My best friend had moved to Spokane from Sacramento, and so when I was up visiting, we decided to stop for sushi. We've eaten at dozens of different sushi restaurants in Sacramento, most of which are exceptional quality. So I have a fairly high standard for my sushi. To start, service was very friendly, the building was clean, and it's a good size building. It has lots of ample parking in the lot behind it as well. The menu is fairly large and has many different options on them. My friend and I decided to share the deluxe dragon, kyle, and a chef special surprise roll. I like to get a chef's special wherever I go, because it gives the chef a chance to have fun and create something different than what they're used to. The rolls were decent. I enjoyed them, but it's not like it was anything too special. The quality of fish decent, flavor was decent, and the speed it took to make them was decent. That's definitely the takeaway from Sushi.com. Decent. So if you want some decent sushi then go ahead and give it a shot. On another note, I feel like sushi.com is not a great name for a business, unless you own the domain for the sushi.com website. My family has been coming for 20 years. This place is our special occasion spot and my parents long time date spot! It's perfect for every event and although it gets busy the wait is never too long and they're very accommodating. Every waitress we've had has been amazing and ours from last night gave us some extra miso for our baby and he ate it up. Their food is always so fresh and delicious. Their fish never smells fishy or tastes poor and I always feel good after. Most sushi makes me feel a little sick due to long term digestive sensitivity but never with here! They handle their fish very well I'm obsessed with their Chirashi bowl and my whole family loves the rainbow roll, K2, dragon, caterpillar and Harley Davidson!! So good!! read more

I have been coming here for so many years. My most favorite sushi restaurant in town. I can't wait for the restaurant to be open indoors again, but the to go is still just as delicious. The oyster gold yaki, is amazing. I love oysters, I love them raw and cooked in every way. The oyster is baked just enough that the oyster isn't chewy. The cream sauce on top of the oyster is like a sesame oil, garlicky sauce. I try to remake it at home but I can never get the recipe on point. They make delicious baked mussels, creamy and saucy with a bit of spice. Their cooked perfectly so they don't become chewy. The Montana roll is my favorite. Five different types of fish, cream cheese and avocado topped with a spicy mayo under mozzarella. Totally untraditional, but the best. It comes in four large pieces and you have to just be messy and try to eat it all in one bite. I always have to order two of these big boys. The giant roll is simplicity. Two types of fish, avocado and cream cheese with a wasabi mayo. Super simple but so fresh and delightful. Always get the tea. It is a toasted rice green tea. One of my favorites. The beef yakisoba is also phenomenal. I don't understand why it is so hard to find a really good noodle dish, but their sauce is really good, and I love the mushrooms and broccoli in it. The best yakisoba I've had in town. All the employees are so friendly, and they remember us every time. It's like coming home for dinner. Wife and I had our Valentines Dinner at Sushi.com and it was a great experience. Staff was very attentive and we were given ample time to decide on the menu. Even though the menu is large, the staff helped us with it and even made some great suggestion. I had the Chef's Choice Sashimi Combo and and the Tempura Veggies, wow that was more than what I expected. They even have my favorite beer "Sapporo". My wife had the Bar-B-Que Pork and she really liked it. A lot of Japanese Dish choices in the menu and I'll surely be going back to try them out. Setting of the restaurant was nice and welcoming. This is definitely THE BEST sushi place in spokane. The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. There are beautiful Japanese murals on the walls and huge windows that light up the entire room. When you walk in you are automatically greeted by the sushi chefs then directed to a table by a host. There are tons of tables perfectly spaced apart from one another so you never feel too close to other guests when it's busy. The tables are versatile so this place is perfect for large groups or date night. Their menu is huge so there's definitely something for everyone- the sushi lovers, the non-sushi lovers, kids, and people with dietary restrictions! For non-sushi lovers there are a lot of options to choose from including ramen, udon, Yakisoba, donburis, and bento boxes. My favorite is the yakiniku which is marinated beef that comes out sizzling on a hot plate. So good!!! Their sushi is the most fresh of all the fish I've had in Spokane. There are more than 50 sushi rolls to choose from ranging from raw, cream cheese, deep fried, vegan, and saucy! Every roll that I've ordered has been beautifully presented on a plate like a true work of art. Totally instagram worthy! You cannot leave this place without trying the tempura ice cream. It's your choose of vanilla or green tea ice cream covered in pound cake, then deep fried and adorned with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a cherry on top. Certainly the best sushi I've had in Spokane and one of my top sushi restaurants overall! Ordered the "I love tuna" roll. I was a little bit frightened of the wasabi sauce on top, but it was amazing! This roll is the perfect combination of spicy, crunchy and sweet! The salmon nigiri was fresh, good sized and buttery delicious! I would definitely come back if I could afford it more often! So first timer here, I've heard this places mention so I thought I'd have dinner here. As soon as I arrived I was greeted I asked dinner for one and they offered table or sushi bar, when dining alone I enjoy the bars because you get to see the sushi chef skillfully prepare your food. The ambiance was great and the waitress was so wonderful. She brought me water and of course I ordered a soft drink it was cold and refreshing. She started with the miso soup and it was good not too hot, I was able to enjoy it right away and the taste was delightful. Then she brought out the edamame and they too were not hot just the right warm and they were lightly salted and the texture I thought was perfect not to soft more on the where you can feel almost a crunch, delightful! Them came out the bento box dinner combo. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and California Roll along with that was served a salad and a cucumber salad with a delicious sesame dressing and a green salad with a tasteful dressing as well of course it included steam rice and the rice was perfect consistency and stickiness that you could eat it with your Japanese chop sticks it of course had ginger and wasabi along with an orange slice. Prior to the bento box, I watched the sushi chef prepare my order which was the Alaska which is 5 pieces and includes BBQ salmon skin, cucumber, and sesame seeds with unagi sauce. The Alaska was good and gone before I knew it! Finally the only complaint I had was on the Teriyaki Chicken it was a bit dry but still good because I ate it all lol All in all it was a great experience and ambiance and I am definitely returning to try more items off the menu. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place and I will definitely be bringing my friends here. read more

