Crispy Smokehouse Wings (sauce on the side)
    Melissa R.

We came here for my husband's birthday in July, we enjoyed it so much that we decided why not come back for my birthday. (I'm late writing this review as my birthday was in September.) The food was still very good, but I'll say the server can absolutely make or break an experience. Our server was very cold, we noticed him interacting with other tables and he was much friendlier, so maybe he doesn't like kids? (My 5yo daughter was also dining with us.) He didn't tell us about specials, when we asked it wasn't detailed at all, he seemed almost annoyed. He wasn't as attentive to us as he was to those tables around us. We also sat in the side building (where the kitchen is located.) There was a definite fly problem, which was a bit of a put off. We ordered the smokehouse wings to start (sauce on the side), my husband did the seasonal short rib -which was the special) and I ordered the filet. My daughter was quite happy with the chicken and fries. So I'll say while the food is good, it'll probably be a while before we choose to go back. Eating out is an expensive, I'd rather be somewhere our business is appreciated.

We were told the wait was going to be 30 mins or so but we got seated within 10 mins. Came on a Saturday during time. Good weather to be seated out in the patio and enjoy the live music. The food here was the best meal we had during our short stay. Everything was delicious. Just be prepared for the wait for the food to come out. Don't skip this place when in CDA. I only gave it a 4 star because of the wait to get our food. Ryder was our server and he was friendly and helpful.

The food is great. Ambience is relaxing. Dessert is awesome. Took out one star coz the server is somewhat slow. But service overall is good

    Salmon Bowl

WOW!!! I just had the best Salmon bowl that I have ever had in my life! Sat at the bar and Mary was so sweet and attentive and recommended it. Loved every bite! The whole place is a really cool vibe. Don't pass on it!

Great little restaurant in Hayden. Enthusiastic service, quickly filling drink orders and taking our food orders. There is a limited selection of beers on tap with additional options in cans or bottles. There is also a comprehensive cocktail menu with a well stocked bar if preferred. I had the roasted beets and the soup of the day. Both were very delicious!! The soup was flavorful- just a little salty for me - yet still yummy! The beets were fantastic! My husband enjoyed the Kyoshi Bowl - highly recommend!! The salmon was cooked perfectly- not overcooked and dried up - it was perfect Definitely on the list for return visits.

    Fried pickles

This was our third time there, first two times were perfect! This time total opposite, our server Mary B was not the greatest. Firstly, she was rushing us to order drinks while we're trying to attach our daughters highchair to the table. When ordering she had no recollection of what consists on the kids menu. She didn't bother to mention what they didn't have available on the menu until after we had already placed our order. Another server filled our water. For food I got the caprese baguette sandwich, and only took two bites, she didn't bother to ask if I liked the sandwich until it was time to pay. I let her know I didn't like it, when she came back to the table she mentioned the manager had comped the sandwich NEVER once did a manager came to talk to me about the meal or how we were doing. I felt completely rushed through our meal, no tables touched by the managers. Totally disappointed by this experience. Not too sure if I'll go back honestly.

Second experience here. Really bad service number one. Serve had little menu knowledge and drinks came out one at a time 5 to ten minutes apart for the table of 5. This was our second time in but brought first timers with us. The filet was described as an au jus herb butter sauce however this was an extremely salty demi that was almost inedible. The pot pie was very difficult to eat. The ribeye was good but the mashed potatoes were giving off leftover vibes. Hard and dry. Like to say maybe being a Sunday and new crew would explain it. Hard to say. Definitely disappointed this time around

Smashburger, Thai peanut sobe noodle salad, pork tenderloin, meatballs app, and burrata caprese app. All delicious!

