My partner and I frequented this Supercuts when we still lived nearby over a year ago. We'd lived elsewhere a bit but now live close again, and came in yesterday for some haircuts. They don't make appointments here so sometimes there is a wait, especially in the afternoons, but we are fine with that. The staff here do get busy, but still politely greet you and give you a time estimate when there are clients ahead of you. I want to make sure I give Steven a shoutout here, because he did an amazing job on my thick, wiry, unruly hair. In the past I've made peace with the fact that short, masculine cuts on me make me look like a muppet or the dictator of North Korea. That's not the case when Steven does my hair, and I'm so grateful for his knowledge. He had cut my hair for me once over a year ago as well, and he actually remembered me and how I like my hair to be styled. I've been here maybe 10 times, every time I came in the vibe I got from a certain stylist was not good. She just didn't seem to like me or she was nervous around me or whatever. But I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to get hair services. I attempted to be as nice and polite as possible but to no avail. I won't be in anymore because the way the stylist feels towards you affects the quality of the service you receive and so they skimp on services. So, I'll be finding a new salon to frequent. read more

What I've learned over the years is if I need a quick hair cut that is a basic trim and don't want to pay $35 to $65 for it then I go to a Supercuts or a Hairmasters. If i want to get a completely new look and hair color then I go to the more expensive places that are in the upper $100 to $200 range. This place to me is the place I go for that quick hair trim. I can't say that it is the worst I've been to because I came here crying one day after I had gone to an expensive place on Mercer Island to have someone fix my hair. At least I knew that someone at supercuts could put my hair back to a basic shape after I spent $250 to have someone at the "fancy salon" butcher it. This particular place has gone through staff and managment changes a couple times because I don't always see the same crew there every time I go, but I would say... it is an "ok" place and plan to go again... because after Christmas I don't have $200 to spend on my hair. :) read more

On a sunday morning I went in to get a haircut, the wait wasn't terrible. They had 3 stylists working. When it was my turn, she had just finished with someone and didn't sweep, or even clean up the area. When she grabbed the scissors they had a clump of hair from the previous client stuck in them. She just shook them off and proceeded to cut. I didn't say anything as to me honest I didn't care that much at the time, but thinking about it.... what if the previous client had lice. Seriously, clean and maintain a clean area. Disgusting and will not EVER return. read more

I went here because my hair grew out really poofy and unattractively from a short cut and it's still short but about chin length. I asked if they could fix it to make it look more attractive and the woman who saw me was winded, stating they were very busy that day so to just tell her what I am looking for. I asked for a layering and some bangs. The hair also grew out uneven with one side being much longer than the other so she said she fixed that. However, today straightening my naturally wavy hair out it shows that the longer side is longer. The bangs turned out okay but the layering, upon straightening out my hair today, shows that she did not really do anything to improve its attractiveness. It still looks weird when straightening it out. She was reluctant to give me as much layering as I wanted as she said it would make the poofiness worse so she seemed to have skimped on doing much other than just trimming some edges. The sides were cut to supposedly taper in towards the face attractively but one side bang was still vastly longer than the other... I really don't like having to keep fixing a hairdresser's mistakes just because they are in a hurry to get to the next person. I don't think this was worth $30+ (including tip) since I'm going to have to fix some of it myself at home. I also did not get offered the hot towel service at all and didn't know about it until writing this review. Likely due to them being in a hurry. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but I felt the need to get on here after a guy at this super cuts absolutely butchered my hair. I told him in detail what I wanted and he then proceeded to mess it all up. He took it way shorter than I asked, he saved the sides way higher than I asked on one side (vey uneven) and clipped a big chunk out of the front of my bangs. The top was very uneven as well. When I got home I spent a good 15 minutes just trying to fix what he had done. I would have paid $20 just to not have this done to me. He didn't talk to me at all throughout the haircut to try to confirm he was doing anything right. Worst haircut ever. read more

Never again will I return to get my facial hair waxed. The man who did it did a horrible job. I had to tell him to wax the middle of my lip because he was just going to leave it unwaxed!! I did it the day I left for my trip and my husband pointed out that there was still a lot of hair left on my top left brow. Worst haircut I have ever gotten. Also, worst service I have ever gotten while getting my hair cut. I wanted a simple haircut, not too many layers, shoulder-length. As I tuck my hair behind my ears it looks like half of my hair is sitting on a Shelf. I don't want to tell people I tried cutting my own hair, but that's what it feels like I should be saying. I also tried using a coupon, and was told abruptly that I had to have it printed out Those were the only words spoken to me during the haircutting process. Will not return. read more

I literally just left this salon and I am very pleased with my haircut. However I am even MORE pleased with their wonderful service. Upon finding myself needing a hair cut asap in the Northgate area, supercuts was a convenient and affordable option. I arrive ten minutes before closing and they were still able to help me. My stylist Phuong Tran was polite and helpful while helping me with my huge mess of hair, a challenge I would not have wanted to undertake in the last bit of work shift. Thank you to Phuong Tran and northgate Supercuts. I left a good tip but i hope this review helps as well. You guys deserve great reviews and good customers. I went to this place expecting supercuts quality. I am from Los Angeles and the supercuts there are similar to the commercials, that is to say excellent service and excellent hair stylists for the price. That is not the case for this place. My stylist did not know what she was doing, despite the instructions I gave. What usually is a simple cut that takes my stylists 10 minutes took about half an hour at this place. All my stylists talked about was food, movies, yada yada yada. Terrible stylist. Overall, one star because this place is definitely NOT worth 16 bucks. read more

