I don't normally write reviews, but I think this place deserves more credit than it's getting. Sushi Cafe has the BEST sushi in arlington! They have these wonderful booths with high backs that make the setting very intimate. This is the only place I go when I want sushi, so I have gone a lot and have never received service as bad as the other "critics" claim to have had. I have enjoyed myself every time I have gone. Service was great! We go the Texas , Cali and volcano roll. The volcano was the best, it was really rich and creamy and the presentation of it was nice. The texture was soo good, slightly warm, but didn't ruin the roll. The cucumber salad is a no. I was expecting more for a 4.50 side salad. It didn't had much flavor. Food is amazing here. I like sushi but don't love it. They have such a variety of options that are sushi but aren't.The avacado bombs are amazing. I love the little salad under the avocado bombs because the sauce mixed in is great. The fire crackers are also very good but ask to have the tuna subbed for crab. I think the crab taste way better then the tuna. The service is okay. There waitress are friendly but a little flighty. My fiancée and I come to Sushi Cafe for our weekday dates. We always come here because the sushi is good for the price and service is excellent. The waitresses are attentive and the sushi chefs are quick and very generous. Sometimes they will surprise us with seaweed salad or fish on the house. This is why we keep on coming back and will choose this restaurant over other local sushi restaurants any day..they've got it down! Oh! And you can't beat their happy hour deals! That's one of the best things about this place. UPDATE: just came to sushi cafe again. It's been a while since we have been traveling recently and have been just so busy. But I think they deserve another review. If I could give sushi cafe ten stars, I would. Not only do they have great sushi at a very reasonable price, they have the greatest service, ever. They are very generous on their sashimi bowl; large, juicy pieces of fresh fish served on top of perfectly seasoned rice. Tonight we had received a complimentary mini sashimi bowl. This is the "go-to" sushi place with friends/family. The staff is very nice and accomodating. It's a small restaurant, but worth the wait (if you ever have one) they're decently priced and have different sushi specials. It's in a bit of an awkward location (next to cindie's lingerie) but I guess that makes it easier to find? Haha they have different types of sake choices as well. My favorite is the Lychee. I went here once with my friend because we heard about their awesome lunch specials, and they really are! Honestly, they have so many and they're so cheap. I also appreciate how there's a little more variety of rolls you can choose for the special- they're not like most other places where you can just choose from California or shrimp tempura. My friend got the 3 roll and I got the 2 roll. My meal was only 6.95 and I got a salad :O or you can get soup... He had a friend working and I honestly can't remember what we ordered hahah my bad.. but it was good! You can always ask them what they recommend (even though I know some waiters hate that) Maybe it was because we drank sake... But I remember being pretty full off two rolls. I think it was a really good deal and better than average sushi. They had tons of other specials to choose from, such as udon and bento boxes. this is my go-to sushi place in arlington! their rolls are high quality and if you go during happy hour, they have BOGO half off which is a really great deal for sushi. also, this place can get pretty crowded during dinner rush hour. the fish here is always so fresh and the plating is beautiful. if you go with a large group and order a lot, it'll come on a cute sushi boat. my favorite roll is the special dragon roll. i also love their udon soup (comes with vegetable tempura), bento boxes (really good deal for lunch), and basically all of their appetizers. their staff is very friendly and service is quick. the main chef is the cutest, nicest old man ever!! he notices how often i come and occasionally gives me free seaweed salad or dessert. love him!! this place is a must if you're a sushi lover! i highly recommend it! read more

I've been here a handful of times and I really enjoy the food here. I won't say it's spectacular or mind blowing but it definitely satisfies my craving for sushi & sashimi. I admit to being biased because it's super close to where I live, and I wouldn't travel from outside of Arlington to go here, but if you are in the area and in need of a sushi fix, this is a great option. It compares with a lot of your standard Japanese/Sushi restaurants, so don't expect anything much different or particular. They have some delicious rolls and I'm a fan of their Bento Boxes. Their lunch special was a great deal too, $14 got me 5 pc sushi (5 dif kinds but I can't remember what they all were), 6 pc sashimi (3 salmon, 3 tuna), 4 pc California roll, salad, miso soup, and 2 pc gyoza. I was very hungry and ate the entire thing and my friend and I even shared the ahi Tuna tower which I also enjoyed too. I def think their lunch specials are more than worth it. Oh and they have a sake happy hour from 5pm to close for cheap too! The interior is a nice simple Japanese inspired design, making for an inviting place with nice staff. I came here around noon and the only reason why I took a star away was because there was only one person serving 5 parties as well as working the front counter, I definitely feel like she was understaffed and that was one of the reasons why the service wasn't as good as it should have been.
