Steve and his crew are nothing but the absolute BEST!! He can diagnose problems by just looking at a picture. My new Winnebago had axel issues. My motor home had what I thought was a minor mishap. Took it in for an alignment. It turns out that there was more extensive damage than I had imagined. The repair work was outstanding. The motor home now drives like a dream, much better than new. We will be returning to this outstanding shop. read more

I have taken my RV to this local repair shop twice now. Both times there were errors. Because this is the only local shop that stated they would work on RVs I took mine back. Second time was worse. Work paid for was done incorrectly or not at all. It was exhaust work not difficult except for tight work area. I reached out to owner, Steve with pictures of the wrap with large gaps in the area of original problem and asked if I could bring RV back to have the work redone and asked him to point out the other work on invoice I paid for but cannot see. I paid over the phone and picked up after hours so he was not there to show me at the work at pick up. He called me after receiving pictures and my request to bring RV back for correction he stated wrap looks good no correction needed. When my boyfriend tried to say per instructions wrap should not have gaps larger than.... Steve hung up and would not answer my calls x3. Kinda took me back to JR high school. I have reported this shop to the BBB and highly recommend avoiding this shop at all costs. Hope this helps someone else with an RV avoid paying for things not done correctly or at all read more

They did an extremely good job. I'm very happy with the quality of work that they did on my motor home. It runs like a dream now.

My son in law had a problem with a part on his truck and they were so supportive and fixed it right away.

I have used Superior Auto & RV multiple times and will continue to return. Steve and his workers always go the extra mile to make sure I have what I need for my rig! read more

OK service kind of overpriced have to bring my vehicle back serval times for the same issue.

Steve is a "good" guy and talks well... But as for my experience: IF he had done what I asked of him, none of this (long) report would be needed. I brought my Roadtrek RV in and said the generator didn't work. I was certain the "mechanical" parts were fine, and I had installed a temporary fuel pump, so I was fairly certain that it was "ignition" of some sort. I told him I would like the Generator pulled out and gone over thoroughly and replace fuel pump with factory pump and any other parts to bring it back to "factory standard". He said he would do a full diagnosis, check compression, and other mechanical stuff and supply the diagnosis. This was a quote of $435.00 for the "complete" check and diagnose. I told him, "no hurry" just wanted it fixed right. After about 10 days he called and said that they had found a bad fuse holder and had to clean up some fuses but that is was running "great". I asked him about what he's done about the fuel pump and he said his guy said that what I had done was great and it wasn't needed to be changed. So,I came to pick it up and while waiting, I fired up the generator which ran for about 15 minutes and quit. We futz around a bit with his mechanic and they finally convinced me that turning on the Air Con was too much load and that they were pretty sure it would run OK. I Never got a report on engine compression or any other inspection done on engine. Not even a new spark plug (which is probably about 20 years old). Steve charged me the $435 (for the FULL diagnosis) plus $116 for cleaning control board connections and $20.14 for a plastic fuse holder (about $1 at any auto store). So. paid my $582 bill and took it home. It would run for about 30 to 40 minutes and quit. Restart and run for 10 minutes and quit. I did a bunch of diagnosis and finally installed a plastic fuel filter in series with the fuel line (there was no filter, even though factory spec would have had one). I diagnosed that the fuel started pumping "bubbles" after about 30 minutes and would eventually not keep up with the generator requirement. I suspected the H0-2 electric fuel pump was getting too hot so I installed some large angle iron under it to act as a heat sink. That let the pump run for about an hour before the same symptoms showed up. The HO-2 pump was rated at 3-5 psi, so I purchased a 5 to 9 psi Automotive fuel pump and re-installed that onto my heat sink. The generator has been running fine ever since. So, had Steve listened to me and put stuff back to "Factory Standard" none of this would have happened. But since he charged me $20 for a $1 fuse holder, I suspect it would have been $40 if he had put in a new spark plug, and who knows how much else for the $10 fuel pump ($150 buck I'd bet). I gave him 2 stars for finding the electrical problem, but I still had to spend a couple of hours doing my own diagnostic and repair. Still not back to "Factory" normal, but it is working. read more

RV repair is challenging in these post-COVID times with overbooking, staffing/skillset issues, and parts availability. First time meeting Steve & his crew and so worth the 2 hour drive to get to his shop. Came in for a power steering leak but they found a couple additional rather serious issues needing attention. All repairs completed, very efficient, explained what was found, kept me apprised of status and, and had me back on the road in the committed timeframe. Highly recommend Superior and will be my go-to shop in the future. read more

