I was craving spam musubi and saw that Wave has it on their menu. I ordered via UberEats and everything was well packaged and arrived quickly. The spam musubi was great. Definitely the star of the show. I also got the philly roll, da bomb roll and mac salad. Well... the mac salad was defintely not my favorite. It was spicy? Perhaps they used the spicy mayo (they call it raw sauce)... and it was beyond room temperature. I took a few bites and disposed. Disappointing! I love philly rolls but the texture of their fish in both of the rolls didn't quite hit the mark. But perhaps it was just an off day. Overall, it was okay. I will try again and select different menu items next time. read more

My wife and stopped in for lunch today. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated. We each ordered off the special lunch combo menu. The miso soup and cucumber salad were yummy. The service was good, and the server was a very friendly guy. Very personable, made great convo before it got busy, very enjoyable! The ambiance was nice, felt clean, pleasant. Reggae music in the background was a nice touch. The food was very delicious. We had the Japanese curry, pork katsu, and loco moco. We really loved all of it. I especially enjoyed the mexi cali roll. Being an island grill, maybe pronouncing island food correctly would help but there was a local brother from HI that helped us during happy hour which made the place match the island ambiance & music. Ive ran into two encounters where I specifically called to ask if there was a wait and what time "last call" was. I was told to come in and it was at 830 PM. The first time I went in at 8 PM and then 8:13 PM and was told they just did their last call and could not serve my family and I. It's just poor customer service and communication. Don't tell a customer it's okay to come in and then 15 min later say something different. This is one of my fav sushi spots and it's frustrating that I've continued to run into this. read more

Haven't been here in a long time but had the opportunity tonight for a social dinner. Their menu has plenty of options for sushi lovers and those that avoid fish at all costs. I ordered the chicken katsu and a California roll - it was the perfect amount of food to fill me up. Also, the cucumber salad they have as an option is AMAZING!!! Highly recommend it. I stopped by as this spot is walking distance from the Davenport Tower. I came in just in time for happy hour which was great because there were some tasty deals. I ordered the spicy salmon rolls, Ahi Poke and Lucky Fizz. The spicy salmon rolls were tasty but slightly spicier than I thought it would be. The Ahi Poke was tasty but a little salty. I loved the Lucky Fizz drink, it was just like the lychee jelly but made into a strong alcoholic drink. The staff was really friendly and inside was really nice. We went during happy hour which is definitely the move. Our sushi rolls(one not pictured) were both on the happy hour menu and it was busy at all. Our server was exceptional. When asking about ingredients in the milk tea she brought out the ingredient in question so we could make sure we could have it. Just went above and beyond to accommodate us. All the food was really good. We also had the spam musubi which was also on the happy hour menu and it looked so good I forgot to take a picture before we ate it. I go on Sundays at happy hour, when it's quiet. Firstly, the owner responds to negative yelp reviews, I just read. That is a huge plus in business. I know this. I agree with the comments about gas station sushi. 100% The rice was yellow, hard, and old. My rolls look as if they were deep fried YESTERDAY. The owner replies that they are deep fried, but this is not what a deep fried roll looks like nor is that what I ordered. I do not order deep fried sushi. I'm in town for work and was looking for some good sushi. And this place came up close to my hotel and walkable. I tried it twice both times staff were kind and so helpful. The food is good and tasty. I ordered some the different sushi plates the fish was fresh and tasty but I did notice both times it took a while to the sushi plates out versus the regular hot plates. Some in my group got their plates quick while rest waited for while for our sushi plates. We also had some miso since it was cold out but very quickly put it to side since it was too salty to eat. read more

I work at a fellow restaurant and I completely understand the exhaustion of the industry and closing early. This has happened several times for you to close early it is only 938 I called at 9:30 for a to go order and it says you are open till 11o'clock for service. I absolutely cannot understand why you're shutting down an hour and a half early. I love you sushi and I love your restaurant but the frustration of this happening over and over again its becoming absolute insult at this point. Found free parking on Sunday right around the corner was seated right away. Nice big seating and TVs. Got the big roll that's 2lbs and it was delicious pricy but good. The waiter either he didn't want to work or he had to be high not sure he just didn't even care to ask if we wanted drinks just brought water and asked if we were ready to order. We sat in the table close to The back able to see them making the sushi so I was able to see the waiter just be on his phone and talking to the girl and guy making the food. I was visiting Spokane past 9pm on a Friday night and wow what a great and unexpected surprise I came across. Our server was very nice, but the service seemed slow. It also appeared she had a lot of ground to cover with not much help so I don't hold that against her. On to the food... It was so damn good. The flavors were awesome and what gets me the most is the portions of fish are huge. Sadly this place puts to shame most all of the sushi places I eat around the Seattle area, which always have puny fish portions and not a ton of innovation that taste as good as they look. Kind of ironic that Wave's sushi in a "land locked" area compared to living on the Puget Sound is so much better. If I remember correctly we had (some falling under happy hour even!) spicy tuna roll, philly roll, musubi, Flame roll, and Jessica Alba-core roll. I started out loving the flame but then wanted to finish the Jessica Alba.
