Blown away by the menu, cocktails, flavors, ambience and service at Satay! The most solid 5 STAR experience. Bestie and I enjoyed dinner here this past Saturday evening. Satay couldn't be anymore perfect if they tried. This is the type of place I'd imagine driving to town for if I lived in Spokane or anywhere within an hour or even two! Every single bite of every dish was 5 STAR. I'll admit I am not easy to please and I quite usually have something to say about something. Ask my son! ;) but Satay nailed it! I ordered the huckleberry mojito, which was the most refreshing choice and paired great with dinner. We started with a Thai peanut chicken satay, shared a delish Gorgonzola and pear salad accompanied by a sensational loaf of bread drenched in a dill butter sauce, and split the Halibut with veggies and a roasted corn risotto. Omg!!!! I want to proclaim this is my new favorite restaurant. It was such a lovely meal and time with my bff! If you're looking for the tastiest, most special dinner in town I'm certain this must be the place. Can't wait to return!

Satay has been a recommendation by many and I can certainly see why. The quaint decor, food and wine list is spectacular. Great restaurants here are few and far between but this one is a top 3 contender. Everyone loved their dishes and the salads were amazing!

The food is outstanding! The customer service was excellent! My server was Cody. He took the time to make sure we had a great time and that we enjoyed our food. Make sure you make reservations for your dinner plans- this place can get busy. We also had some cocktails and i will recommend them. So delicious!!

If there is a word to describe yesterday's dining experience at Satay Bistro, it would be "superb". Or should it be (impressively) "splendid"? It might sound like an exaggeration, but this place didn't disappoint us a bit. Hence, I thought it would be most appropriate to start this review with this accolade to dive into it deeper. We were in town from Denver driving around OR, WA, and ID for his business trip. We had had mediocre food(s) on the way the first two days. For me, my gourmet eater side of me was crying out loud (a little bit) to have something more decent or impressive. Being in the two states where they are known to produce excellent wines (OR and WA to say it specifically), this adjacent state (ID) must have places where they serve those excellent wines from them. My bf is more of a beer guy but he yielded to my likings, so I was able to pick a place, a place they serve more than mediocre food(s) and great wine but a little bit of beer selection. Satay Bistro was just the right place for us. It is not just the food I can rave about. The ambiance was so fitting to the kind of place they are. The lights are dimmed, the inviting bar area for singles and two-some, and those "just-the-right-size two-person booths" (which we sat at one of them), and the bigger tables for bigger groups. They also have a little room downstairs (accessible through the spiral staircase right next to the reception area) which is what's called "tasting room" as far as I recollect correctly. It appeared to be for a special occasion room which I am pretty sure you'll have to reserve it ahead of time.) Our waiter (forgot this name) was a very thoroughly trained server with a good amount of wit. He wasn't simply rigidly professional which I could tell by his eloquent speech and impeccable mannerism. His attentiveness was timely and punctual where when he came back to ask for what we had decided but weren't quite ready, he quickly left and came back later just in time when we were finally ready. We started our (early) dinner by ordering the Stuffed Mushroom Spoons from the section, "Tapas". We wanted something small enough so we would have a good room left for our mains, this was simply the perfect thing to order. All the ingredients listed on the menu (garlic, parmesan crisp, mushrooms, sriracha aioli) were perfectly mixed in creamy mushroom and is/was served/placed in Asian soup spoons (four of them.) Oh, let's not forget. To accompany our appetizer and mains, I got a glass of Heritage by Browne, a Washington state Cabernet from Columbia Valley. He got a pint of some amber (our generous waiter gave us a little taste before we landed on them.) Our mains... -Sea Bass (smoked tomatoes vinaigrette, bacon Swiss chard, goat cheese whip) was my choice. "Excellent choice!" was what our waiter said upon ordering it. This dish undoubtedly lived up to the rave he said about it. Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and placed on top of the Swiss chard. What truly complimented the dish was probably the goat cheese whip. The portion of this dish is a good size. It was so filling; I couldn't finish it (so I saved it for later.) -Seafood Balle Fettuccine (tiger prawns, bacon wrapped scallops, smoked gouda, gorgonzola parmesan three cheese sauce, mae ploy, rosemary balsamic) was his choice. At a glance, it looked like a small dish but it was quite filling (like mine; ee couldn't finish the whole thing either.) The fettuccine pasta was marinated in the gorgonzola parmesan three cheese sauce with mae ploy and this mae ploy was the reason the sauce tasted a little sweet. We didn't know why the sauce tasted a little sweet but we both liked it as we had never tasted anything like this before. Unique and yet great way to make pasta sauce in an unconventional way. Well done. Whereas I can keep going to write more about the fantastic dinner, I better conclude it so it won't be like a thesis (LOL)! Inconclusion.... Go here especially if you are looking for some elevated dinner experience. Ambiance, quality of drinks and food, and service are all checked where there is very little chance for you to get disappointed. We walked away with happy tummies and faces.