I've you've read my other automative repair reviews, you know I am picky about who touches my vehicles. Generally I do my own work, and I only bring a car to someone if they know more than I do, or I don't have time for the job and need someone I can trust to do it with the attention I would give. For general mechanic service, as well as specialty categories, like air conditioning and radiator flushing, these guys are the only ones in town I trust, beside the Ford Store. And the Ford Store can't work on my 2003 BMW 760Li, a very rare beast. If I did not do my own work, I would trust Superior Automotive and Radiator with all the maintenance and repairs on my BMW. I first met Steve when I needed to get a real serious coolant system flush after I had diesel fuel in my coolant from the infamous injector cup job on a 7.3L PSD. The Ford Store did the replacement of the cups, but their flush job left lots of diesel in the system. I first called Superior because of the name "Radiator" in the title. But once he completed the job, and we had discussed how thorough he was about it, I realized the shop was much more. Recently, I did a complete transplant of a newer engine, transmission, A/C compressor, you name it, into my BMW 760Li at my house. I needed someone to help me get the A/C back up and running and I called Steve first. There were a few hiccups, due to me not being prepared fully, but Steve managed the situation (and me) well and helped me get her up and running. Let's not forget the techs he has working for him. Look at my motto: "The fish usually stinks from the head down....don't blame the waiter..." This puts most of the blame for a bad experience anywhere on the management. It's up to management to hire people who reflect their own knowledge set and ideals, and to ensure the techs can repeat that experience time after time. Steve's techs are obviously well-picked and trained. The rest of the 4 and 5 star reviews tell it like it is: Morgan Hill and for that matter, South San Jo and Gilroy, have a great shop they can depend upon. read more

Last week, the transfer case position switch on my Jeep Liberty Renegade failed and here I am driving in 4x4 to and from work on 101, burning gas 10 miles per gallon, unable to switch back from the off-road mode. So I did my research about the problem, made some calls and got the idea about the repairs necessary and costs involved. But since we moved to the Central Coast only 2.5 years ago, I didn't have a regular mechanic yet. So a good friend of mine recommended this shop in Morgan Hill. I called and spoke to Steve and when I described what's going on, he told me exactly what the problem was, quoted the prices for the position switch and the labor [which exactly matched the prices I researched ahead of time], ordered the part and scheduled the repairs for the very next day. The next day, I showed up at my appointment time of 2pm and the guys drove my car right onto the hydraulic lift without even slightest wait. One hour and a half later, I had my car back with the position switch fixed and changed oil. They offer a great service, and Steve is incredibly knowledgeable about everything "automotive". He also proved to be an honest business owner with the great integrity and respect for my time and investment. I will have no problem driving from San Juan Bautista to make sure that my car is in the good hands... Strongly recommend this shop... read more

We have taken our Winnebago to Steve several times now. He knows RVs inside and out and he is honest and reliable. He has fixed issues with our air conditioner/radiator, suspension and recently a smog test. We made a big mistake letting other places try to smog our RV. They were clueless on how to perform the tests on a motor home. We were told that it would fail. One place wanted to charge us an extra $200! We came to Steve with our smog woes. He immediately knew what the other guys were doing wrong and told me that it probably would pass the test when done properly. Guess what! It did pass. His fee? It was the same amount I paid for my car. The icing on the cake is...Steve checked over our RV with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything is in tip top shape. Service like that is a rare find. Superior Automotive is now the only place we ever take our Winnebago for service. read more

Ever wonder if you will ever find an automobile repair shop that talks clearly, is enthusiastic about their work and does it right the first time? Well look no further than Superior Automotive of Morgan Hill. I live about 25 minutes from their shop, but it is well worth the time to make the drive. The owner, Steve really understands how to explain the problems of and repair the computer driven automobile of today. Rick Evans, Aesthetic Gardens, a Bauman Builders Company read more

I followed up with Steve because of another new technical problem after his work was performed with the plastic protection plate which was wired or zip tied on the underside of our car. We've never had a problem getting the oil changed but on our first oil change after Steve's work we are now forced to zip tie this plastic shield on. Filing a complaint with the better business bureau due to owner non-cooperation; charging more than estimate as well as not repairing damage to oxygen sensor from their precious work. read more

Let me tell ya, Steve and his business practice is the best the industry has to offer. I had taken Steve a vehicle 10 months ago and it recently had an issue. I did not know the issue was related to the work that had been done involving a faulty part. The tow company towed the vehicle to The Ford Store and what a mistake. I spoke with Steve and he explained the warranty coverage. The vehicle was yanked away from Ford and taken to Steve. Steve has worked on my vehicles and has gone out of his way to help me stay safe and save money. I would recommend Superior Auto and Radiator to anyone needing piece of mind with their vehicles. We have a Sprinter van converted to camping and the original builder's ability to work on the diesel generator was non -existent. We took it to Steve and Co. and at first the problem was elusive but finally they found the reason the generator would normally sputter and die after 10 minutes of running! Now fixed and good to go. He also figured out how to put safety cables on the darn thing so it didn't try to rattle the darn van apart with the rigid mounting the original builder installed. Both of those fixes made a night and day difference in a very expensive diesel generator that had become just an unused lump of metal. But the real reason for this post is the 200 watts worth of solar panels he installed. Originally not a believer in solar systems he told me about the benefits and offered a very fair price and great installation. We've never looked back now after killing 2 sets of very expensive batteries in the past because we did not maintain them properly. Thank you Superior Automotive. read more

