This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went in there for a simple haircut and they said no problem 10 minutes and then 10 minutes goes by and someone comes in and I guess they had an appointment because they got to go first that's fine but then another 10 minutes goes by another person comes in and I guess they also had an appointment which is fine but a total of 4 people come in with appointments I guess because I end up sitting there for 40 minutes before I see them talking about me and then saying that it will be another 10 minutes! Like are you serious? You could have told me that it was going to be 50 minutes when I first walked in instead of just keep telling me it was going to be another 10 minutes! I called in, and the girl who answered the phone told me in a rude tone "You need to speak up." I ignored the poor way she chose to tell me she couldn't hear me, and came in. I wasn't greeted by any of the 5 stylists, so was unsure if I was checked in. Sang? cut and styled my hair. I asked her to cut off an inch, and she showed me she was about to cut off 3 inches! Thank god I asked her to show me first! She definitely doesn't know what an inch is. Then she curled my hair and it looked bad. Very bad. I had to wash it that night, after I fixed it before I went out. Besides the not good experience I had, I heard the blonde stylist with the short hair tell her client "What are you, 5?! SHOW me how you want your hair!" As he was explaining what he wanted she said "SHOW ME!" And was laughing at him as if she was so annoyed. I couldn't believe it. As a mother it made me sad to see an adult woman be so rude to a teenager. I will not be bringing my family here. read more

I walked in and felt so welcomed by the staff. After asking one of the employees, Eliazar, about blending my dark roots with my blonde ambre, he suggested a few techniques in which I gladly agreed upon. After assessing my hair, he suggested that I try going more natural. Forty minutes later, I couldn't be happier with how my hair turned out and will continue to be a patron of this facility because not only did he take great care of me, but the staff made me feel like a valued customer they had known for years. My 9 year old daughter had her hair washed and cut today. The woman who did it was great (don't know her name) My problem started when I was being charged an adult wash and cut price. The difference between an adult cut and a wash and cut is $3, so I expected the kid cut plus $3. I feel it is unfair for me to pay $5 extra for the wash. I wasn't even that upset about the money , I was just trying to understand why washing a kids hair costs more. The response from the staff was very upsetting. One woman, Hannah, was very RUDE! She was standing up front when I was questioning the fee and cut me off saying "that's just the way it is" with the whole eye roll and head bobbing. It's not the first bad experience I have had with her(she has been there a long time), so I usually avoid her. I'm pretty sure she is the one others have complained about too. I think the manager was standing there too but avoided eye contact with me. I would have just paid and forgot about it if it wasn't for being talked to so RUDELY in front of my daughter and other customers. read more

I stopped by there today for a quick haircut. When I walked in there were 3 people getting their haircut and 1 person waiting. There was a lady at the front desk, who wasn't helping a customer but writing stuff down and looking on the computer who NEVER acknowledged me while I stood there for about 2 minutes. She didn't even to say "Hi. I'll be right with you." After being ignored I was finally barely acknowledged when a stylist came over to the register to check out a customer and asked my name and when I asked about the wait time was pretty much ignored. I needed a haircut pretty bad but I won't be giving my money to them with such horrible customer service. read more

I got my haircut by the manager today and she was awesome! I highly recommend her. Best haircut I got in Monterey County. She walks you through the haircut and makes you feel so comfortable and you're not going to end up with a surprise, but something you wanted. Super happy with this super cuts location and specifically because of Dilma! She is amazing! She has always been a sweetheart! She doesn't make it awkward like some stylists do where you just stay quiet hoping for it to end soon hahaha. Always great convo but more importantly, a great job! I've never had an issue and I hardly recommend things or people but I have recommended her to several co workers and family members. It is true, make an appt before walking in. I went into Supercuts today to get my son a haircut. When we walked in, no one acknowledged us. All of the stylists were giving haircuts so I figured someone would tend to us when one was available, so we sat down to wait. More stylists arrived in addition to more walk-ins. Every walk-in was acknowledged and assisted as we continued to wait. Only one person had an appointment. I was astonished that no one asked us if we had been helped or had an appointment. Four men walked in and were helped immediately as I wrestled with a cranky and noisy 11 month-old baby and an antsy 7 year-old waiting to be helped. Service was atrocious so we left without a haircut following an unacceptable wait. All of the employees were busy at that point helping everyone that arrived after us so there was no one to complain to without interfering in someone else's service. I am using YELP as my forum of complaint. I would NEVER take my kids there again!!! That was the worst service I have ever experienced. They should be ashamed! read more

Worst haircut I've ever gotten. My hair is longer on one side than the other and my bangs are very sort and uneven. Save yourself the hassle, the price is great but the service is terrible. It's cheaper to pay a little more than to pay to get it fixed. My bangs aren't even fixable, I had to spend $100 on hair extensions to hide it until it grows back out. Very very disappointed. I've hated hair cuts as far back as I can remember and when I moved to Monterey I hated having to find a new barber even more. But, I eventually dropped into super cuts and got my hair cut by Quang, and I must admit that Quang legitimately does a perfect if not as close as it can get to perfect job. He's patient and never fails to disappoint. Make sure to make an appointment though, if you show up during a busy day you might have to wait a good 45min. read more

