I just ordered take-out. My son and I were a little early, before the food was done. The wait-staff allowed us to sit down and gave us a complimentary soda. Our food was ready at the expected time. When I arrived home, the sushi had a hair in it and chicken teriyaki had plastic cooked into it. Of what I did eat, the food was mediocre. The rest went in the garbage. Well this is disappointing. I came in today to order take out food. I was the first person in line at the takeout window. The gentleman at the front desk and the woman hostess answered two phone calls and helped four NEW people that arrived after me (2 picking up food and 2 to be placed on a seated wait list). I was there first, but everyone that came after me took priority for some reason. I was acknowledged but never helped. After the fourth NEW person came in and was promptly assisted, I decided to leave. Had I called to order, dined in, or picked up food, I would be enjoying dinner instead of writing this. A reminder about customer service or adding additional staff could help. I will not be back. read more

Amazing sushi. I was in the area for a training event. Stayed at the double tree and walked over. A little bit of a wait for a seat but definitely worth it. Lived in Japan 10 years so I'm a bit of a sushi snob. Great flavor and freshness. Would definitely recommend. read more

I was super impressed with this place. I can't wait to go again!! I want to try EVERYTHING! They have mochi ice cream, more importantly red bean. All the sushi rolls we tried were delicious and service was speedy. They have kids meals that include teriyaki chicken with rice and tempura veggies. Only ate here one time while visiting Spokane. Seems like it would be fun with a group hitting the sauce. Solid stuff, I wouldn't venture away from the tried and true too much. Did some shrimp rolls, tuna, salmon, all the usual. If I were to return to Spokane I don't know that I would seek it out for myself, but if a colleague said they wanted to go I would do so without hesitation. Super friendly staff. read more

This restaurant has a PHENOMENAL amount of options on their menu. The atmosphere is open, welcoming, and the staff accommodating and so friendly. Fabulous suggestions were made for what to try, and those recommendations did not disappoint. I had the "Olympic Appetizer" which is a cucumber wrapped sushi type roll, and my only complaint is that the "mustard and vinegary sauce" throws off the taste balance. I wish that could be modified differently, but everything else we had was wonderful. I have every intention of going back to try different menu offerings. read more

Review is based on my experience compared to other restaurants in Spokane. If I compare this place with other sushi places in the states, I would've given 3 stars. Located in downtown-- the restaurant doesn't have parking lots. I parked in public parking area all day for 8 dollars and walked to this place. It was a bit empty as I walked in on the weekend. The place was clean and spacious. I ordered seaweed salad, salmon nigiri, and chirashi bowl. My boyfriend got hwaedupbap. Salmon was fresh and tasty. My chirashi bowl was okay. The egg pieces tasted stale and there wasn't anything special about it (except salmon pieces b/c I love salmon lol) I wish they would give more variety of fish with a bigger bowl so it doesn't overflow when I eat. My fav was hwaedupbap. It's a Korean version of chirashi bowl/bibimbap with spicy sauce. The only suggestion I could make about it was to make the sauce a little less sweet. Other than that, everything was good. Our server was attentive and kind. Total came out to be around 50 bucks-ish not including tips. If i do come back here I would rather get haewdupbap next time! read more

Drove to Spokane for a medical school interview and was pleasantly surprised by the presence of an amazing Japanese sushi restaurant! Upon arrival, we were presented with a large open space with a calming ambience -- the walls are a cool tan color with dim lighting. We were welcomed to an amazing server who emanated tons of positive energy. I got the Chirashi bowl, which had amazingly soft and tender fish atop a bed of rice. I didn't expect such good quality fish in Spokane in all honesty! I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area, but it seems like it would get busy during busier weekends! read more

Surprisingly excellent sushi place in Spokane, Washington ! I attended 2018 PanAm Taekwondo competition in Spokane as my son participated in it. He loved sushi so I asked the hotel concierge on good sushi place without the high expectation of sushi because, I thought, that this is such a small place far from the beach. The hotel lady recommended sushi.com without hesitation. When I came and saw the restaurant from outside, it does not look that nice, in fact, they were some graffiti, which I thought "oh no... I may have food poisoning in this place". Also, the naming of "sushi.com" does not sound Japanese. To my surprise, I was helped by a Japanese waiter from Osaka, which is really nice and polite. We shared some stories as I visited Japan every quarter. She served us very well and the food is wonderful. Agedashi Tofu - good size (rather large than normal) with tasty soy sauce Volcano sushi - really delicious, crunchy and good size Unagi nigiri - my son literally swallow them down in no-time Ramen - my wife got them and both myself and my son kept taking from her due to its great taste. I was curious about the name, so with the recommendation of a friend I decided to try it and it was great! Apparently they have won best sushi and Japanese in Spokane multiple years in a row and I completely understand why. We ordered the OH Kevin roll, it was so freaking good, we scarfed it up before our dinner arrived. I ordered the Korean Short Ribs and my co-worker decided to try the Bento box. Both were fantastic and hit all the right notes and flavors were on point. The menu is big, so it will take you some time to get through it all and make your decisions, there were SO many rolls to choose from as well. When eating at a sushi joint the first time I prefer to avoid the rolls to better assess the quality of the fish. Got the chef's choice. 8 generous and quality cuts of nigiri and 4 pieces of Cali-roll with miso soup for under $20. I thought the rice was really good as well and there was enough to help get you full without taking away from the fish. Also excessively generous with the wasabi. Will definitely be back because I'm hotel living for another three weeks and this place is close and solid. read more