An unforgettable dining experience in Coeur d'Alene…read more As someone who spent over 15 years working in fine dining, I don't hand out five-star reviews lightly. From the moment I sat down on the patio at Midtown Bluebird, I knew this place was something special. The atmosphere was exactly what I was hoping for on a beautiful Idaho evening, relaxed, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable. I ended up chatting with the couple seated next to me for over 30 minutes, which says a lot about the kind of place this is. Great food has a way of bringing people together. I started with the house-pickled vegetable flight, and it absolutely stole the show. The presentation was beautiful, but what impressed me even more was hearing the story behind it. Our server explained how the vegetables are pickled in the cellar downstairs, and you could immediately tell this wasn't just another appetizer, it was something crafted with pride and intention. Every vegetable had its own unique flavor profile. If you're someone who loves pickles or even finds yourself sipping pickle juice after opening a jar, this is a must-order. It was one of the most memorable appetizers I've had in a very long time. I also ordered the seasonal salad, featuring beets, fingerling potatoes, pickled onions, cheese, and a light vinaigrette. It was incredibly fresh, balanced, and vibrant. Every bite showcased the quality of the ingredients, and it paired beautifully with the rest of the meal. It's the kind of salad that reminds you seasonal dishes can be every bit as memorable as the entrée. The warm focaccia with herbed butter was simple perfection. Crisp on the outside, soft and airy inside, and impossible to stop eating. For dinner, I ordered the chef's special, flat iron steak with chimichurri, asparagus, and grains. The steak was cooked beautifully with a perfect char, the chimichurri was bright and fresh without overpowering the meat, and every component on the plate felt intentional. Nothing was there just to fill space, it all belonged. To top it off, I enjoyed a couple of outstanding local Idaho beers on tap. The selection was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. What really elevates Midtown Bluebird, though, is the hospitality. The service was knowledgeable, genuine, and passionate. You can tell the staff believes in what they're serving, and that enthusiasm makes the experience even better. Owner-operated restaurants like this are becoming harder to find, and they're worth supporting. This isn't a place trying to chase trends, it's a restaurant focused on craftsmanship, quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and creating an experience you'll remember long after you've left. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in Coeur d'Alene. Midtown Bluebird isn't just a great meal, it's the kind of restaurant that reminds you why dining out can still feel special. Highly, highly recommended.

I said several times I don't eat butter so didn't wash Nashville, she said oh it's a dry rub then when I saw another plate arrive said oh no is that how it comes can we please not put mayonnaise on top of mine for the miso honey. Anyway my plate arrive arrived covered in butter and cheese. Who puts cheese on fries without saying so? So I obviously could not eat any of it. I didn't bother to have them remake it and paid for an un-edible meal but asked her what could I have done differently she said tell us about your allergies and I was like, well I did. I told you I don't eat butter and the cornbread still arrived with the biggest slab of butter I've ever seen. Like wtf? Disappointing. But I will say the pickled vegetables were amazing! 10/10

Did not expect this!…read more I've driven by this place a hundred times and was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The inside decor is dark with low lighting giving it a cozy , romantic , upscale feel. Unique decor and decorated cool. The first thing you see when you walk in is a glass floor that you can walk on and can see a table of people Dining in the basement. It's pretty cool. Our server was extremely attentive. Every time he walked by he would check our drinks or ask us if we needed anything... top notch ! The food - it's on the pricier side but worth the experience. We started off with the baked Brie and the blue cheese wedge. The baked Brie was unique. The Brie was wrapped in a house made phyllo dough and covered in caramel sauce. Accompanied by Some fruit and bread. Unique and well executed. The wedge was wonderful. Very tasty house made blue cheese dressing and bacon (I think adding some tomato or onion would have broken up the saltiness) but was still great tasting We ordered the sweet pork chop. I was impressed how moist and tender they cooked the pork.. I have to admit that it was too sweet. Even for me, who has a crazy sweet tooth. It was a unique pairing, but left no room for savory. We also ordered the seafood fettuccini. I believe they house make their pasta and Alfredo sauce. It didn't come with a ton of seafood (a couple large prawns and a few bacon wrapped scallops) but hit the spot. Their house bread they serve with your meal is the highlight! A little loaf of breast drenched in a garlic butter sauce! I'm salivating just thinking about it! I' have to admit, I have high expectations, and this place is probably the better of the many other local eateries I've tried . A little spendy- 2 people , no drinks with tip $130 ish Ambiance - 5 Food- 5 Service -5
