It was a very slow Saturday since the only pizzas ready at the time was a plain cheese. My friends and I shared a slice of that while he prepared a buffalo chicken pizza. Crust is thin with a nice crisp layer underneath. Paying $1.50 for a quarter of a large pizza, it is pretty reasonable. With that being said, the quality is not through the roof but it definitely provides that comfort food factor. We're in town for a few nights and thought we'd give this place a shot. At first they said they couldn't deliver to us, then someone else got on the phone and said they will. YAY! Fantastic! one of my favorite pizza joints in Lowell. I can recall the first time ever going there with friends, after hearing people rave back and forth about how wonderful this thing called the "Fat Chicken" was, I just had to try it out for myself. Located near the Umass Lowell campus, Suppa's isn't hard to miss with its bright black and white banner blaring throughout the night. The dining area was quite small and parts of the dining area were dimly lit yet the atmosphere was quite relaxing and charming. Being the first time ever trying a treat from Suppa's, I asked what was the best thing that they had to offer, The man behind the counter jokingly said "Are you serious?" He smiled and recommended that we try the "Fat Chicken" or the "Fat Cow" or in his words "heck basically anything on the menu is good" I admired his confidence and applauded him for his friendly personality. My friends and I ordered the Fat Chicken and Fat cow and sat down to wait for our order. The man chatted with us about how our day was, talked about current events as well as what was going on in sports. He even gave us free drinks! After about 20 or so minutes our orders came out and our jaws dropped to the floor at the sheer size of the beasts. We ordered both subs at 2 feet each and both were PACKED with heart stopping, artery clogging goodness! The freshly made Fat Chicken contained golden brown mozzarella sticks, crisp golden french fries, fried to perfection whole chicken breast while smothered with marina sauce and topped with mozzarella cheese. The Fat Cow contained the same except instead of breaded chicken breasts it had 4 whole beef patties, with hearty bits of bacon on top, covered with melted cheese and drizzled with BBQ sauce. In addition, both subs were served on a freshly toasted buns. It was heaven! Sure my heart may of stopped beating for a minute or two but it was worth it! Prices were very affordable as well, two, 2 foot long subs at about $18-19 each, PACKED with meat and fried goodness, I'd say that is a pretty good deal. I also recommend their Steak Stick and their Spicy Fat Chicken. We didn't find out til after we left that the friendly man behind the counter ( through The Phantom Gourmet ) was none other than the owner of this fine establishment. This place is pretty good, its a staple for a North campus student at UMass Lowell with quality food at various different price points, but its still worth going to even if you aren't close. Pizza is really good, with tons of different types of pizza. My personal favorite is the Buffalo Chicken pizza which is usually available as a slice when you walk in. Slices are pretty big too. Subs range from your average sub shop meatball sub to concoctions such as the "Fat Cow" sub which is a sub with hamburger, mozzarella sticks, fries and cheese. Suppas really wins in these sort of out of the norm combinations of standard sub shop food. read more

Both were so glutonous that they were at a minimum two meals worth of food each, and every inch was slathered in artery clogging grease. It wasn't a bad thing, but my father in law got a delicious looking pastrami sandwich which looked far more appetizing. It was fun, but I would NEVER order either of those two dishes again. Other stuff? Absolutely. They have a wide array of menu options and have seafood on the weekend. It is so good to the point that I have a hard time trying something else on their menu. I have gotten a couple of their subs and they were ok. The problem with Suppa's is that they are busy. They are located on a college campus and they get a lot of business. This translates into rudeness and no regard for customers. If u take too long ordering, you get yelled at. If you live a step outside their delivery zone, they won't come to u. If your order is too meticulous they get annoyed. Plenty of seating, wicked close to North Campus, and a go-to spot for students who want a quick bite that won't completely drain your wallet (unless of course, you want to go everyday like I do). When it gets late, or when the student meal plan isn't cutting it - it always comes down to this: "Do I want Suppas or Eggroll Cafe?" Food: I've had a lot of different types of pizza from Suppa's, mostly because I had a class with Professor Kim (awesome teacher by the way). Chicken Bacon Ranch, Pepperoni, Meat Lovers, Sausage, Buffalo Chicken, Broccoli, Veggie, Cheese, etc. There are a few things that the pizzas all have in common: the ridiculously large portions, the high calorie count, and the way they fill you up and put you in a food coma. Be sure to ask for extra napkins so you can dab off some the grease on the pizza. Make no mistake, these pizzas are made for college students, specifically the starving kind. Atmosphere: It's always packed and loud in here. Whether you're here for pick up, or you're there to eat-in, you can be guaranteed that there will be college students in there just hanging out. If you wait long enough, you will most likely see someone you know. Staff: These guys are faster than fast food. I'm not sure what their personality was once like, but they're all about churning out the orders and making it look easy. They're courteous, sure - but it's hard to get a word in otherwise. I first discovered the glory of Suppa's during the strange period of my life when I was attending many creepy parties on the UMass Lowell campus. I always just got the slices from the rotating thing because let's face it--at 2am when you can't see straight you don't want to wait for a sub or a burger or whatever. You want/need it immediately. But then there was that fateful day...a friend and I were nearby bowling and he was hungry and I mentioned Suppa's as a good place for pizza. We made our way over and as we stood at the counter preparing to order someone was handed the elusive FAT CHICKEN. When the woman asked us what we wanted, we both looked at eachother and back and her and said "that". We didn't know what it was. Didn't know the name. Didn't find out the name until we were so stuffed and in love that we looked it up on-line. Cheese sticks? Chicken? FRENCH FRIES!? SAUCE!? ON...BREAD!????? Yes. In fact after we left Suppa's we weren't even sure if we were dreaming the experience. It felt so surreal and our bodies were so full and confused with the onslaught of fried stuff that we were pretty certain we were high. But we weren't. Or we might of been. This is our go-to pizza and sub place, and the best in Lowell, as far as I'm concerned. We're big fans of the eggplant pizza, which has whole slices of fried eggplant. Their BBQ chicken pizza is also one of the best I've had. If you only try it once in your life, get the "Fat Chicken" sub. It's basically a chicken parm topped with mozzarella sticks and french fries. There are two downsides (and they are very minor). The parking situation isn't great (they're located right next to UMass Lowell), so it's sometimes better to get delivery. Moreover, the staff can be a little unfriendly. When you're constantly dealing with college students, I suppose that's a side-effect. However, I don't go there for the conversation.
