The food here is fantastic. My sashimi was fresh and beautiful, with big portions. My two friends I was with each got rolls and loved the portions and flavor-- we've gone to several sushi places in Spokane and this is our favorite for the deliciousness of everything we tried. So, as far as the basics of quality ingredients and crafted sushi/sashimi, Sushi Blossom is tops. The reason for only four stars is the service. It was busy (we were there at 6 pm on a Tuesday, so also a great nod to how good it is here that the place was bustling on a weeknight). But our service was really pretty poor. I have no desire to put a young lady working as a server on blast, so I'll just say we waited an extra-long time, and felt as a table like we were irritating or inconveniencing our server, though we ordered right away, had no adjustments to what we ordered, and just sat waiting a long time patiently. We didn't complain, and thanked our server when she brought our food. But if I'd been with someone who didn't already love Sushi Blossom and was my guest, this would have felt pretty embarrassing, like we were doing something wrong by being customers. However, that was just one young lady on one night out of LOTS of dining experiences at Sushi Blossom, most of which have been excellent. So we'll happily be back, and put this one experience behind us. The food, once again, is so, so good. If you're looking for great sushi in Spokane, this is a fantastic place to try! read more

Sushi blossom is hands down my favorite sushi spot in town and I've been to most. Every roll I've had is assembled expertly, the flavor combinations are on point, the fish has that perfect bite/chew, the miso soup is great. The service is always friendly and prompt and the restaurant is very clean. I always want to try the hot options but the sushi is so good here that I stuff myself on that. Excellent hole in the wall place that we came to on a weekend lunch right when it opened. We decided to splurge for lunch due to travel and ordered a large variety of nigiri, an appetizer, and an eel roll on the side. Everything is delicious and super fresh (we were told there was a fresh tuna shipment and so got two orders of the chu-toro) and the nigiri pieces were large. The most disappointing thing were the the various eggs (including the tobiko and ikura). However, we loved the different scallops, uni, and the sweet shrimp was also good. After tax and tip, we were around $130+ so it was not a cheap meal, but for the quality, it is worth the splurge. Yo could definitely spend less if you stuck to the sets and combos, but we opted for nigiri only as a treat. read more

Rolls are usually fresh and tasty, prices are reasonable too. The Hamachi and Salmon collars are almost a full meal and totally legit. Wait times are mixed. We usually get our food within 20 minutes, but it took 45 minutes last visit. Service is friendly and parking is plentiful in the shared lots nearby. read more

Definitely one of the more beautiful restaurants I've been to in Spokane. The flowers, images on the walls, and furniture all go well together to create a sophisticated look. Service was quick and the waitress was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The place was surprisngly packed for a 4PM meal. There are a few free parking spots in front of the store as well. Food - The raw fish is not the best I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst either. Quality-wise, I would give it 6.5/10. The plating is lovely, especially with Starry Night. Otherwise, nothing particularly special about the taste of the sushi. The portions are also on the smaller side and the wasabi is neon green. Not sure if I'm just particular about prices, but this place is quite expensive for the portions and quality. I loved everything about my dinner experience here. I consider myself a sushi connoisseur and I am typically very picky about my sushi. I don't usually order rolls because they are not authentic. I tried the starry night roll because the yelp photos intrigued me. I did not regret my choice. The flavors were balanced well. I like the selection and the knife cut of the sashimi. We made a reservation here on Tuesday evening, we were seated quickly and our table was clean. The restaurant was tidy and beautifully decorated with Japanese items and ornaments. It's on the smaller side, so be prepared to wait if you come during busier nights. Our orders of an Idaho roll, Love Blossom combo, and Salmon Blossom were placed quickly. Review below: Idaho Roll- A roll of yellowtail, cucumber, and scallions. The yellowtail had a delicious, fresh fish taste, perfectly pairing with the crisp fragrance of the cucumber and herbal flourish of the scallions. The rice was ever so mildly sweet, just enough to impart a light essence to the roll. And the light aroma of seaweed from the wrap was just the finishing touch this roll needed. Although on the dry side, the texture of the rice lent itself well to the fattiness of the yellowtail and the crunch of the cucumber. Some rolls were a bit messy, but it all looks the same in your stomach, right? Love Blossom combo- From left to right, the nigiri is escolar (extra white tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), hamachi (amberjack), yellowtail, salmon, and tuna. Came with miso soup. I didn't have the miso, but it came in a timely fashion. The nigiri rice was on the drier side, however you feel about that. The fish portions were generous and perfectly balanced with the rice, and the knife work was excellent. Salmon was a bit on the fatty side but it paired well with the umami of the soy sauce and the dry nutty sweetness of the rice. Salmon Blossom- basically sliced salmon on a California roll. Very generous portion of krab. Soft and tender without being overly creamy or rich, and you could still taste the salmon and avocado, even the sweet rice. Salmon was on the fatty side. Service, ambiance, and food were all a 10/10! We had 3 different servers come over to bring us water at the corner booth at the sushi bar, not realizing we were already provided with some. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and informative. This was the best restaurant service I've experienced in a long long time. The fish was fresh, the rolls were tight, and you get 10 pieces per roll! The pricing is reasonable for sushi, about $14 a roll. We will definitely be back. I'm a very picky sushi diner, not new but not adventurous and this place has a little of everything from those who don't eat fish to those who eat sashimi! We also had some sake bombs, they don't have them on the menu but they brought out some sake and Sapporo beer to make our own. The inside is small but intimate, perfect for date night. What a lovely restaurant! I walked in around 2:45 on a Tuesday, and the guy at the front was so quick to help me take my order and was nice enough to let me eat half of it here and take half of it to go because I was in a rush. The star of the show truly was the yellowtail nigiri though... I'm from California so it's hard for me to find sushi in Washington that I like, and WOW that's some of the most delicious yellowtail I've tasted in a while. Sometimes that fish can be too "fishy" tasting, and this was as fresh as ever. It was incredibly delicious and everyone was so kind. Ok, probably most of the staff isn't Japanese, but the furniture and furnishings are definitely more Japanese than hip. Thus actually being more hip. Staff is very attentive, though not pushy. They definitely have that overly polite Japanese thing going. Even on a Sunday, fish was good. Add per picture, pieces are sizeable and fresh and well prepared. One small comment: seemingly no wasabi on the nigiri, or maybe just the one nigiri (salmon) that we got. Of course none on the unagi. I went there today with my family for a nice treat, and going out for Japanese food is always one of our favorites to get! I ordered the beef yaki soba and my mom and sister ordered an avocado bomb, salmon roll, and a crunch roll- they liked the crunch roll so much they ordered another one! I'm personally not a sushi person but the yaki soba was amazing! The best I've ever had :) it's also so versatile having so many different options for meats (or vegetarian) options. I've never heard of this place so my cousin and I decided to give it a try last night. The building is pretty small and it was packed. The wait was 25 minutes and I've never been a fan of waiting in line for my food but in this instance, I'm glad I did. I got the sushi blossom (left) and Stary night (right). Both were absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. Not sure of the variety of fish in each but you can easily learn looking at the menu and figure it out. Since the location is smaller the fish is constantly rotated so it's super fresh and contributes to the deliciousness! The staff was very friendly and high energy, you can tell they enjoy their jobs! Prices are very reasonable. We were able to get all the rolls shown for about $70. This definitely takes the number one spot of my sushi joints in Spokane! read more
