This Surah location is right next to the Upper Darby HMart which makes it convenient for a meal right after all that shopping. I've been to the other 2 Surah locations before, both are far larger than this one if space and seating is an issue for you, especially in COVID times. The meat quality was just OK. The best thing on the menu is probably the pork bulgogi and everything else was mostly meh. What I found most disappointing is that the spicy meat selections aren't necessarily marinated in anything, they just toss on a spicy sauce right before they bring it out to you and as such, the flavors are more bland compared to other KBBQ establishments. I compensated by asking for a side of gochuchang. Oh also, if you check in either on FB or IG and show it to them, they'll give you a free soda with your meal. With that being said, there was just a touch too much of cross-contamination between the meats for my personal comfort. The waitress kept offering to help cook the meat for us even though we were capable of managing it on our own. We would've appreciated the service more had they not continued to mix the raw meat tongs with the cooked meat tongs and use the same pair of scissors to cut the raw and cooked meats. I'm not confident that I'll be returning here any time soon.

The review is more 3.5 stars It is a bit on the pricier side for the quality of the meats. But overall, it's a pretty good meal. I've been here a total of 4 times, and every single time, they seem to be short staffed. The servers are on the friendlier side, unless you eat too much lol These trips were Pre-Covid, and a lot of the negative reviews seems to be Post-Covid. The regular meats are just average, but the marinated ones are definitely much better. I hope they get their stuff together and survive this quarantine.

Food was awesome and came out so quickly. Our server was really great and helpful. It was pretty empty so it was very quiet, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. We got the all you can eat but the server (I am assuming it was the owner) let us bring home our extras and no extra charge. Hidden gem in upper Darby!!!!

Very good There is only one server though and the store is small For the best experience I would recommend going when it's not busy at 3 or 4 The sides are delicious and the lady always refills it for us She takes good care of the customers to the best of her ability when it's busy

The server was really nice and quick as the one lady running the entire restaurant, which had an average of 5 tables on a Sunday late afternoon. However, the meat was barely defrosted and the sauce was just pour on top. The kimchi tasted like expired kimchi just like what another reviewer explain, but the fish cake and seaweed side dishes were good. The bean sprout side dish and lettuce was not very clean. As someone who is used to go to NYC/NJ Korean restaurants this is unacceptable... Definitely do not bring your jacket inside as there's no exhaust fan for each table (again another item that is unheard of for nyc/NJ Kbbq restaurant) Parking is tight or near impossible in front of the restaurant/hmart etc. and bring quarters for the meters

This is Surah's third location and I would have to say that this is by far my most favorite location. 1. Lower Gwynedd - great if you live in Montgomery County but very far for Phila residents. This location used to be bomb.com but as others have noted, quality has gone down somewhat for certain meats. 2. Gogi - their second location, not bad but seems to cater towards more of the non-Korean taste buds. 3. Upper Darby - smallest location, but feels the most coziest. Staff was great. Meat quality and selection stick with the Hawaiian steak and pork belly and you won't be disappointed! Man that Hawaiian steak was so goooooood. Not a fan of the chadolbaegi and LA kalbi. Preferably I like a thin small cut of chadol when it's nice and juicy. The chadol here can be a bit dry. The LA kalbi is slightly thinner cut, and I prefer no bone but it's not bad. I would recommend that you try it at least. But definitely definitely get the Hawaiian steak! Their bibimbap was on point, super delish, great balance between the rice and veggies. Seafood pancake was also very delicious, they don't skimp on the seafood either and it tasted fresh. Some other Korean places use little pieces from a frozen package, that has a scent and flavor of frozen, which I can't stand. Surah's seafood pancake was superb! Side dishes typical, the same at every location. Don't forget you also get two soup options. Always go with the highest package. Don't expect to get the lowest bbq package and expect better options. If you're going to go to an AYCE then splurge a little and pig out

3rd time here and have had a fantastic experience each time. Great service and quality meats. We've been lucky and haven't been caught in the rush but have seen the crowd waiting. Beware, ventilation isn't the best but you sure will smell delicious walking out. We like the $29.95/person option and they give you vanilla ice cream to finish up the meal.

Good value for the price! LA galbi and hanger steak are the ones to go. The owner is very attentive to your needs as well. I've had quite a decent number of experience with Korean BBQ in Philly as well as NY, and this little spot honestly isn't bad at all, especially for what you're paying and considering that it's an all you can eat restaurant. Will be returning!

Just came by this place today. Didn't know there was this until i saw an ad on Facebook. Food here is very delicious. It's an all you can eat and a korean cuisine. So much for the price. I will be returning. Now, I would like to know if it's a byob?

    Modern and cozy atmosphere!

My brother had already told me that the food was good but I wanted to experience for myself... We were seated inside almost in the middle of the restaurant and had a great view of the tv (on the night we visited, the 76ers were playing in the semi-finals, so our seating was PERFECT! We placed our order with the waiter - hush puppies, chicken waffle skewers, hubby ordered some kind of sandwich with pulled chicken and I ordered the BBQ Blackened Shrimp. The chicken and waffle skewers and hush puppies were the "stars" of our dining experience - the chicken was tender yet had a nice crunch and the skewer ingredients as a whole were savory and the hush puppies had well balanced flavor and the slight crispness of them was so satisfying. Hubby's sandwich was pretty good - the chicken was juicy and tender and his fries were nice and crispy and seasoned with precision. The BBQ Blackened Shrimp missed the mark for me - if I could do it again, I'd order this minus the bread. The bread was too much and was just odd for me but I enjoyed everything else that came with this dish... Overall, we left satisfied. The service was excellent, the staff were pleasant, diligent and attentive and the atmosphere is very relaxed. This place is definitely a great neighborhood gem that everyone should try! P. S. I saw several people order the mac and cheese and each time that I watched the servers bring it out, it made my mouth water, but I didn't have an appetite for mac and cheese on the day of my visit but I would definitely try it on my next!

But still, Sardi's incredible and we're glad to have them in the area.