You know I agree with Melody B! Hannah simply refused to do the scissor cut I wanted on my sons head! She said she didn't know how to do it and was going to use the guide blades--really? It means you are just to lazy to cut the hair. Dom did the scissor cut once or twice while I was sitting there with him, but the one time I sent him in without me--they would not listen to what he wanted for a hair cut. So no when I come in their is only Angie who cuts his hair and god help us if she has a day off--which was today. We had a 4 pm appt, hoping to get "Song", or Elizar, but ended up waiting for 2 1/2 hours! Really I had a melt down and left my son their to call me for pick up. They "reserve 3 to 4 people in a time frame, but don't take into consideration how many stylist are working that day! Besides the one or two good stylists they have.....The rest of you all suck! I'm seriously gonna go drive to Monterey Supercuts or the hair cut place at the shopping mall! Hell even the military barber does better service and cuts! read more

As a female, and young girl, appearance is very important to me, and I am very protective and careful of my hair [for the most part] I recently dyed my hair myself, because researching the prices online at what they would charge in salon, $100-150 for a single color, when I was planning on doing 2,did not seem all too inviting. I went to get my haircut the next day, and did not encounter any waiting and was able to find hairdresser right away [only good part of my visit] I had grabbed some magazines to refer and point out the cut I wanted to the stylist, and as she could barely speak English, she also managed to question why/what I wanted to do with my hair. "You want to do that to your bangs??" I'm sitting there just thinking "Lady, I'm paying you money to do something I could do at home, so why don't you just try and help me get it as right as I can?" She cut the bangs too short, and I had a very hard time trying to explain to her exactly what I wanted and her interpreting it correctly [English education contributed to that dilema] I got out of the chair and went back to the waiting area and consulted with my mom, almost in tears. I had come in with the attitude to "Not worry, it will look better than it did" but still, as a girl, and a perfectionist at that, the mediocre haircut did not suit it in my mind. The hairdresser overheard and saw, and called me back to the chair to fix it, but still did not turn out the way I wanted it to. Left very dissapointed, and a overall bad experience for one of the few haircuts I've had in my life. read more

We have been coming here for a really long time. Ashley always cuts my son's hair & I refuse to let anyone else! She is also the only person I let cut & color mine! She's the best! That is the only reason why I'm giving 5 stars! Ashley is AWESOME! Today however we walked in instead of reserving a time online & we asked the receptionist how long the wait would be for Ashley. She said "20 minutes" which was perfect for us! So I put my son's name down & we sat down to wait, I picked up a magazine & my son played a game on my phone. While we were waiting manager very rudely asked me who we were waiting for. She didn't say "excuse me" or anything! I was looking at a magazine & I didn't hear her & she wasn't in my line of sight so I didn't know she was talking to me. I told her Ashley & then she gave me a dirty look! I have never had anyone there ever treat me like that there! A few minutes later Ashley came over to get us & the manager told her there was someone else before us. We had been waiting 20 minutes already & if Ashley had another person before us I should've been told the wait would be longer! Apparently someone had called in while we were waiting. I asked the receptionist "You said 20 minutes right?" She said yes & then I said because "it's been 20 minutes & nobody said it would be longer" & then I got another dirty look from the manager! Absolutely ridiculous! I don't know what that lady's problem is, but something needs to be done about her attitude! When we were leaving she had disappeared & there were a lot of people waiting. read more

Been coming here for years and have always been happy with Sang's haircuts. She is excellent at her craft and I am always comfortable and anxiety free when she cuts my hair. She is also very good and caring with my older brother who is developmentally disabled. Sang is my favorite stylist and Quang is my backup if Sang happens to be on vacation or is off. read more

She's awefully friendly and a GREAT stylist. I give her 5 stars hands down. I would reccomend her to ANYONE who's picky and worried about bad hair cuts. read more

