Overall, I was quite pleased with my late evening jaunt for a meal after a long day and week of travel. As the weather was cold and a little snowy, some hot pho was the solution I was seeking. Service was spot on and quite timely, professional, and friendly. As planned I ordered pho and found they did have a large bowl not shown on the menu. It was flavorful, although the broth seemed seasoned and dark more than light and more traditional. The broth could have also been hotter. The spring rolls were well done and quite fresh. When I was in Rotterdam, I took to Little V to fulfill my Asian cravings. It was one of my favorite restaurants in the Netherlands. It is on the bougie side with tapa-style dishes, making it pricier than average for Vietnamese food. However, there is some flexibility in what you order because of the smaller-sized, shareable dishes. I like Little V. I'm not going to lie, I don't think it has quite captured the depth of flavour and complexity that authentic Vietnamese stocks have with the hours and hours of cooking time, but it is a pleasant experience in it of itself. First of all, the service and decor here are on point. Everyone is so friendly and the environment is very well put together. I love the Asian porcelain dishware contrasted with the wooden tables, the staff is so lovely, and the menu. The menu here is what really made me happy. It is so well curated for those who love to explore Vietnamese cuisine. From the street snacks, to the one pot meals, to (my personal favorite) -the surprise menu where you let the chef cook for you you are not lacking in choice. I had the surprise lunch menu, which consisted of four parts - SO filling. All the dishes were different in texture and flavour and you really feel like the chef is taking you on a gastronomic journey through the Vietnamese cuisine. Very good food, very good atmosphere. After a long jam-packed day, it was time to end it with dinner. We went to few random locations and ended up in Little V in Rotterdam. Little V has a trendy restaurant we were basically the first guys whom came before the crowd. The staff warned about the open kitchen in the restaurant and recommended to have our coats taken. Our server first asked about our languages, I only understood English. And they actually have English version of the menus. Our server had a strong Dutch accent but spoke understandable English. He introduced every section of the menu and give a couple of recommendations. He tried to go into details on a few of the dishes which wasn't required since I kinda knew what dishes were basically. I am most critical when it comes to Vietnamese food and I found some of them are lacking a bit but still solid in taste. However service is so good that it deserves an extra star overall. The two curry dishes that was offered were good but a bit on the sweet side there wasn't much of a differences between the two curry dishes we ordered. The salad on the other hand has great texture but was bland. The lamb was actually pretty good, but not really memorable. I would give Little V three stars for their food but service is great enough to earn them another star. ----- + Pro: Great Service - Con: Some hits and missed on their versions of Vietnamese food. We arrived on a Tuesday evening around 8pm and the place was packed! Good sign. The place is very big and there are big tables for groups available. Little V has put a lot of attention in the interior and that worked out well. Five stars for the interior and decoration! The food was tasty, but one main was quite dissapointing after our high expectations. We had a shared the surprise-entry for two persons which consisted of four bites for each. A nice variation of several flavors. As main I had a big noodle soup with shrimps, crab, tofu and pork. The dish was served with a plate full of vegetables, peppers and coriander which I could add. Tasty and good. The crepe of my partner was not that special though, it did not have much flavor and the dish was rather dull. The service is quick and friendly, prices are reasonable. read more

The place looked nice and lively well located in a square with a church. We try the mixed starter. And it was deceiving the rolls where probably frozen or out of a ready made box and if they weren't is even worst. We also took a Bo-bun and a Pho soup. it all tasted like supermarket food (Albert hein ready made meals) full of sugar and with an unbalanced combination of spices. we will never return again in this place read more

After hours of wondering around Rotterdam, we finally ended up here at Little V. A decent Vietnamese restaurant, with very nice waitresses and waiters. The food is good, but for the price, I'm not sure if its worth it or not. It took us along time to even finish the starters, which kind of ruined my appetite for the main dish. Nice restaurant, with a rustic Asian flare. Menus are a rudder mat and a large variety of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I had the lotus tea and bloody berry tea. Lotus tea is a delicate green tea served in a glass Manson jar sugar rocks are provided on the side for your desired sweetness. The bloody berry is a red fruit tea with lemon and mint and has a dry aftertaste like some wines. The pho was good, came with a basil leaves. The beef And noodle Bun dish was good as well. Little V is a great Vietnamese fusion restaurant slightly out of the center of town. If you're familiar with the Laurens church, the church slash museum, than you're close. It's on the left side of the church a few doors down from the hip hop clothes store Gorelli. Little V has a lot of the good stuff Asia has to offer. The noodles and the meat are great. Even vegetarians feel comfortable here, they have enough to choose from too. My favorite is the glass noodle salad. The noodles are warm and the veggies cold, but the combo works perfectly. It's nice for a light lunch on a hot day. The soups are tasty too. Spicy and hot and lots of flavors. Their Jasmine tea goes on forever. You get it in a real Japanese iron teapot. It's really heavy too! But so pretty to see. It looks small, but it can hold a lot of tea. I was sharing the tea with 2 other people, at the end we were happy we finally finished it! Talking about drinks, they have amazing cocktails here. I had one with water melon and mint. It was divine! Especially on a hot day. They also have mock-tails, but they're so good, you don't even notice there isn't any alcohol in it. The interior is very nice, gives you the spirit of Asia.
