I get that inflation has made prices volatile, but other establishments cope with that. In this case, the objective feels specious, a huge turn-off. The last time I was there--maybe a couple years back--the menu was predominantly Middle Eastern, which, for me, was the attraction. Since then, it's been largely Americanized. And though I can understand why Middle Eastern doesn't play well in a bland suburban community, the sheer number of menu selections induces decision fatigue. It creates the dubious impression that it cannot all be done to the same high standard, which is confirmed when the order materializes in less than a minute, indicating that the ingredients are pre-made for variations on a theme, not unlike Mexican joints. Plus, lots of shelf-stable ingredients like tasteless, cheap pickled vegetables that add color and entertainment, but zero flavor. In our experience, the food is at best average, and not as good as it used to be. And while that is tolerable at times, the we-charge-what-we-like business model--where having to ask the price seems intended to embarrass patrons--is a deal-breaker.

They offer platters, salads, gyros, cheese steak subs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, chicken nuggets & wings, baklava, and drinks in the cooler. The pricing seems fair. On my way back home, I stopped by Shah's Halal Food Lowell for takeout. I placed my online pickup order through DoorDash since I had credits. I ordered the Beef Chapli & Chips Platter ($11.99 plus tax) and Assorted Baklava ($3.49 plus tax). My online order was all set to go in about 13 minutes. The platter had soft seasoned ground beef kabobs, thin pakora chips, served over soft basmati rice and a mix green salad with creamy white sauce plus the optional hot sauces too. The platter had good savory and spicy flavors. The prepackaged assorted baklava was a good sweet treat for the after meal. I would definitely stop by again for more Halal takeout.
