I can't say enough good ​things about Ryan and the rest of his team at Superior Molding in Sherman Oaks, CA ! The prices are better than Home Depot and other places. Most importantly, the selection is amazing! The reviews mentioning people being rude are flat out lies, and I wonder if they were left by a competitor​ or friends of competitors. My girlfriend and I were offered cold water, and there are numerous sales staff to help. Some reviews mention that the place gets busy, and this is true. However, that just proves how much the rest of the negative reviews are flat out lies! We bought moulding here for our last investment flip so we returned for our current renovation. We walked in to checked out the entire showroom. I later realized the persons in black shirts passing us by were employees. I tried not to think much about the fact nobody offered help. After walking the showroom, we went to the main counter. There barely any customers but we pulled a number anyway. We waited and slowly witnessed staff finishing off the people they were helping. Eventually the staff were all free from helping customers. The number calling for the next customer never changed. We eventually placed ourselves at the counter. After making eye contact with a couple of staff members and still not receiving an offer of assistance, we decided to walk out. Showroom is nice. read more

Nice showroom. Nice selection. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else..... I went here on a Saturday. The showroom was crowded. You are supposed to take a number.....only unless you have been here before you don't know that. No one says hello. No one tells you to take a number. You figure that out when they start calling numbers. Of course by then, people who came in after you have numbers. Not a big deal but still.... So I sit there for 30 minutes and wait. Pick out a few small decorative things. During that wait I am treated by the sales staff as though I am invisible. While I and everyone else was sitting there waiting a contractor pal of one of the salesmen walks in. They greet him by name and he is immediately cut to the head of the line. Nice. Finally my number is called. I show them the two large pieces of moulding that I walked in with. The same two pieces of moulding that each salesman glanced at when they passed me sitting there. Hard to miss those two big pieces of moulding I had been sitting with there the entire time.The salesman curtly tells me they don't carry that moulding. He was rude and dismissive. When I asked if he knew anywhere that might carry something similar to the moulding I was looking for, he referred me to a plywood store in Pacoima, assuring me they have a large selection of moulding. Telling the salesman that I lived an hour away from Pacoima in one direction, he assured me this store would have what I wanted. Driving one hour to Pacoima found me at a store who...wait for it....only carried plywood. They didn't answer the phone so I trusted the "Superior" salesman. I was furious. On my way home I looked up moulding companies. Lo and behold there was a moulding company called "Moulding Center", 5 minutes around the corner from "Superior". WTH?? Not having much to lose, I drove there. What a difference! The guys at Moulding Center were wonderful. They were friendly, took time, found my moulding. They had a huge selection. Even offered me a bottle of water. Everyone was friendly and helpful! Total opposite of the attitude at "Superior". Shame on Superior with their "superior" attitude. Shame on them for not telling me there was a company right around the corner that might be able to help me. Shame on them for sending me an hour away just to screw their competitor. By the way....while at Moulding Center, I overheard the boss in another room telling a customer that a piece of moulding he had brought in was from Superior. He even called Superior for the customer to see if it was in stock over there! I will NEVER go to Superior Moulding again, and I will recommend that everyone I know avoid this place! I'm giving this place 1 star on account of the serious lack of good customer service. I've been there several times and I've called there a couple of times too. I called there last week and had someone tell me that all the sales people were too busy to talk to me and that someone would call me back later. They took down the number and lo and behold, a week later no one ever called me back. Called again today and talked to someone who was clearly irritated to have to be talking to me. When you are in any kind of business, maybe you ought to try to be NICE to the people who are trying to spend money at your establishment. Thinly veiled condescension and irritation isn't a substitute for genuinely good customer service. Never going to go in here unless I absolutely have to. Will look for another place, any other place where people are more helpful and friendly. read more