I arrived Sunday, August 5 with my mother for the two of us (each) to get a haircut. This was a first-time visit for us, and upon arrival we stepped up to the front desk/cash register area to seek out a sign up sheet; or to put our names in. From where we stood, we were immediately approached by a male employee. He seemed to expect me to speak first and instead of a "hello", I greeted him first. The salutation was not returned; rather, he asked in a monotone, "your last four digits?" I was taken aback; being that I am not from Monterey County and was just visiting I thought this was just the way salons do business there. My reaction was of course, silent puzzlement as I was processing this peculiar inquiry; and apparently after about five seconds of silence, it was too much for him to repeat: "last four digits" to the obviously "clueless" customer (me). He was a little exasperated with my lack of understanding (and surprise) that he had asked me for my "last four digits" instead of perhaps asking at least for mine and my mother's first name. That would have seemed to be a much warmer and personable approach; never the mind the fact he did not return my "hello", I would have let that go, if it were something like: "may I have your names?" Nonetheless, I was not ready with a quick answer on "last four digits" so at that time a female employee intervened and she even seemed exasperated as well. She stepped up to the cash register/computer and while facing my mother and I, (the male employee stepped away) she said, "we need the last four digits of your telephone numbers". Well, now that we had cleared that misunderstanding; this complete sentence from the young lady, albiet with a chilly attitude did give us more information of what it was required of Supercuts in Seaside to receive the first step in customer service. (Thank goodness it wasn't last four digits of our social security numbers; that was my very first thought when the guy asked for "last four digits"....those three words only). So, at that point my mother and I were able to fully cooperate with what obviously seemed to be their policy to get on with their day. And not until then and after a slow, tired sigh from the female employee ; we were asked what our first and last names were. Our information at this time was officially in "their system" ! Although we were seated almost immediately, we were treated coldly and they were even a little dismissive during small conversation. Usually at any given place, it is the salon employee who cheerfully makes small and light chit-chat but these people seemed daunted by their customers. When my hair was finished (yes, the employee cutting my hair did follow my instructions, she cut two inches "all the way around"); when she was done, she abruptly shoved a mirror in my hand (no word at all) when she finished. I looked at it, and stated to her that I would like it a little shorter by the ears and she actually argued with me saying, "ohhh, no ~ that would be too short. Tooo short. I did what you asked me. I cut two inches all they way around. No, No, that would be too short." I know that was her short-hand and around about way to tell me she did not want to do anything else. I understand that many salon employees do get customers who ask for "more than one haircut." But this would have been a simple scissoring up at the ears. I contritely said, "ok." (impolite people make me nervous) I followed her to the register to pay for both mine and my mother's haircut. Right from the beginning we felt unwelcome and probably should have walked out. Personal circumstances these past few weeks disallowed either my mother or I to have our haircuts done at our usual "places", and it being a Sunday and it was a rare chance to get overdue haircuts that day (or a far ahead date at our usual places), we resolved to just "pay the people and get the h*ll out of there". Being that I have worked many decades in the customer service industry; I have a lot of respect for those who work with the public. Therefore, I think I took a little more crap from these people than I should have and feel a little shamed to not have been the slightest bit rude back to them. We did not arrive right at closing. It was the middle of the day. The two employees who had the overwhelming task of taking us in as customers and incidently, were the ones who cut our hair seemed to be just having a bad day. Their bad vibe felt really uncomfortable; and thank goodness for all the kind and polite customer service employees in the world, we appreciate you! read more

Based on reviews I read, I went to Supercuts @ Sand City and asked for Suky. The outcome was a nightmare. I asked to have my layered long hair cut shorter by 2 inches and to leave the fringe long enough for me to tie into a ponytail so that I can exercise with my hair up. She took at least 5-6 inches off all round, destroyed all my layers by cutting everything one length, and cut my fringe in the front of my face so short that it keeps falling onto my face now and there is no way to tie it up or push it behind my ear. This is really terrible as I specifically indicated before she started what I wanted, and showed her a picture. She ignored the picture, proceeded to wet and cut my hair, and then when she discovered she had cut my fringe too short, she proceeded to give advice as follows "if too short, you use clip to clip up hair on head'. I was totally upset and was upset for days afterwards, and I am still upset. I just moved into this area and this has not helped made me adjust to my new move. Do not ask for this stylist as her command of English is minimal, and she is not interested in trying to communicate. I think their objective is to start snipping away and get it over with as soon as possible so that they can take in more customers. I am extremely disappointed with the overall standard of the place. Lower price does not have to mean bad quality. If she cannot do what I asked, she should have just said so and recommended another person who can manage the style I was after. Taking on something which was beyond her capability and skill was irresponsible. I wish businesses and its staff would take more responsibility to provide quality service and not just perform their job in a hapazard manner. Total experience was traumatic. My hair is not too short to be 'saved' by another visit to a hair salon. I will just have to wait for it to grow back and then try another place. This experience leaves me upset, disappointed, and extremely stressed out. I still have not found a way to do my yoga without getting hair all over my face. Having a clip did not help as she cut it so short that nothing can hold it in place at the moment......sigh... If you have to go, ask around if there is anyone in there with better skills in cutting hair......... good luck! read more

I tried this place on a recommendation of a friend and was terribly disappointed. First - I asked for my hair to be cut to the length of my shoulders - and it ended up about 3 inches above that with unbelieveably short layers hacked into it. Honestly, I now need a wig. Second - at the register, one girl rang me up and gave me a total then another girl came up and told her she was doing it wrong and finally a third girl came up to add to the mix and charged me an additional $9. I asked why the difference and was told it was the level of haircut. Huh?! Third - the girl who waxed my daughter's eyebrows should have never been allowed near the wax unsupervised. They were completely crooked and she didn't remove all the hair. When I asked her to fix it she said "I'll try but it might not work". Seriously?!?! Umm.. hello - you told my daughter you could do eyebrows and then you leave her looking like a side show act?! And I paid for all this pleasure to the tune of $60 - not counting having to pay a different salon to fix Supercuts wax disaster. And here's the kicker - not one of them even attempted to apologize!!! NEVER EVER again. I would have been better off doing it myself. I've had absolutely NO training and am positive I could have done a better job. read more
