Went with family from out of town, 10 Of us total, and we were seated almost immediately. Chuck was our server and it turned out he was from the same area as our cousins. He took our drink orders quickly and brought them right out then we all ordered our meals. The kids decided to check out the beach while we adults got caught up on family stuff. Food arrived fast and hot with no issues. Everything tasted fantastic! I love the fact that Surf Hut appreciates us locals and gives us a discount. We all really enjoyed our meals as well as the fact the we could actually carry on a conversation without yelling. My husband and I have always enjoyed coming here and meeting friends or family from out of town. It's the perfect spot on the water for a meal or just drinks and then a stroll a the beautiful beach!! read more

Server charged dinner menu price for lunch request and wasn't willing to correct. Food was average at best and service was horrendous. He took order and brought bill back at end of meal and then waited 10 mins to get the change back. read more

Great spot on the beach! Surf Hut is apparently a classic in my family, as we went here many years ago when I was younger and we came back for more this past summer. While we were waiting to be seated, my mom, sister, and I enjoyed the cornhole courts that were set up as the sun was setting. We had so much fun - a great way to pass the time! When we were seated after about 20 minutes, we got a spot on the patio overlooking the beach. For food, we split a dip and I got the tacos. You really can't go wrong with fish tacos, so they were great! Overall good spot & another good experience at the Surf Hut! read more

Surf Hut - Manager was not nice in purple. - Seafood Near Me - Destin, Florida

Great food. Beautiful location. Nice servers. We had a wonderful time there. Parking is easy.

Bar service is a bit rude and not helpful and drinks are weak but sweet and pretty. Server was okay but food was so so for some dishes. Burger was average ribs okay. Appetizer are hit and miss so skip pickles fried. The place had a party feel with some guest hyped. Food was a little pricey. read more

All around great experience. Place was packed on a holiday weekend yet we still had quick and excellent service. You cannot beat dinner with a beach view. Plenty of parking. The decor is classic beach old ship vibes. We got a variety of fish, all tasty. Large portions, come ready to eat. read more

Very family friendly. Fresh seafood and none seafood options for the whole family. Great service with views of the beach.

the food was super mid. We ordered the shrimp and crab dip, shrimp tacos, stuffed shrimp entree, and kids cheeseburger sliders. Nothing was anything we would ever come back for. read more

My husband and I have eaten here four nights in a row! this is an amazing place! The food is exceptional. the atmosphere is fun and it's so clean! We loved it every night! We have tried several dishes and everything is phenomenal and priced perfectly! read more

CJ was absolutely amazing. Excellent service and personality. We will definitely ask for him when we come back! Thank you!

Unfortunately I was just stopping in so I only had appetizers and drinks but everything was great. The restaurant itself is a cute beach restaurant but what really makes it is the beach view in the back! It gets kind of busy at night but they had a main food front and back patio so there's more than enough room. The bartenders were also great and made amazing drinks! read more

Food was amazing. Atmosphere 10/10. Drinks so good. BUT OUR SERVER... TERRIBLE Honestly I was so excited to eat here and our waiter cared about everyone else besides us. read more

Meh. Came here mostly because of the view which did not disappoint. However, the food and drinks were nothing special. The impossible burger was good and I am happy that they offer a vegan option as nowhere else in Destin really does. The fish tacos were okay, and the drinks were alright. The chips were stale and guac mushy. Our server was nice and the food came pretty quick, but I think it is overpriced for what it is and you are definitely just paying for the view. read more

Heard good things about the food but was very disappointed with the service. The staff forgot that we were there and forgot our food. We will not be returning and do not recommend coming here. We had to leave early because the table they were getting ready for us was taken by someone who walked in 40 minutes later than us. Once we got to the table they proceeded to leave us with out even asking our drinks for another 30 minutes. read more

Good service and beautiful location right on the water. Food was good. We loved the grilled fish and shrimp taco plates.

First time to Destin & picked The Surf Hut because it was on the beach and had good reviews! Very glad we stopped in. Great service & fast! Hot fried shrimp with Florida cocktail sauce. Will stop back in sometime! read more

I can't believe we waited until our last day to eat here. This place is soooo good. If we had known it would have been a repeat on our list during vacation. My husband had a fried gulf shrimp dish and I had the chicken shish kabobs. So tasty! We also had bar drinks that were excellent!! The service was great and views from the patio are amazing. This is a must try if you are in the area. read more

Bartenders make sure you have an awesome experience. The friex crab claws are amazing!

