What an outstanding company. My air conditioning went out yesterday. I called this morning my warranty and they got in touch with Superstition. I have never had anybody take care of me and have the parts on the truck and get there in one day usually for five days out and kraig my technician was incredible, he talked about maintenance and the care of the air conditioning. Most technicians come in do their job say adios which is fine that's what you want him to do but the extra care keeps their client aware. read more

To update my review; the morning of 07/22/19 I received an email from my home warranty company informing me the AC repair has been transferred to a different contractor for repair. I contacted Old Republic Home warranty to find out why, as my follow up appointment with Superstition Cooling was scheduled for later today. I was informed by the warranty company, Superstition Cooling requested my repair order be transferred to another provider. They are not required to provide a reason for the transfer, so it is unknown. My guess is Superstition Cooling may have have seen my review both on here and Google, changing their mind. Reviews and my experience will also be shared with BBB/ROC and other social media outlets. The sad part is, my review was written in a strictly factual manner, documenting my experience with the company. It even indicated I would update my review once they came back, in hopes they corrected the problem. While the reasoning behind my opinion of Superstition transferring my repair order is speculation, it indicates to me their level of unprofessionalism and inability to follow through and get the job done. read more

The absolute worst company to hire to fix anything. My heater was broken for over a week. They had to order a special part to fix it - and I get it - shipping takes some time. The man who ordered it (Jeremy I think) was one of the rudest associates I've ever met working for any kind of business. He also didn't seem very competent, because he ordered the wrong part. So my home warranty company and I had to find a new company to get the job done right. She answered all of my questions in regards to the scheduling and expectations. She even gave me a courtesy call to let me know that the technician was on his way to our property for service. I have owned and operated a number of businesses and always went the entire mile for my customers. It was something my Dad taught me when I was in my teens and working for him. Kraig is the same way, which is something that many businesses do not do anymore. I obtained 5 bids to have a 5 ton home A.C. / Heat Pump installed in my home. 2 of the bids were within a couple hundred dollars of Kraig's bid but did not answer a question or two 100% truthfully, one was way too low because the company bid the wrong unit, either by design or by stupidity and the other 2 were bids were given by phone - Unbelievable. ... Kraig came out at my convenience, recommended a couple different units; provided the pros and cons of each. I had already done over 20 hours of research and decided to go with the Amana because of reviews and their guarantee, along with other considerations. I also reviewed nine companies that were Amana and/ or Trane dealers and one Lennox dealer. Some had mostly good reviews and some not. ... The install was properly done, the "I's" dotted and the "T's" crossed. He and his assistant cleaned up, set up everything as expected; educated me on proper filters, etc. I had a ton of questions that he took the time to answer. Kraig double checked the unit serial number to make sure it was correct - it wasn't, his supplier had missed one number so now Kraig will correct so there are no issues in the future with the warranty. ...I had actually decide to use Kraig when I first shook his hand as he exited his vehicle when we first met. It was obvious he was the type of person I wanted to do business. There are a lot of crooks in the HVAC business and there are some good people too - Kraig is one of the great people. ... Being an extremely picky, demanding 'ball-buster' I see that most businesses from AZ would never succeed in a demanding marketplace. .. Bought my house in November and before we purchased the secondary drain pan needed to be replaced. Seller had this company install it. After recent storm the primary drain line was clogged and therefore was using the drain pan. It started to leak because it was not installed properly according to my AC company. Had to resecure the drain pan and reseal the PVC fitting that was attached to it. Called the company and they said there was only a 30 day warranty on their labor... Shotty workmanship and a 30 day warranty is a joke since this may have been the 1st time the drain pan was used. Had to climb into my attic and hookup a hose to prevent further damage. Damaged drywall, paint bubbles, and more because of this. read more

Tremendously better than the last Heating and Cooling company that got dispatched. Took them three weeks to fix an AC that needed replacing in the dead of summer. I submitted the service request late and was called that evening for an appointment; they were out the very next day. Kraig was very polite and was able to resolve the issue (primary air handler condensate line was extremely clogged). I'd recommend them in a heartbeat; and will plan on using them for my seasonal check-ups. read more