This sushi restaurant was recommended by multiple people and our hotel staff. Overall I'd say the food in Spokane is eh so this place is probably really good for locals. The sushi rolls were good and reason for 3stars but the rest of the menu items like the ramen were horrible and not authentic in flavor at all. I got the tonkotsu ramen and it lacked umami and flavor all together. The broth tasted like chicken broth from a container. Noodles were firmer than Al Dante. Egg was fully cooked. The pork tasted like chicken assuming because it sat in the broth that tasted like chicken. Staff took awhile or forgot to bring requested items. They were busy with many visitors over the week and didn't seem to have additional staff. Hope they can improve! read more

That being said, the sushi at sushi.com is excellent! They have such an amazing selection to try out that you can always have something different each time you dine! I always come in and order a bento box to share (cause they are so filling), but I also order some sort of roll or nigiri to come with it. Their salmon is so good, I usually try to get anything where salmon is the main part of the roll. You also have to try the avocado bomb, so much packed in an appetizer! The staff here is always very friendly and helpful, even when it's busy. There have been days where the wait is really long, but it's understandable, considering the sushi options in Spokane. Went for dinner prior to a theater performance. Arrived at 5:00 and no problem with seating. 30 minutes later they were slammed. Even with every table being filled the service was excellent. We had vegetable tempura to start. Not greasy. On to Nigiri Sushi. Again excellent. For desert I wanted a plum sushi roll (ume) which was not on the menu. No problem and it too was excellent. One area of improvement would be the wine selection. Pinot Gris and Chardonnay don't really pair well. Both items came out at the same time My first impression of the Volcano was "this looks awful!" I couldn't even see the sushi on the plate! Just a pile of tempura flakes. I dug with my chopsticks to find a piece of sushi and took my first bite and it was literally a mouth full of tempura! The sushi was also warm so the roll wasn't holding it's structural integrity. It completely lacked flavor. It only had a sweet taste from the eel sauce and salty taste from the massive amounts of tempura flakes.
