A genuinely hospitable man, who loves to serve you the food he and his family been making over the years. With every order he'll remind you to "eat slowly", which is something that I never fully understood, but undoubtedly means something along the lines of "if you eat slowly, you can enjoy it better". My recommendation: have a "tja sieuw" sandwich in the sun. Pickles and sambal? Yes of course. Afobaka is no miracle, but its sandwiches are great and Jimmy can be considered a hidden gem of Rotterdam.

I would take the time to write what options you should choose, but I suggest just going there and see for yourselves. Mevrouw Meijer can handle the whole package; well-componed menu, great service, great food (well prepared and high-quality groceries), friendly environment. They were very well staffed: more chefs and waiters than they actually needed even though the house was full. No need for waiting particularly long for either food or service. The chef came out from the kitchen and talked to us about the sauce. We where very satisfied when we walked from the restaurant and will definitely highly recommend this place to all of our friends. 34 Euros for a 3-course dinner is very well worth it at Mevrouw Meijer.

Very good idea :-) food is of good quality and tasty (nice sandwiches and salads). The location is great: in the middle of town, with loads of other cafes and restaurant around. The place itself is very nice: huge old ceilings, a big bar, lots of place between tables. Only downside: it's quite noisy. As for the service: friendly and efficient.