Used the Old Republic warranty company to fix our AC and they called Superstition Cooling. They couldn't make it on Friday so I had to wait until Monday and in the meantime it was very hot out so I ask another AC guy to take a look. He pulled apart the wires and tested the compressor and said it was bad. I decided to wait for Superstition to see if the warranty company would pay for the repairs. When Shawn from Superstition arrived and he said that he could tell that this unit had never been hooked up before. This was completely FALSE as it was hooked up and running 4 days before. I get that the wires were pulled apart, but that doesn't mean it wasn't hooked up before. He then put all the wires back, made some tweaks and left a few minutes later and the AC was working, which was great. I told my wife later that he probably didn't mean to accuse me of lying (because I WASN'T) and he was probably just having a bad day. I even gave him a compliment while he was here that I thought it was great that he fixed it so quickly. Well, he forgot to hook up the power to the thermostat so the AC quit again when the Nest battery ran out of juice. I called the warranty company back and they again sent Shawn out. He was in a bad mood and after he "fixed" it he said "you know that thermostat was never hooked up to start with". This was absolutely not true and I again explained that the other guy had pulled the wires to test it. Did he think I could have gone through the hottest summer on record without it? I tried to make myself clear that I was not dishonest but to no avail. On the way out he told me not to call Superstition Cooling or him again because they don't like dealing with people like me(meaning dishonest people). I was absolutely floored. I tried to explain that he had made a mistake, but apparently he can read minds and he knew I was guilty. I am a veteran, father, and have always been very honest guy. I think that was the worst insult anyone has ever given me. I did not deserve this treatment from the AC repair guy. I just wanted to get my AC fixed. To make things worse, I just noticed that the battery ran out on my nest again. I tested the low voltage wires and apparently he didn't hook them up. It was also on the work order to fix the condensation leak and he didn't do that. It was jerry-rigged by the guy I bought the house from a year ago so I can understand he wasn't enthused about fixing it, but that is his job. Negative 10 stars read more

In this day and age, it is hard to find an AC company that you can trust. Superstition Cooling is one of those companies that I trust. I have been in contracting my whole life and it was a pleasure dealing with Kraig (the owner). It looked like a major expense to fix my AC but he found the problem and resolved it immediately charging only one trip charge and was honest enough about not telling us we needed a part for our unit that would have cost $$$$. He could fix it without this part. I would recommend them highly. Usually when you call your home warranty they send out these schmucks who argue and tell you that you're crazy... your heater really is only supposed to pump out 50 degree air and there's no reason for them to be there. Then they make you wait 8-10 days while they order some parts, and sometimes don't even call you when they get those parts in. Shawn, our technician, and Superstition Cooling were so different. The woman who called was friendly, helpful, let us know about potential same-day cancellations and alternate times that worked best for us. Shawn came out, listened to the report that we had on our heater and within an hour he had replaced the bad motor, collected his money, wrote us a receipt, and wished us a good day. Our system is the original system on a 20 year-old house. We were having problems with it only cooling intermittently. I looked up A/C in consumer Reports, checked Yelp, BBB and Rosie on the House. Then I had five companies look at my cooling system. One spent five minutes on a wiring repair and charged me $300 for the service call and repair, knowing it didn't repair the problem. Then he wrote an $11,200 estimate to replace the unit. One talked about changing the thermostat, and then wrote an estimate to replace. The other three only talked about replacing, which I thought was ok because the unit is old and inefficient. But I was sick about buying at the peak season. The estimates ranged from $6,200 to $12,000. Kraig from Superstition Cooling came out and was much more intent on finding a solution than on selling a new unit. He spent about an hour and fixed two problems. The system is working fine but is still old. We talked about making a purchase during the slower, more competitive months. His estimate is about $6,000 for a better unit (than the $11,200 one). I've found my HVAC company. read more

Piss poor communication. Open at 8am but still not answering the phone at noon. And they are closed on the weekends.

We used Superstition Cooling (SC) for the first time as they were sent out by the home warranty company. We called the home warranty company on a Monday and SC was out at our house by Wednesday and figured out we needed a new heat valve which would take 2-3 business days to come in. The part came in at three business days as promised and they came the same day to fix the heat which was great at first and I was impressed with the timing and how polite they were. We left the house afterwards with the heat set to 73. About 4 hours later we returned home and the heat was still on and our house was now at 95 degrees and climbing. The heater would not turn off and I called SC immediately. They REFUSED to come back out to take a look at it when I told them it was constantly running, would not turn off with the breaker and our house was unbearable so clearly something was done incorrectly. She simply told us the work order was closed and we needed to call the home warranty company again to send over a recall order but it was after 4pm and therefore they wouldn't come back out anyway, even if I had just called as a regular customer without the home warranty and we were willing to pay the fee for them to just come back out and LOOK at it. I explained it had not even been 4.5 hours since they came and she told me "sorry, we can't do anything right now". I ended up calling Emergency Air Heating and Cooling (EAHC) and they came out within 2 hours in which we had to shut off the power to our entire home to get it to stop blowing hot air. EAHC diagnosed the problem and sure enough, the person that came from SC connected a jumper between R & W which caused the unit to continuously run and override any manual settings on our thermostat. What a way to run a business and not take responsibility for something that was CLEARLY wrong. Home warranty or not I would have at least made an attempt to help my customer and had we not come home at that time our heater would have overheated and potentially burned our house down. I would give this zero stars if possible. read more