Rude service. I just got a flat on 101 southbound closest to Morgan Hill city so this was the first tire place that popped up on Yelp. I called and asked how much a used tire for my car describing the model before I finish my sentence he cut me off and said "I don't sell used tires here. I have my other line ringing. " then I said alright how much for a new one, to which he replied "I don't do quotes over the phone you need to come by" and I said well I just got a flat and -he cut me off again and said this time extremely rudely "Look I don't do quotes over the phone, I have my other line ringing - to then I had enough gave him a piece of my mind and hung up! I called the second tire place on Yelp Advanced Wheels and he gave me a quote over the phone without any hassle for a used one or a new one. I came down he was real nice looked at my tire and told me he will have it taken care of. read more

We were stranded in Morgan Hill's Target parking lot when our minivan's fuel pump and oil pressure sender gauge failed during our trip from Oakland to Moss Landing. Steve gave us the lock code to his service yard so we could have the minivan towed there after hours, ready for his staff to work on first thing in the morning. He drove us to and from our Morgan Hill hotel the next two days. He even for a very nominal sum rented us his truck so we could drive back to our home in Oakland when the work took longer than anticipated through no fault of his own. My long-term Oakland mechanic corroborated Steve's diagnosis of our mechanical problems. Steve was scrupulously honest. Morgan Hill residents are fortunate to have this excellent mechanic. read more

Steve has the best diagnostic skills of any mechanic I have ever met. He took on my old Pantera and found a bunch of stuff that fancy "high end" shops had missed. Honestly, don't waste your time or money going to this place. The work is sub par and they really don't stand behind it. I spent over 4K to have an engine rebuilt here a while back that lasted under 5K miles. Owner didn't help at all to get the job re-done right and I had to sell the car as a mechanic special. Steve knows his cars. He is not the cheapest place to get your car serviced, just the best. If you want quality work done at a fair price that will give you complete peace of mind, get your cars serviced here. I have trusted him for well over a decade, the best there is. One warning though, Steve know everything about everything when it comes to your car. If you ask him a question you may get a complete technical dissertation on the entire topic. I took my 2006 Diesel Pusher motorhome to get the Freightliner M3 service thinking it was going to cost me thousands just for the service. First they did an inspection which found several things that needed to be fixed, some of which I knew about and several I never suspected. They fixed a bundle of wire that got munched by a slide mechanism and worked with my insurance company to get everything that was wrong fixed under my extended warranty. They ordered a new monitor for my backup camera and I requested to install that myself because I had an idea to make it look better. No problem. I had disassembled the previous monitor and found several bad solder joints. Steve did the same thing but suggested that repairing Weldex monitors rarely works long term and would cost more money in the long run than replacing it. I'm glad I followed Steve's advice. read more

This review is way overdue. Steve and Superior Auto are fantastic. They diagnosed the problem and had my car running beautifully after another shop had done terrible work and told me it was time to buy a new car. Steve is great at explaining what's going on and he is super organized. The paperwork I received was thorough and nicely printed so I have record of exactly what was done and which parts were installed. Steve seemed like an automotive genius, he was spot on in his prediction of what he thought had gone wrong with the prior repair elsewhere. He even provided me photos and detailed documentation of what was found and I was able to get my money back from the other shop. Steve and Superior Auto exceeded my expectations and made what seemed like a car nightmare into a very happy ending! read more

I had my Toyota serviced at Superior Automotive & Radiator Services in Morgan Hill upon recommendation of friends. They were so impressed that, even though I live some 30 miles away in Mountain View, I chose to take my car there rather than locally. I'm glad I did. I found his technicians to be highly trained and professional. I'll be using Superior's services for all my repairs. read more

"Superior" is the absolute right word. I took my vintage Minniewinnie here because I was told they were the only ones who would touch a few issues on a unit this old. Steve, was very good at alerting me to the possible costs and what it would cost just to figure out what the real issue was. I went forward and it did take some serious bucks but nothing he hadn't prepped me for and offered pro/cons on going forward at each step. Even better is his advice. Just today I called to add a few items to my repair list and he went over them with me and advised against spending the money based on his knowledge of my plans even though I'm a green-horn and could easily have spent money that wasn't needed. Steve is the very best and I've recommended him to everyone I meet every day. You can't go wrong at Superior Automotive. read more
