I said wow I'm in the wrong business, I didn't know anyone made $250 in 15 minutes and he said the price has gone up And started saying that he had to get his oil changed in his truck and it cost over $100. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything cause we all get our oil changed. Also he doesn't know how to knock on the door, he opened the door and stuck his head in yelling my name as if we were friends scaring my children while doing this. I did have this same company out close to 2 years ago and it was only $125 . Not sure inflation is that bad. Our situation had to get dealt with so I couldn't call around and I should not have assumed that this company hadn't gone money hungry, so I was shocked about the cost, I do understand cost of stuff and if he was here for hours but owners of companies can use discrepancy if it's a fast job. I won't use them anymore.

We can't thank Steve Johnson, president of AAA Standard Services, enough!…read moreAt 5:30 on Christmas morning, we woke up to a busted hot water heating pipe in our family room. Within a short time after placing a call to AAA, Steve was at our door. He was able to extract most of the water from our carpet. Before 10 a.m. our carpet had been removed and hauled away by Steve. He brought in big fans and a dehumidifier. He and my husband located the fractured pipe. He went into our crawl space to locate any other possible problems. We can't thank Steve enough, he went above and beyond and all on Christmas morning! We highly recommend this company! Jean K.

Happily, they showed up and within 3 hours they were in and out. Left us with two power blowers and a dehumidifier to run for 24 hours. They handle the work with insurance co- we paid deductible. Crew worked hard, were professionals and hauled debris away. Highly recommended!

Shawn Pedersen Home-Improvement Company just finished the roof on our house. We are very happy with…read morehis work. He put a sign in our yard after the job was completed and the sign reads, Efficient and Affordable. I couldn't agree more. We called several people to come and do an estimate before we decided on if we could afford a new roof. Some of the contractors did not return our call, or did not show up when they said they would. We had another estimate that was $20,000 more than the Pedersen estimate. Unbelievably outrageous! That person spent three hours here trying to convince us we why should pay that much. Shawn had a great warranty. He was very straightforward. He came here and simply gave an estimate; he was not pushy at all. He was great to deal with, his workers were very polite, and generally cleaned up. Shawn came here personally at the end and he made sure all the screws from our original roof were cleaned around the yard with a magnet. We had an issue with our previous roof leaking in an area and we've had one rain since it was completed and no leaks! I would definitely recommend considering him if you were looking at getting some estimates because he shows up when he says he will. And then, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up choosing him after (if) you hear from everyone else.

They came back in and said they poked a hole in the pipe but would fix it since they damaged it. We did not ask them to check our pipes we only wanted them to run a snake (which two other guys were sent to do later in the day). A couple days later they called and told us they were not going to fix the pipe because it was old and should not have been that easy to break so they didn't feel responsible. My husband did not take that well and was very rude to them on the phone. They ended up agreeing to fix that section of the pipe but told us we needed to have the entire pipeline replaced out to the curb costing thousands of dollars. After a few weeks and another clog we decided to give them a chance and have the work done. I gave them a call and ask for an estimate but they never bothered to return my call. I am thankful that they didn't because after a second opinion we only needed a clean-out installed which saved us thousands of dollars.

I would not recommend or work with this company again. I chose GLIC despite negative reviews but…read moreboy did it backfire on me. It started out great. Every employee I spoke to was kind (Paul, Kellie, Kam, Jon), the actual technician (Kam) was friendly. However, they failed the initial inspection and had to redo weather proofing. I've since had to hire another electrician to finish labeling the panel after GLIC did a service upgrade. The panel doesn't actually fit all of the breakers and covers them slightly. New electrician said without a new box there is no way to make them fit, so it will always look odd. We found out more that indicated poor work, but this review is long enough without getting into those details. To put it short and sweet: the communication between employees at GLIC is extremely poor and caused a variety of issues with scheduling, parts, etc. I started this process working with Jon on scheduling and Paul on the estimate. I sent a list of the work requested by email, explained it over the phone, and went over it in person with Paul. We ended up condensing it down and ultimately approved: 1. $675 Dual sensor, photo-ion smoke detectors for each level of the home 2. $3,150 200-amp service upgrade 3. $462.50 220 volt stove plug installation In total from 11/15 to 1/24 we communicated through 22 phone calls, 44 text messages, and 9 emails for this single job. Here are some examples of why we had to communicate so frequently: - We wanted to confirm that they were going to pull permits and send electricians who are licensed in the State of Michigan. - We needed a new invoice sent over and waited 2 weeks but it hadn't been sent. - On what would have been day 1 of work, GLIC cancelled on us 2 minutes before scheduled start time. - Actual day 1 of work ended because of an emergency call. We were told they'd possibly come back the next day, or Monday of the next week. I called and texted without any response until Monday morning when they scheduled us for later that week. - They brought the wrong smoke detectors to the house on day 2 of work. I can assure you that this review can't fully encapsulate the fuming frustration that experiencing all of this was. The sad part is that GLIC has all of the opportunity to get it together and be better, but I happened to be on the receiving end of their sloppy practices. I paid thousands of dollars to be able to tell you to listen to the other negative reviews. Don't be like me and give the benefit of a doubt, you'll regret it just like I do.