I've had them out to my place on three separate occasions and have been delighted with the quality of the service each and every time. He lets me know about upcoming suggested maintenance and has never suggested any unnecessary repairs or equipment. I had issues with my AC unit. I went through my home warranty company. After the first company wasn't available to come to my home for two weeks my warrant company rescheduled with Superstition Cooling. I still had to wait 2 days but they did arrive. I explained the situation with Kraig ( the owner). He was very negative and schooled me on how AC units work. Then told me that most likely the warranty company would not approve the repairs since the damage was not due to normal wear and tear. I asked him to submit the request anyway. The warranty company called a few hours later to tell me the repairs WERE approved but that Kraig didn't want to do the repairs. No explanation. So, now I need to reschedule another company to come out which extends the issues we're having with the AC. My issue... if your not going to do the work why come to my home. My home warranty company dispatched Superstition Cooling after my air conditioning failed. Katie called shortly after I requested service. She was kind and empathetic and was able to schedule an early morning appointment. The owner, Kraig came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. He did a great job explaining how these systems worked and fully answered all of my questions. He was able to quickly secure the part that home warranty would replace, however after some conversation we both agreed that a new system was the better long term solution. I really felt Kraig went above and beyond with the home warranty process as he was able to get them to approve some cash toward a new system, which was not easy due to covid staffing issues at the warranty company. Kraig also made a personal connection as we are both fathers though our kids are different ages. I'm very happy my home warranty company chose Superstition Cooling. read more

The owner just called me and asked me why I threatened his dispatcher with a bad review on Yelp. I told him that our issue wasn't fixed and they didn't find it necesssry to come out and take a look at something they said was corrected. He then told me that they only fix what the home warranties tell them to fix. Long story short, very unprofessional. I paid $65 for them to recharge Freon because my home warranty told them to and they didn't have the audacity to tell me what the real problem was? We have 2 separate units and hadn't had them checked out since moving in 3 years ago, and with the brutality of AZ summers & living in an 18 yr old house, we wanted to have them assessed. Kraig was truly professional, and asked my husband to come up on the roof with him to show him all....including the fact that condensation run-off wasn't ever piped out properly; which pools moisture on our roof and around the units. Home inspector hadn't picked up on that; just checked our thermostats and had said we had efficient A/C units. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and Kraig answered all of our questions. Even clearly explained how we can simply do the PVC piping to reroute the condensate drain. Very kind and personable. We will definitely call Superstition Cooling again! read more

Just recently moved into a new home within a few weeks the a/c went out, under warranty we were required to go through the superstition cooling company, they came by fixed the a/c which only lasted a couple of days and went out again, they came back out and let us know it needs replacing, until they receive the items they need to replace it the tech guy added Freon to the system to hold us over, unfortunately it went out again. Now the house is 90 degrees, I have three pets who are not enjoying it at all. So I call and ask what is going on and if there is anything that can be done, by a rude awakening I was pretty much dismissed by the very disrespectful and rude receptionist Sarah, she told me there is nothing they can do and treated me like I was stupid to even ask such an appalling question. I would rather get an explanation as to why instead of a blank ended response. In the end I have to wait 2-3 business days. I have a home warranty so I am at the mercy of whomever the warranty company sends out. This time they sent Superstition Cooling and was I ever thrilled! Jeremy the technician was very unfriendly. Did not answer the door with any kind of greeting. He ended up damaging one of the fan blades on the condensing unit, which made it vibrate horribly. So we just had our AC "repaired" and its still doing the same thing it was before. Blowing warm air then blowing cold, then blowing warm again. The tech guy that we had was very unfriendly. He did not even make or TRY to make conversation or even explain to us what is wrong with our ac or why it was doing what it was doing. I think if you are going to fix something for someone atleast explain what the issue is so your customer understands what is going on! From the reviews so far, it looks like its just that one tech guy that is not quite loving his job and is giving a nasty experience to this company's service.
