Fresh sushi every time! This is my family's go-to sushi place in Arlington. Avocado bomb is really good, and we usually order it as our appetizer. My parents really like their spicy sashimi bowl, that comes with lots of sashimi, rice, veggies, and spicy sauce. Also, it comes with miso soup! All sushi rolls I've tried are soooo good and fresh! The food at Sushi Cafe is great!! We keep going back because of the food but the service is terrible. It's such a shame especially since the food is so good. Don't go if you are in a hurry because it will take forever and not because the sushi chefs aren't quick because the servers are so unorganized and inefficient. We will give it one more try but if the service is anything like it has been, it will be our last visit. The sushi/shashimi bento box is awesome and so is the spicy ramen. Seriously, great food! Well was really excited to give it a try. Waited 10 minutes. No hello. No greeting. Empty tables and 3 servers walked by and never said a word. Sushi looked good. Omg I love this place so much! I love quite a few rolls on the menu but the most memorable are the Hot Mama roll and the spicy California roll. Seriously so delicious. I had the bento teriyaki salmon box and my salmon was burned, rock hard, rubbery and tasted burned. When we spoke to the manager/ owner he gave us excuses as to why it was over cooked. He blamed it on how the salmon was extra thick so he had to turn up the heat on it to cook it. He offered to cut off the burned parts and bring me more teriyaki glaze because he said it wasn't burned in the inside but it clearly was over cooked and dry. This is my 3rd time having this teriyaki salmon box and it has never been this way. It was very disappointing! I don't know if I ever want to come back. read more

I highly recommend you try their specialty rolls such as the VIP Roll, Incredible Roll, and especially the Cowboy Roll (with Beef tenderloin) it is wonderful. So glad this place is in Arlington! We come here all the time and the head sushi chef is always really sweet. It can get busy some evenings but worth the little wait. Would recommend getting the butterfly roll, Caribbean roll, ladybug roll, cafe special roll, & ahi tower. My son loves their bacon fried rice! read more

The food is good and at a great price. They have great lunch specials. Then only negative thing I can say about this place is that they have been short staff about three times that I have been there. The poor server was running around trying to serve everyone at the restaurant. So it took a little while before we get served and received our food. Tried this place again and they have changed and improved so much! Quality is pretty good for Arlington standards and prices are super reasonable. The rolls originally priced are already pretty cheap and as long as you get to happy hour before 7pm on weekdays, you will be able to get happy hour prices for the rest of the time you're there! I'm pretty much a sushi fanatic & I've worked at a sushi restaurant for awhile and this place was just a disappointment. my boyfriend and I were in Arlington for some business, and I was craving sushi. I found this place on yelp and it had 4 stars so I said why not. I should've known it would be bad just by the name, sushi "cafe," no real good sushi place would name their place that. we ordered edamame, shrimp tempura, seaweed salad, 3 rolls (volcano & I can't remember the other two) salmon & ebi nigiri and a chicken yakisoba. the appetizers were okay, when I asked the server for ponzu sauce she said they didn't have any.. and I just thought she was mediocre because I clearly read they had beef tataki with ponzu sauce lol the sauce she brought me was disgusting. other than that the service was good, refills when needed. I tipped 20%, no hesitation. I mainly didn't like this place because of the sushi, I ate one piece of each and the rice was so mushy and was on the sour side. whenever I tried picking up a roll it would just fall apart. I had one bite of the salmon nigiri and almost threw up, that's how bad it was. I feel bad for giving a bad review but I literally didn't even touch the sushi. I left it there on the table all nearly complete. my bf wanted to take it togo bc he thought he would be insulting to leave it all there untouched. i said no because they need to know it was bad. the yaki soba was good and that's the only thing I enjoyed. Cleanliness in a restaurant is very important to me and this place is 5/5 on that. I've been to every sushi restaurant in town, this place beats every one of them with the quality food and exceptionally attentive service. This place is a hidden gem! Not only is the sushi here fantastic, but they have best deals for lunch and dinner I've seen anywhere else. The staff here are all so sweet; the chef even came by to see if we were doing okay. We got the avocado bomb to start off with.. Which was amazing! Then the salmon avocado roll, volcano roll, caribbean roll, and the feast roll. Everything was more than delicious. The caribbean roll is wrapped in cucumber, which was cut so delicately, and didn't mask the flavor of the fish, but complimented it. I've had this roll at many other places and it's always just been maybe a little more than average and it always fell apart. The sushi here never fell apart on me. Alright so I've been back a few times since initial experience. Dropping the stars down to 3. I was able to pay attention to a few things this time that I overlooked last time. The other reviews that comment on their service. I can agree with them. Service lacks. I still like the bento boxes but going without a Groupon isn't advisable. Perhaps I was so digging on this place the first time because I didn't really pay out of pocket and "free" food always tastes better. The sushi is still okay. Not the best but better than a lot of places around here (Arlington). I still enjoy the private seating. That is nice. The spicy chicken is true to its word. My husband didn't like the kim chi. I love this place. First, size. It's small, and quaint. It means that you receive personal attention. They waiting staff is awesome. Also the attention from Uncle, which brings up point two. Quality. Uncle is the man who prepares the sushi. For a place that serves quality sushi, this must be his craft, his purpose. This is the case at Sushi Cafe. I came here on a Thursday for lunch and although the sushi wasn't bad, the service could be better. It looks as though it was understaffed. One lady was waiting over 10 mins to just pay her bill and was about to walk out. I walked in not knowing what to do. Do I wait to be seated or do I seat myself? I had the sushi special which had salmon, tuna, white tuna, shrimp, and red snapper nigiri and spicy salmon roll. I have only been to Sushi Cafe about 3 times total? Each time I went, I loved. Our server was friendly, she checked on us, and always refilled our drinks. My favorite roll is the Samurai Roll! If you're a fan of raw, I would recommend that roll. I can tell the manager/owner is also nice and he cares about his customers. read more
