I visited here in 2018 when I was backpacking in the Netherlands because I stayed at the King Kong hostel nearby. This place absolutely saved my palate after weeks of deep-fried seafood (with mayo), fries (with mayo/peanut sauce and onion), and many hash joints. I still remember I got the nasi goreng and chicken sate, and they were absolutely godsends, especially after a long time of having the flavour I was not the biggest fan of (mayo). I remember I brought a kiwi with me for this meal, and the flavour also blew her mind as she hadn't had anything like this in her own adventure in the Netherlands. Being a solo traveler and not being the best of planners. It's nice there are sites like yelp and tripadvisor out there to help relieve some of those 'uhh, what am I going to do today' moments. I was staying at the awesome City Hub down the block and decided to check this restaurant out. I went by fellow Yelper Michelle S's recommendation of the Gado Gado and Chicken with noodles. One would think, prices would be high like that of Amsterdam. The portions were big and good value. A lot of locals as well as tourists were here in this Witte de With establishment. This is a nice little place for some great Indonesian food. They do offer an English menu, but ask for it while you are waiting in line as they keep it away from the counter. One of the workers recommended the Saoto chicken soup, which is the most popular dish on their menu. The broth was light and very flavourful and there's a generous amount of shredded chicken with a hard-boiled egg. Served with a small bowl of white rice, this is definitely a must-try. I also had a bite of their soya chicken noodle, which had a great balance of flavours. Usually, I worry that fried noodle dishes may be too oily, but thankfully this isn't the case at Warung Mini. Couldn't leave the Netherlands without some Indonesian food. Warung Mini is somewhat fast casual, where you order at the front and they bring you your food. But their portion sizes make it a real sitdown place (because you get a TON of food). I went with the mixed meat platter. It came with chicken skewers in a satay sauce over a salad, and a pork stew over stir fried noodles, white rice, leafy greens, and topped with a hard boiled egg and shrimp crisps. Like I said, a TON of food. I'm ashamed to say I finished it all. The pork was my favorite. Definitely a meal you can share with someone else. The place is also open late so if you're craving some cheap but delicious Indonesian food after a night of drinking, you're in luck! read more

Traveling through the Netherlands for a conference, I made a stop for a day in Rotterdam and am so glad I found this spot to have dinner in. I opted for take-away to continue working on presentations in my hotel room. The main location is at the address listed here on Yelp but for take-away I was directed to their smaller store just a few stores down at #53. Unfortunately not knowing much Dutch I was a bit lost with the menu but the gentleman taking my order was very accommodating and I ended up ordering the boneless chicken roti. The food took a while to get out to me but it was well worth the wait. Opening up the mix of cabbage, potato, chicken, and boiled then fried egg with the incredibly savory sauce instantly brought a smile to my face. Delicious, hearty flavor with a side of very tasty, thin roti bread. Everything was perfect! I would have never known how good the Dutch Indonesian food is here if it wasn't for stumbling across this place on Yelp and will now be sharing this insight with everyone I know coming for a visit from the US! read more

I am addicted to Warung Mini! Once every two weeks at least I go there, it's so comfortable and relaxing and the food is great! I often take vegetable roti, it's my favorite dish! I tried also the soup and the 'snacks', they are really good too! The restaurant have just been renovated, there aren't many seats and you can't book so during the week end it's quite impossible to have dinner with a group. But no problem, in the week end it's open until 6 in the morning! :) read more

The soup itself is flavorful with shredded chicken and bean spouts. Perfect for winter time. You order at counter and seat yourself. never had indonesian food but knowing the connection between the dutch and indonesians. we had to find a restaurant to end our time in holland! this place is on one of the main party streets in rotterdam. it is open late (i think until 1 am?) we went at 9 pm and there were SO many people eating. it is cheap and so delicious. you order at the counter and then have to nab a seat on your own. a waiter will bring the food out to you BUT you need to find a place to sit first. we got the lamb curry (which was absolutely delicious and rich. it reminded me of a satay sauce but way better) the bokchoy was a bit overcooked but i would still order this again. i also would say that the chicken noodle soup was my favorite!! it has crispy wonton wrappers in it. it is light but rich at the same time. we also got the chicken and potato curry with naan. (this naan is not like indian naan but still good). there is not one bad thing i could say about this place. i wish there was a place in the US like this. read more

Really good Indonesian food (apparently the Netherlands is the best place to get Indonesian food in Europe). The staff were very nice, and the restaurant was very clean. We had chicken skewers with peanut sauce and fried rice on the side, their specialty soup that included chicken pieces and a whole boiled egg (saoto soup), and a deep fried plantain with peanut sauce - all for €15!
