In the end hotpot is (food-wise) all about the soup, meat and vegetables. The meat was pretty mediocre so all in all don't go to RP if you want quality produce. Also, the service isn't very good. The waiters look very busy even though the place isn't packed. When they do come to your table it tends to be a bit chaotic or they don't really seem to listen to any requests.

You know, something to make you feel welcomed in the restaurant... Then they seat you. Second thing that comes from their mouth; "If you don't finish your food, we will charge you extra per piece." Ok... How about explaining the menus with excitement and happy vibes first? Why start off with the whole "YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED!" Vibe? Jeesh... the manager made everything feel so awkward. She was not friendly. The employees looked abused and unhappy. I've never seen anything like it before. Their spirits completely broken. Probably due to toxic management. The food is mediocre sushi as best. I've traveled all over the world for sushi... and there is no way this stuff is worth what they are charging. It tastes like generic grocery store to-go sushi, to be completely honest. It's not horrible, but it's not great either. Just basic and overpriced. Just disappointing. I've spoken to multiple people who've had this same experience at this particular restaurant. My solution- Improve staff training and interpersonal skills. This place absolutely saved my palate after weeks of deep-fried seafood (with mayo), fries (with mayo/peanut sauce and onion), and many hash joints. I still remember I got the nasi goreng and chicken sate, and they were absolutely godsends, especially after a long time of having the flavour I was not the biggest fan of (mayo). I remember I brought a kiwi with me for this meal, and the flavour also blew her mind as she hadn't had anything like this in her own adventure in the Netherlands. I was staying at the awesome City Hub down the block and decided to check this restaurant out. I went by fellow Yelper Michelle S's recommendation of the Gado Gado and Chicken with noodles. One would think, prices would be high like that of Amsterdam. The portions were big and good value. A lot of locals as well as tourists were here in this Witte de With establishment. I was pretty full after the meal. It was a pretty nice stroll down Witte de Withstraat back to City Hub.