A much-needed addition to the northgate area! I went in on a busy weekend afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see 4 stylists working away! I only had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated, which is practically a record. The stylists are quiet but talented! Everyone - including myself - left looking pleased and sharp. They also have big signs that you can see from Northgate Way that say "no wait" when, presumably, there's no wait! Overall it's a big step up from the Great Clips in that strip mall behind the transit center. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I used to get my hair cut at a super trendy salon that charged more than 100 bucks a cut. I was on my way to a party and needed a quick bang trim so I stopped here and Stephen did the coolest things to my bangs. I got so many compliments I kept coming back. I usually come here because it's cheap and nearby, but they also have decent stylists! Today I got my favorite haircut so far, by Phuong Tran. Even though the place got busy with lots of people waiting, she didn't rush my cut, made sure she understood what I wanted, etc. The result was great! I definitely recommend her. read more

I went to SuperCuts because I desperately needed a hair cut and color that i could afford. I brought in a picture of what color I wanted and how I wanted my bangs. I asked for a dark brown with red hints and full side bangs that don't go "lifeless". Instead, I received BLACK hair that looks almost blue in any light and limpy bangs that do nothing. I got my hair cut on 1/17 and since then I have washed my hair almost 20 times trying to get it to fade , thinking that it would. It hasnt. I would not recommend going there, atleast working with Nancy. read more

I went in to get my hair cut and the poor stylist could not even cut my hair without the bigger blonde lady butting in and telling her what to do. I felt like she was watching my every move. During my visit there, another blonde lady who also worked there came in and she looked like a street walker and was loud and obnoxious. Her boobs were hanging out of her dress and was talking really loudly on her cell phone. These stylists are rude and it seems like they are in a hurry to get one in and then out..... The place is pretty clean but the Asian stylist uses the same towel on different people, she also does not speak English and is rather rude when you cannot understand her. She will just walk away when people are talking to her....rude! read more

Yikes. I just got one of the worst haircuts of my life at this place. I wasn't expecting much, but since I just needed a trim I figured I'd give this Supercuts a shot. My stylist Phuong Tran didn't speak much English, but fortunately I'd brought a picture of the haircut I usually get so she had a visual of what length the cut should be--literally 2 inches shorter than what I walked in with. She had me look down, then proceeded to saw off chunks of hair with a comb with a razor in it. Ouch! I looked up to find she'd taken off at least 8 inches of hair! I asked her not to cut it any shorter and she said she would just layer it (since it was random lengths) and she proceeded to cut out more random chunks of hair on the top layer--no clipping sections of hair up or comparing lengths from one side of my hair to the other. Eventually I just told her to stop, paid, and got out of there. Seriously, the cut looks like a third-grader did it, and the ends are still in bad shape because the razor comb made them frizzy and look like split ends. And this stylist has apparently been there ten years? Seems like ample time to learn how to give a proper trim and communicate with her customers. I won't be going back. read more

The people aren't nice at all. I feel like I am an inconvenience the moment I walk in. The female employee that cut my hair did not talk to me at all except for when she asked me what cut I wanted and to hand me the mirror, I'm serious! She cut a little too much than what I explained to her to do. After is said that, she kept repeating "see?" While showing me that what she cut was ok. She wanted my approval so badly that I felt like I wasn't going to leave the chair if I didn't say it was good. $19 for a below average hair cut is definitely not worth it. This is definitely the last time I go to a Supercuts. I try to put myself in the shoes of these employees but I've worked too many retail jobs to understand that customer service is so important in an experience so I can't. They need to work on developing customer service skills. read more

I recently went into this salon to get a shampoo, cut, and color. Nancy greeted me when I walked in. She was very friendly and asked me specifics as to what I was looking for. I have been to high end salons in the past and she did by far the best color and cut I have EVER had. She did EXACTLY what I asked her to do. I've been getting my hair cut and colored by Sam the new manager since March 09. She's awesome and does a great job! I've never been disappointed with how my hair turned out. Since Sam has taken over, the shop has been remodeled and is clean and beautiful! I've always made an appointment, but the walk in's coming in during my color rarely have to wait. The staff is friendly and makes sure I'm comfortable while my color processes. For my full foil and cut, I paid just under $100 bucks....you can't beat that! I'll be back Sam! read more

I went in for a haircut. There was one guy answering the phone, working the desk, and cutting a client's hair. I felt bad for him. He was so stressed out he seemed annoyed by my presence (even though I called in advance to get a sense of how busy they were), but I really needed my hair cut that day. Eventually some other stylists showed up. The girl who cut my hair was terrible. Listen, I really try to be fair and give people the benefit of the doubt. I know that hair stylists aren't miracle workers and that the end result can vary from what you originally envisioned. I can live with that... but I really felt like the girl who cut my hair didn't care about understanding what I wanted done. She even rolled her eyes at me when I politely tried to tell her that I wanted a little more off the back. In the end, she did a sloppy job. I left feeling frustrated and offended. I left for my trip with a bad haircut. I had it fixed at another salon as soon as I got back. Maybe they do have some great stylists who work there, but my experience was irking enough to never want to go back. read more

At the Supercuts in Northgate I got a haircut from "XZachary". His behavior was standoffish, unfriendly and aloof but since I didn't go there to be pals I sat for my haircut. As I look at it now a few days later parts of my hair look 'chopped' instead of cut, the right and left sides are different lengths in spots and on the top the haircut actually accentuates my thinning hair. I'm sure there are skilled haircutters in this shop and maybe on a better day XZachary is one of them but he sure wasn't any good on my day and I won't be going back there. read more
