On a cold and wet Saturday afternoon I was longing for some food cooked with care and love as well as it being nourishing. I decided to look at the menu at small Asia and the pictures of the rendang as well as the sight of freshly baked pandan cake lured me inside. A quiet place with decor of trees on the ceiling and service with a smile. Service was fast and friendly and the music pianoesk and just right.. I settled on the rendang whilst munching on the free cassava krupuc and after a short wait ( I decided not to have some of the delicious sounding starters , dimsum, miso soup, spring rolls, prawns ,fried chicken all around the 3 euro mark) my rendang arrived. A huge plate with beef rendang that you could cut with a spoon and full of flavour, sided with vegetables in a very light curry , a fried boiled egg and fluffy white rice....wholesome with love and soooo good!.
I decided on the pineapple cookies and Jasmin tea to finish. For someone who can't handle sugar to well these cookies were perfect.. That and 3 pastry cookies for 2 euros?? ( all their sweets were around that price mark) Who could resist right ?? So thumbs up for this quiet small piece of Asia in Rotterdam :) read more