The overwhelmingly positive reviews lured us in, and there is a large menu to choose from. I opted for a small sashimi combo and a rockin roll (yellowtail scallion). It was overall pretty solid, though given another chance I would've opted for more salmon and no tuna since that was my least favorite. Good size pieces of fish. Ive been here lots of time and its been great every time! Went in and got seated within a minute even though they seemed really busy, the server was a super sweet girl named Kyrstan (I think) and she was always there right when we needed her. We ordered a Dream Roll, a Washington Roll and a Rainbow Roll and they were all great. Dream roll was the favorite, I very much recommend. Great service and great sushi. No complaints! read more

I have eaten here twice with my son. The food was good but both times it was crowded and the table service was not up to par (granted I know there is a shortage of workers but checking on your guests is also part of one's job). And a bit pricy too as compared to some other very good sushi places around town. They try to be very creative, however some of the flavor combinations just miss. If you stick with the plain rolls (California, Spicy Tuna) you're going to pay a lot for a bite you can pick up with 2 fingers. The atmosphere is nice, not super quiet and when they are busy you are going to have a wait out the door (like we did) - party of 4 on a busy Saturday afternoon. We wanted to stay and chat - really draw out our lunch and were never rushed by the waitress. We ended up requesting the menu back a few times to order more rolls. Delicious sushi (I'm from California where the sushi is always great; every place I've been in Spokane is not good at all except here). Can be pricey but you know that walking in. Only downsides are they take a while to take your order and bring out your food and they always close 30-45 minutes before they say online. This spot is a popular sushi spot downtown and for good reason! I find everyone who works here friendly and cheery, sushi chefs and servers alike. Inside is warm and the chairs are comfortable. Their menu features a large variety of food - a page of appetizers, udon, donburi and of course all the sushi, rolls and more! My favorite item to order is called hwedup bob, a rice bowl topped with raw fish, veggies and accompanied with a slightly spicy gochujang sauce. Basically, it's a spicy chirashi bowl more or less. I also like that they have many $5-6 rolls on the menu that aren't like only one or two ingredients, but they are about half the size of a regular roll. Lastly, you get a dessert on your birthday and I always find that sweet (no pun intended). I took off a star for the following: 1) our server, while very sweet, forgot a few things (which is ok and we understand it was very busy), 2) service was slow (again, it was busy), 3) parking sucks and sushi is ok (I base this off of having sushi on the coast as well as eating it in Japan). I would give this place 3.5 stars realistically if I could. Service was slow to start and they weren't overly busy, it took about 20 minutes to have a server come to the table to even greet us. The fish seemed to be of good quality and the pricing was not horrible. I tried the bins roll and it was pretty good but something within it had an odd aftertaste , not bad but different. My boyfriend got the oh Kevin, dragon roll, and the awesome roll. He said the oh Kevin was the best of the 3. We also ordered the firecracker appetizer which was delicious but pricey for 2 halves of a jalapeno. The rolls were all wrapped tight which was nice in order to keep it all together! All in all I'd return but it wasn't the best sushi joint I've been to. $110 for 1 small appetizer, 4 bottled beers, and 4 rolls. We came to Sushi.Com primarily because we were going to spend the afternoon downtown and the menu was varied enough to satisfy everyone in our group. The sushi was solid, the kitchen items were OK, and the ramen was forgetful. We were the only patrons in the restaurant aside from a table or two coming in at the end of our stay, but the sushi chefs were agonizingly slow. After we found street parking directly in front of the restaurant, our party of 7 was seated immediately in a large, but empty restaurant, with only table seating and no booths. The menu is large and was able to accommodate those in our group wanting noodles or bento boxes. If I'm not having my customary AYCE, I'll usually order a roll or two to help fill me up. I would recommend the rolls here as they are all unique combinations and not just a redundant base with a varying of one or two ingredients. Scooter was the name of the roll I ordered and the fish was fresh, as was the fish in my chirashi bowl. I didn't notice until later that they were light on the 7 pieces of fish stated on the menu. They size of the cuts of sashimi were also light. There weren't a lot of broken pieces of rice, but it did lack any hints of tart, salty, or sweet seasoning. The chicken teriyaki dinner was not made to order and unexpectedly was the first of the entrees to come out in a time of less than five minutes. I heard, "this is probably Top Ramen" and, "the broth tastes like salted water" at our table, which should be enough to keep you from ordering any ramen. My roll was the last of the food to be delivered and it came out 25 minutes after we placed our order. It's hard to comprehend that amount of time elapsing when we were the only table in the restaurant. Prices averaged just under $15/person and our server was quite friendly and had no trouble keeping up with the needs of the table. The chefs were nice enough to wrap some rice in a piece of nori to make a mini roll for the two-year-old. It's worth a stop here for the sushi and if you're not in a hurry, but you're probably rolling the dice with kitchen items. read more

I enjoy getting dinner here and we go about once a month. The food is always great, my personal favorites are the sushi combo, which comes with a variety of sushi. I usually have green tea or saki with dinner and both are good. It also comes with miso soup, a nice side dish. The wait staff are fantastic, they are friendly and efficient. It is located downtown so parking can be difficult sometimes. We usually get lucky enough to get street parking and if not there is a lot next door.
