The cocktails are well crafted, and the service was attentive, friendly, and very helpful throughout the visit. The food menu has some really great options, while a few dishes feel more average, but overall there's enough variety to enjoy alongside drinks and sports. The location is excellent, especially being so close to the beach and South Pointe area, though parking can be challenging since many spots are often taken by beach visitors. Still, it's definitely a great place to relax for drinks, food, and live sports.

Nachos: Looked like the cheese was baked on and then sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo were added afterwards. Cheese was a little burnt, but manageable. Was decent. I mean any nachos are good nachos when watching a game, right? Wings: There were six wings in an order with 4 drumettes and 2 flats. They came "naked", which had me skeptical at first. But then I realized I could really soak these bad boys in buffalo sauce to make them spicier than the normal pre-tossed variety. Shrimp Cocktail: There were four large shrimp in an order. Much bigger sized than party platters of cocktail shrimp from the grocery store. Loved the whole glass full of cocktail sauce and horseradish. Probably my favorite thing here.

The bustling, cavernous dining room with its classic wooden accents and lively atmosphere creates an unforgettable setting for a classic seafood feast. The service was remarkably polished and attentive, carrying on decades of legendary hospitality. The food exceeded every expectation: the iconic Crab Claws were sweet, succulent, and perfectly chilled, while the decadent Lobster Mac offered ultimate rich comfort. Surprisingly, their classic Fried Chicken delivered a golden, perfectly crispy bite, and the Creamed Spinach rounded out the meal as an ideal, savory side dish.

Walking in you get that old school feel with the staff dressed to the tee and very friendly. They had a special pre fixe menu that was fairly priced which allowed me to try a lot of the menu instead of having to order a la carte. Our server was professional and terse but in a way that I didn't mind and he even scolded some other busboys for taking too long to clear our table which I found funny but appreciated too. I started with the Stuffies which were amazing! The baked clams were dressed up nicely and these were very tasty. The stone crabs were delicious and I loved the dipping sauce it came with. Granted we visited outside of stone crab season and so I'd love to come back when the crabs are more fresh and in season. It also came with sides of hash browns, creamed spinach, and a grilled tomato. While I appreciate the quantity and variety they gave, these sides were a miss for me. The pre fixe concluded with my choice of the Key Lime Pie which was a nice ending for the meal. Nicely balanced between tart and sweetness. My only note would be for the crust layer to be bigger since it would help balance out the pie portion a bit better. We also got the fried chicken which is a steal for only $9. Excellent and crispy skin and very moist! The only dry piece was the breast unfortunately, but otherwise it's hard to find a better fried chicken at this price.

We were looking for something quick, easy, and very local to where we were staying in South Beach…read moreafter dropping big coin the night before. I did a search on Yelp and came across Mehzcla which had a number of high rated reviews. I always read the bad reviews to see what people are complaining about but do so with a grain of salt. The complaints were regarding service and price, which I will address. Mehzcla is the hotel restaurant for the Lord Balfour and consists of patio seating and seats in the lobby and lobby bar. The night we went, there was bartender/server and another server handling the restaurant. It wasn't terribly busy and looked like a number of people were just having drinks on the patio where we sat which provided great people watching on Ocean Drive. They have a happy hour with $10 mixed drinks, appetizers, and meals that runs until 8 pm. The restaurant is billed as Latin but I'd say it was more of pub fare with maybe a Latin flare. The two servers rotated taking care of us and were polite, friendly, but hard to find from time to time. We ordered mixed drinks which could have used more alcohol but were tasty. I had a mescal margherita with a spiced rim (which I had to request and describe). Had the hot fried chicken sandwich and had no complaints about the chicken. The sandwich came with fries which were pretty good. Only complaint is that I like to have my fries spiced up, which most restaurants can accommodate. I asked the server for my fries to be spiced and gave several options on how to do it. Fries came out plain with no explanation why my request was not accommodated. Had the churros for dessert. Three large churros covered in cinnamon sugar with chocolate and Carmel dipping sauce. The churros were good except one was a little over cooked. It was an ok experience for something quick and not having to spend a ton of money. Still much better options in SoBe.

My favorite was the short ribbed empanadas and the chicken and sweet potato waffles. Yum!!! There is valet available at the front of the hotel and the closest parking garage is on 7th.

Music spills out onto the sidewalk, the staff greets you like long-lost cousins, and the Colombian food? It punches above its weight. Ceviche that snaps with citrus and heat. The food was okay at best, honestly probably the weakest part of the whole experience. But that's not really why you go. The live music, the open dance floor, the whole vibe and atmosphere here is top notch. Came here for my birthday week and had such a fun, amazing time. We were thoroughly engaged with the band the whole night, they even handed us instruments to play along with at one point, which is not something that happens at most restaurants. Service was great, and the staff genuinely seemed to be having as much fun with us as we were having with them. Come for the party, not the plate, and you'll leave happy.

There's an intense dynamic of action throughout this joint- upstairs and downstairs. There's professional performers on the center bar top. Walk to the back and there's another live performance complete with more dancers and singing with a dance floor at the stage. What's upstairs? There is DJ dancing - popular high energy music. The drinks are definitely expensive, but that is to be expected in South Beach. The only complaint is the bartenders I visited on the bottom floor to the left bar in the back and upstairs in the DJ room looked like they did not want to be there. Perhaps, this place is too wild for a continuous eight hour shift? Who knows. The jovial atmosphere in this place makes you forget quickly though. I think I stayed here until 2am dancing my ass off. Then, when I received my bill, there was an additional $0.25 'health insurance' charge. The amount isn't the issue--it's the principle. Costs like employee health insurance should be built into prices, not added as surprise fees. To make matters worse, when I asked about the charge, the server couldn't explain what it was or why it was being added, so I left with more questions than answers. Between the cover charge, unexpected fees, and lack of transparency, the whole experience felt like a tourist trap. Customers deserve clear pricing and straightforward explanations of any charges before they're added to the bill.