Worst customer service ever. I had a a very small job that I had to get done and was running late. I called the store and told them I would be there exactly at 1pm to purchase a simple molding. They said they would let me in I get there at 1pm. I rushed and got there at 12:59pm and they literally shut the on me. It was going to be a 2 min transaction and I drove 30min to get here. The worst experience! I remodeled my house and spent more than one hundred thousand dollars. This company was the only one that gave me an unsatisfied service, They forgot to put something in my order and then they accused us that we did not say anything about that and when we asked them to solve the problem by giving us some solution they offered we can go and do it ourselves with anyone or anywhere. They're so busy getting new customers that after they take your order there is no customer service at all. I was replacing every window and door in my house and had no idea what a mission it would be to do so in terms of choosing a manufacture , ensuring the sizes are right, even which way the doors/windows swing open, hardware, jams, everything. It was quite an unforgettable experience and I learned so much and I couldn't have done it without Matt Ingles. He was the most incredibly kind and patient guy. He dealt with my numerous calls a day and handled me like a champ. He is so knowledgeable and was so great that he mentioned countless things to me that I would have never thought to do or decide between. I am a regular person getting new flooring, and my installer kind of let me down, so I was trying to fix a moulding disaster by buying new material since I hated what he did. I had 3 kinds of moulding in one room, it looked awful. I needed this flexible stuff because my corners are curved, and toher places had no idea what it was... At Superior Moulding, as a walk in, I took a number, got waited on pretty quickly (less than 10-15 minutes). Got polite service, correct information, a fair price, and the stuff loaded in my my car. Less expensive, more knowledgable, and less wear and tear on the average homeowner than Home Depot. In fact it was one smart guy at HD that sent me there after a Sunday goose chase. On a Monday morning at 9 am problem solved. This place is now my first stop for my own home projects, and I work on alot of home-related TV shows, so this place is going on my list. read more

I was surprised the prices were reasonable and the quality amazing. Over the last year I have purchased everything from them. Would never go anywhere else. Service and support of the doors they sold us was not good. You have to wait a very long time to get any help and some of the sales people are particularly ignorant about the products that the company sells. After problems with the installed product, the representative bluntly told us that, "No one from Superior Molding was going to come to our home to check out a very stiffly operating window." With some coaxing, Superior contacted the manufacturer. After some time, the manufacturer's representative did come to our home and was terrific. Compared to other surrounding suppliers city wide they are the slowest in customer service and that's a fact as I buy all over Los Angeles. So I avoid this place even though it's the most geographically convenient. Today, Saturday, I broke my rule and called them out of necessity to confirm that both the exact model and manufacturer of the specific molding I needed was there in stock. I asked twice and each time the responded "yes". 30min later I'm standing at the counter and they are telling me they don't have that molding. read more

He reviewed my plans. met with the contractor and provided suggestions on materials and contractors for my job. He assured me that my order would be delivered on time and would not delay the delivery of the house,. He kept his word every step of the way and was responsive and patient as I changed my mind a few times. I have referred may people to them and continue to use them for my commercial business as well. I would suggest you don't purchase materials from here. Limited items in stock. Manager would not give cash refund despite the error they made on material order. Also, they were very unprofessional about it. For a custom shop they are severely lacking in documentation and customer service. Receipt doesn't indicate cash a problem. I bought about $500 of baseboards for a project. They wrapped and loaded the 12 boards but when I got home, I saw the style of the board was right but the type of wood was wrong. Frustrated, I went back to exchange for the correct wood and all the counter guy did was shake his head, didn't apologize one bit. Then when I got back home with new boards, I noticed the ends of 4 of the boards were cracked so I had to cut a foot off each board. Again frustrated times 2, I went back to the store again to get the 4' I couldn't use from the original boards. The counter guy said he would have to charge me $16 to replace the 4' of the damaged ends from the original order. On top of that they wouldn't give me the same per foot price as I originally paid because this was only 4'. They shouldn't have even charged me because they gave me damaged boards but they wouldn't. The final straw came when I went to the back to pick up the 4' and the warehouse guy gave me huge attitude saying it was my fault for not inspecting every board before I picked them up originally. I had to put him in his place telling him YOU are the one that should check the products YOU are selling. I have only bought about $20k from this place over the past 2 years but I find another supplier and will not use this place again until management changes how their employees treat their customers. read more

