Turmeric rice, chicken satay, wok veges snd seabass in banana peel.

Amazing rice dishes. A grilled sea bass dish must have been an error, it was too hot to eat.

Amazing Indonesian cuisine in Amsterdam. Wide selection catering to vegetarians and all dietary requirements. The staff are super helpful with selecting dishes. It has a cosy atmosphere and won't break the bank!

Welcome entrance - 'come and eat!'

We had some krupuk (crackers), sea bass, fried noodles, spring rolls and mixed satay, followed by the spectacular mixed dessert platter. It was all delicious, although some of the crackers could have been a bit crispier. Service was excellent, ambience great. Including the bottle of Viognier we had with it and coffee afterwards it came to about 40 Euros a head. Definitely recommend.

Amazing dining experience! The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming and I loved…read morethe ambiance of the restaurant and seating with the tables built to keep the food warm. It was nice that they allow people to order the rijsttafel for 1, and I saw a number of people doing this. Rijsttafel Authentiek: pisang goreng, sate kambing, sate ayam, ikan mentega, acar ketimun, sambal goreng kentang, gado gado, sayur lodeh, kerang asam manus, terong sambel ijo, ayam rica rica, danging rendang, telor kuning, nasi putih, nasi goreng, krupuk, serundeng, sambal. (They warn you that the sambal is very spicy and it is :)) Everything was delicious-my highlights were the ikan mentega, gado gado, sate, and sambal.

Excellent Indonesian restaurant named after the color blue but the decor inside is red. Speaking of…read morethe interior, it's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. In fact, there's a second-floor dining area that you probably wouldn't notice unless they sit you there. Ordered the following: - Chicken Satay - 10/10: best satay I've ever had. Hands down. The sauce is impeccable. Super savory. No need to dip it in anything. Chicken is moist and tender. Categorized as a side dish, but this really is a main event. Every table was ordering it. - Beef Rendang - 6.8/10: nice flavor. Medium spice. Beef is tender, but I wish they used fattier cuts of meat. Would elevate this dish definitely. - Prawns - 7/10: had some nice heat. Prawns were tender and full of flavor, but kind of small. Dishes came with a variety of small add-ons that's a bit hard to describe. I guess if I had to I'd say it was the equivalent of Korean banchan - an assortment of side dishes like potato strings and veggies. Loved them all. Service was excellent and friendly. Prices are a bit steep, but fair with what you're getting. Definitely recommend!

Shortly before 8pm, there was a steady line of four or five people waiting to get takeway. Like…read moremany other warungs in Amstersdam, the food is made in advance and reheated in the microwave. I think many Indonesian dishes are not hurt by this, and especially rendang benefits from at least a day of maturing. The little lady behind the counter was friendly and efficient, quickly portioning food and using all four microwaves. Again I got the Ramas menu (€8,60) and I substituted bami for nasi, which costs €0,60 extra. I also noticed that they had Sambal Ikan (€3.00), so I added that to my order. There are only a couple tables to sit at, fortunately I was planning to take my food home and eat it later anyway. When I finally got around to eating it, I quickly noticed that it was searing my mouth! That's perfect for me, who uses El Yucateco hot sauce liberally on my eggs in the morning; definitely avoid the items marked as spicy if you can't take the heat. Again, I regretted getting bami and should have gotten nasi kuning instead. It costs the same and is more bland so it goes well with the other salty sides. Sambal Ikan turned out to be mackerel, which I love! And this was no exception. The oily fish went perfectly with the spicy sauce, and I was given a lot of it! I also got spicy eggplant, spicy egg, spicy tempe, and spicy green beans. Hooo~ my mouth was on fire afterwards. I can see why the place is so popular!