We took my in-laws here for dinner while in town as they said it was the best restaurant in the area. Everything was really delicious! It's a little pricey but it wasn't anything unreasonable for a fancy restaurant like this one. Only taking away a star because the service slow. Granted it was busy, but there did seem to be a lot of people working as well. I'd still recommend trying it out. Definitely get a reservation since it was packed even on a Thursday night!

Satay Bistro is a little gem right here in Coeur d'Alene. The exterior can be a bit deceiving, but once inside you're transported to another time. Great ambiance. The menu and service is exceptional. Our waitress was Jillian. She's very attentive. We were also greeted by the manager and the owner himself (Rob). We've dined here many times and this has become our favorite restaurant in Coeur d'Alene. We highly recommend.

This place is incredible. Really cool vibe on the inside, not your generic restaurant dining room. The food was all delicious. We got the lobster wonton app, seafood fettuccini, pesto ravioli with salmon all of it was great. Old fashion cocktail was amazing, my wife got the mule and said it was good, nothing special. Service was great, our server was sat with 6 tables all at the same time and still crushed it. Great date night spot, highly recommend.

We held a Christmas party at Satay, and it was the perfect atmosphere! We ordered the mushroom spoons as one of our appetizers, and oh my were they good! But the true star of the appetizer show was the lobster wontons. Oh goodness. They were divine. I was all set to order steak until our waitress shared menu info and specials and then she thoroughly convinced me that I needed the seafood linguine. It.was.amazing. Perfectly cooked scallops, shrimp, and pasta. So so good and I recommend!

Work trip brought me to Idaho and this place was recommended by some coworkers the restaurant had a nice warm feel to it and the staff was very professional and very knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations. The restaurant had a huge wine selection for appetizer. We have the stuffed mushroom spoons, which were awesome.

I am confused on what the cash discount is? A discount is the bill discounted not the same price and then you charge more if it's visa. Why not have an actual discount for cash and not on visa

Hello, the price on the menu is the cash price. If you pay using a card there is a non-cash fee added to the bill. It goes straight to the credit card processing company and Satay does not get any profits from it. We strive to keep our prices low so… Read more

He does that for all the guests, we realized as the night went on. The red wine we had, can't remember the name, was excellent. We paired it with a wonderful olive and hummus dish. It came with some yummy rosemary crackers for the hummus. The vibe and ambiance were wonderful. Even the music selection, mostly instrumental, was perfect. We stayed at the resort and noticed Lola was only a short walk down the road, so we figured we'd check it out, and I am SO glad we did. Immediately from walking in, we felt incredibly welcomed by the owner, Anna, who seriously made us feel like we were old friends. She sat with us and walked us through her wine list, which was excellent and had tons of variety for every kind of drinker. I'm usually a light white wine fan, while my boyfriend tends to enjoy reds, and Anna even had a recommendation for a very light and refreshing red varietal that was somewhere in the middle for us both. As for the ambience, I seriously don't think this place could be any cuter. The charcuterie board was also 12/10 with each element being very high quality, fresh, and flavorful, not to mention affordable, too! We ended up chatting with regulars and Anna for several hours as we were having the BEST time. I wish we could bring this place back to SD with us that's how much we loved it! We will absolutely be back here next time we are in CDA, but go give this place all of your love & support in the mean time!! :)

Now, expect things to be a little untraditional like the "burger" was really more like a veggie patty on a nut loaf with veggies and gravy. Very nice new interior, the owner was walking around and talking to everyone, good service. My husband and I came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon after searching high & low for a restaurant that serves organic produce and healthy options. He has an auto-immune condition, and the menu is great for individuals looking for a place to support an anti-inflammatory diet. This is not a place for those who consider themselves big carnivores, but it is good for those who are vegetarian or vegan. Expanding their selection could make it more palatable for all, but for now I think the clientele who will embrace and enjoy the food here is limited. It might have been a bad day in the kitchen, but our food was so salty it was not edible. The food looked fantastic, colorful and full of vegetables - but it didn't taste good. We would go back because the menu is promising, but I would lean toward ordering moderate / minimal seasoning. We took the food to go, and it was much better once we mixed it with eggs and other veggies to dilute the amount of salt. I wish they would incorporate meat into the menu, such as organic free-range beef or chicken- but, that's less of a complaint and more feedback to the restaurant on how they may be able to broaden their audience. I don't recommend Plant Gossip for large groups or gatherings with varying tastes, it is not one of those places where everyone can find something they like on the menu. Other than our very salty meal, service was very friendly and relatively quick. The location is very walkable from DT CDA and the place has a nice vibe. If you're looking for healthy, plant-based options - this is the spot!