Everything was amazing! Server the first night saved my meal by asking an important question about preferences in a food item. That simple question changed how I would have felt about my dinner!! We went back a second night and everything was amazing again! Sitting by the open windows with such a beautiful view was a treat!! Highly recommend! read more

Food was very greasy for starters , took an hour and a half to get a table for 9 and there were obviously tables open . The open air beach vibe is fine but they were running the AC and it was condensating and dripping on the food. read more

Good food, great service. Our plate came out, and the manager did not like the way it looked, and fixed it.

During our 2025 family vacation, my wife and I stopped by Surf Hut. We wanted to have a quick appetizer with a few drinks. We ended up with a dozen oysters. They were fresh and very good. We also found out we really enjoy their Pipeline drinks. They are very good and tasty, they went down to fast and easy. Overall we were happy with the experience, atmosphere and the services but we do find that their food and drinks are on a little on the high side. read more

We came for a date night. Both of us knowing what we wanted. Her having snow crab and me having oysters. The food was good; the service was good. We each had a drink. The mkt price on the snow crab was more than we expected in the end. I didn't love the pay situation they bring the iPad to you. Didn't automatically give you the receipt. I never truly seen what I was paying for. We were flabbergasted by the number. Give people the receipt in house automatically. Instead of just verbally amplifying the number. Definitely felt a weird pressure. The tip function on the iPad didn't say how much. It only said a percentage. Glad I did a custom number lower than all of their suggestions. Wouldn't go back are recommend. read more

Good fried seafood. Platter had oysters, fish, shrimp, and scallops. Very tasty. Decent drinks too.

Ate here for the second time last night and the food is always delicious! The Mahi Mahi and teriyaki chicken shish kabobs keep us coming back for more! We also love being able to sit out on the beach front patio! read more

Literally a walk from our condo on Miramar Beach. This restaurant was highly recommended and trust me, the food did not disappoint. I believe our server was overseated and became overwhelmed. Wow. Great spot on the beach. Atmosphere was relaxing and laid back. Our waitress Bailey was so sweet and helpful. The food was awesome. I had the bbq ribs and chicken kabob combo both were tender and full of flavor. We also had the pulled pork and shrimp tacos and were delicious. Our appetizer was the cheese sticks. The portion was disappointing as you only get 5 small triangles for $14 which is pricey and not enough for family of 4. Overall def go back but only negative was price. Felt everything was about $4 more than should've cost. read more

Let's just say we were satiated!! The flavors popped on the tongue & our bellies were more than full!!! Mahi Mahi fried offered with a light corn meal batter left us excited to come back for more!! Food is good, service is awful. Very rude and unfriendly. I recommend if you expect good food and terrible service.

You come here for the ambience. It's right on the beach, beautiful views, great staff and really excellent food. I had mahi grilled over rice and vegetables, son had the best fried fish we've had in a while with fried and my wife loved her mahi sandwich. We walked on the beach while we waited for food, I had a great local beer, and Amos was the best server you could possibly ask for. Super kind, very fast and amazing recommendations. Ask for him. The only thing I could dong them on is price. This is really expensive (easily $35 to $50 per person for meal and drink), but their special were really great value! Mahi grilled with right, $19. Happy hour drinks on weekdays, super cheap. Come on a weekday in off season for an early dinner for one of the best food experiences in Destin. Come in peak season on a weekend and get ready for a massive bill, super busy bar and a long wait for a table. We'll be back but only with some thought about when. read more

I had a great experience at Surf Hut last night. Our waiter, Clark, was very welcoming and helpful. He recommended the shrimp and grits. It was absolutely delicious! I've been a grits girl all my life and these were cooked properly. They were extra creamy and the flavor of the gravy and shrimp was spicy. It was a little nippy outside, so this definitely warmed me up. They have an outdoor sandy area with a beautiful view of the beach for corn hole and additional sitting. Thanks Clark and Surf Hut! read more