Was recommended by my contractor to use these guys. I ordered a large custom sliding door that was expensive but was of good quality. I also ordered a window that my contractor screwed up the order. Between miscommunication on both ends I have to say that customer service here pretty crap. I tried to get a refund and or a credit for the window which didn't work for our needs. Now of course I should have been more on top of my shitty contractor who was ready to pass the blame on everything. But Superior molding basically gave pathetic customer service & didn't give a shit about me as a customer or handling the problem quickly. Basically over priced & horrible customer service. When I finally did get to speak to a manager months later, he wasn't worried that his salesman had been dicking me around for months. There must be better places to do business with. Sucks for superior molding. They lost a lot of business. Horrible contractor too. Unfortunately you don't always get what you pay for! read more

Let me start off by saying I normally don't take the time to write negative reviews only good ones. Here we go...I was sent to this store by our contractor and cabinet guy as we needed molding for our remodel. I am a mom and came in with my 2 kids so I walked in and immediately went to look at the base board samples and once I figured which I wanted I walked to the counter and realized I needed to pull a number. I pulled 78 and the sign said 71 there was a man sitting at the counter who didn't realize he needed a number so he grabbed 79 and a man that had 77 was walking around. Lots of men sitting at desk and a few helping customers. The man sitting at the counter go helped before me which was fine he was there before me but then a contractor walked in and grabbed 80. One of the men behind the counter approached the contractor (80) and went and switched the sign to move it to 80 and as he walked away with the contractor to help him I said "me and this gentleman where here first and waiting." He completely ignored me and proceeded to help. Wanted to walk out and should have at that point. Finally got helped by a nice kid who rang me up which took all of 5-7 minutes as I knew what I wanted and needed feet wise. A man was walking with a bunch of samples and I asked him if he wanted the one I had brought the counter and he took it but with attitude. As we wrapped up the transaction the kid who helped me told me that they do doors and windows but at the point I didn't want to hear it after the waiting game and BS I had to deal with. I then proceeded to go to will call where they took my slip and cut me 1 linear foot of baseboard and I asked where the other 199 feet where and he said the slip only was for 1 linear foot and to go back inside to correct it. I went back in side and in fact the sales rep rang me up for 1 linear foot so I had to do a return and repurchase the materials. He did give me 10% off for the mishap (which in my opinion was not enough) but heard him say to another employee "we will pretend like this didn't happen" Maybe that is why they get awful ratings because instead of properly correct mishaps and addressing them the just ignore them. Proceeded back to will call where I dealt with Pedro who honestly is the only reason I gave 2 stars. He was so nice and talked to my kids as we were picking up and loading up. He definitely was the highlight of the trip, my 8 & 10 year old kids even said the same thing as we pulled away. Thank goodness this company has people like Pedro because it would really be bad if they didn't have some friendly employees. So unless you are a contractor or a regular GOOD LUCK!!! You will most likely deal with grumpy/unhelpful staff and have a less than pleasant visit at this store which is sad because they have so much to offer. read more

My review echoes many other's experiences as well as my own from previous visits. Walked in, no one in the store, I was told to take a number. I waited almost 5 minutes, in the meantime a contractor walked in (did not take a number) and was attended to immediately. Finally, someone called my number (I was still the only person in the store). He was helpful in explaining my choices for what I needed and said he would call me that day or within a couple of days with an estimate. I waited a week, no call so I called and left a message. I waited another week, but as I had a timeline to complete my project, I went elsewhere as I had done in the past. I get the impression that Superior Moulding is only interested in big contractor jobs and cannot be bothered by the public with small home improvement projects. If that's the case they should closed to the public and not waste our time. read more

Superior Molding went above and beyond our expectations during my first time doing a remodel for my house. Those of you who have been through a remodel know it is like having a full time job! The selection was amazing, and not just only the same items that you find everywhere else. I found the perfect windows and doors here. The prices were very reasonable, and cheaper than Home Depot and the other "big box" stores. Ryan and his staff treated us great, even though our order wasn't the biggest.
