In fact, we drove from Amsterdam specifically to dine at this restaurant, which was recommended by a friend.

However, when we tried this place, I was super surprised! Red Jedjeki was packed on a Wednesday evening. We didn't have reservations, but we were fortunate the sweet lady found a place for us to sit. I must say, this is hands down the best Indonesian food in the world! We ordered the menu for 2 people. A mixture of different dishes. Their side nasi goreng is ok, but everything else we had was so heavenly. I especially enjoyed their beef stew, sprouts with peanut sauce, picked cucumbers and carrots, green beans and boiled egg with a red sauce on top. Now, if you can tell me where else they have Indonesian food like Redjeki's, then please do share and I'll take a trip out there! Thank you guys for an awesome experience. We did have left overs and had it for lunch today. Well done to the lady and gentlemen who worked at Redjeki last night. We had a wonderful experience! It's worth the 5 stars. This is the place to visit if you want to try some Indonesian food in the Netherlands! Plus, Delft is such a cute town!

The restaurant offers a varied menu inspired by classic Indonesian dishes and promotes a relaxed welcoming atmosphere with the option to request specific dishes in advance including lobster or seafood with prior notice. We were seated without a reservation which was convenient and appreciated. The service was a bit grumpy and not the warmest but still attentive and functional throughout the meal. While the hospitality did not fully match the restaurant's stated philosophy it did not ruin the experience. The food itself was good and satisfying with rich flavors that felt true to Indonesian home style cooking. The rice table in particular looked absolutely delicious and tempting though our group ended up ordering more selectively due to picky eaters at the table. It is definitely something I would want to try on a future visit. Overall SAMPURNA delivers solid Indonesian food and a genuine traditional approach. Despite imperfect service I would return especially to try the rice table next time.

We ordered the Kuning Rice Table, the smallest of the three tasting-menu-style options. Despite being the smallest it came with an unbelievable amount of food! I loved getting to try so many different indonesian dishes, everyone loved something different! The service was very fast, and the food was brought out on hot plates to keep everything warm. They are also very accommodating for vegetarian/vegans - they were able to swap out the meat dishes for the vegetarian in our group while still doing the full-table tasting menu.

Best meal of the year! My first experience with Indonesian food and our lovely waitress Gayetrie…read moredid a wonderful job of guiding us through the menu. Everything looked amazing, so she helped us narrow down the options. We had a sampling of starters that featured a fish cake, pickled vegetables, pork sate, spring roll and banana leaf wrapped rice roll. We also had a sampling of the satay, that included pork, chicken, lamb and beef. Best satay I've ever had - flavors are perfect and spice amount is just right. For entrees, we had the banana leaf wrapped fish and the lamb dish. Each dish was prepared to perfection with just enough spice to bring out the flavors of the fish and lamb. Service was outstanding! If you are in the mood for the best meal you've had all year, come here.

And actually we should have gone way before today, as the food was great :-) For example for starters, we took amongst other satays. In the Netherlands, a satay is normally some meat which is drown under peanut sauce. Not at all here, those were simply very nice skewers with a gentle touch of different meats and sauces. The steam cooked crab and fish cooked in a banana leave was simply excellent. Then for main some chicken, simple and delicious, and lam, with so many fantastic spices. So this place offers very refined Indonesian food, without the usual heavy food of other "traditional" Indonesian restaurant in the Netherlands. For the service, it's good and efficient, nothing special to say about that one.
