I am SOOO happy with Maricela's work (the owner). I received a lot of compliments! She colored, cut, and styled my hair in less than 3 hours. She took her time and was super gentle and detailed with everything. I noticed that she was answering phone calls, greeting clients, and booking future appointments all while working on my hair. Very impressive! She is a great multitasker and didn't make me feel unattended. This only shows how dedicated and committed she is to making ALL* of her clients feel happy and welcomed. Although Maricela is a good hairstylist, she is very unprofessional and consistently late. I was a client of hers for many years and during that time she was late to the appointment (SHE herself scheduled with me) at least 45 minutes if not more, MULTIPLE times. It is incredibly disrespectful to feel so entitled that you expect your clients to wait for YOU when we all know that courtesy does not extend to the client. She is completely dismissive and offers no apologies. Today I had already waited 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment. Her colleague alerted her that I was waiting, and I asked her how much longer she would be, and she was completely unbothered. She had the audacity to ask if I was in a hurry as she preoccupied herself with two other clients, not even making eye contact with me. I didn't know you could only be seen on time if you're in "a hurry". I walked out and will not return. Save yourself the headache and find another hairdresser. I did have to wait a bit after my appointment time because Maricela was busy with another client but it wasn't a long wait. Maricela is really kind and just really cares about her clients. $25 CASH ONLY for a haircut, sure. If I'm getting a mini trim, I'll try a new hair salon for an affordable price. Lorraine was nice and understanding of what I wanted. I usually show up to hair salons with wet hair (to avoid extra charges for washing). After the trim, my hair was blow-dried to perfection AND I could've gotten it curled FOR FREE. Marisella has been coloring my hair and cutting it for a few years now. I really like that she will be straight forward with you when you try to make a drastic change and explain the damage it can cause to your hair. She has lightened up my hair little by little. I really like the color I have right now. She is very popular as she's the business owner and has A LOT of clientele, but if you schedule in a timely matter it's not an issue to get an appointment and continue your touch up. Well....I didn't think to spend 5 hours at the salon!! I've gotten my hair done for the same thing I got here and I've spent the most 3 hours at the most and here it was a total of 5 !! Just to come out hating my hair!! I wanted bayalage done and it came out like ombré and way too much blonde at the bottom which I didn't want and that's not the worst part ! Lorena which was the hair stylist she decided to bleach my top hair so it can look lighter brown and blend with bottom blonde but she left my root lighter than the rest of the portion ! Like how can you be ok leaving your clients hair with the root bleached ?!! She ended up charging me $160 for a shitty job that I probably could have done myself !! I will never go back to her again!!! I've gotten my hair done at other salons that don't charge as much and leave me looking good but I trusted the reviews here and decided to give them a shot but it was a fail. read more

I do not recommend this place to get your hair dyed by Laura. She did a horrible job, and over charged me. I had my hair originally red. So I asked for a redish orange. She proceeded to bleach my roots and I was very confused but I let her do her job and didn't say anything. I ended up with two different colors, an ugly orange on the top and a red brownish color the bottom half : / .... She charged me $130 for this. I went straight to sallys bought hair dye and fixed it my self. I didn't do it myself in the first place because I felt a professional would do a good job, but I was wrong. read more

Maricela was definitely the IT person to go to for my haircut. My friend's long months of convincing me to cut my buttocks-length hair finally paid off. I let her kidnap me for the day to take me to Salinas to get my hair done. I don't regret it one bit. The salon is small, with only three chairs to cut hair, but luckily with our appointment, we were able to be serviced right away. Maricela is an absolute doll. Same with her daughter. They knew how anxious and nervous I was to cut my hair--from start to finish, Maricela was honest in how my hair should look, and constantly informed me in what she was doing with my hair while cutting it. Teeth were clenched, and my knuckles turned white d/t me gripping the seat too deng hard haha. She had also offered to color my hair, which I was going to turn down initially, but when she said with color and haircut, it would only cost me $60 bucks...are you kidding me??? Of course I'll take it! Saves me hecka money! lol Overall, she did such a wonderful job on my hair. It's getting longer now, and I honestly don't know if anyone else can do what she did with my hair here in SJ. They're very nice and I can tell they try to do a good job, but I cannot recommend this place. My hair was 100% natural and now it looks FRIED. I showed pictures but I think they are so busy that there was no time to discuss what I was looking for thoroughly. The color does not suit my skin color at all, even after color toning. It's brassy and ashy at the same time, dull and frizzy. The haircut is not what I asked for, either. It's what I get for trying to save a buck. :-( read more

Maricela is bi-lingual, answers her phone and keeps her appointments, which is more than I can say for most of the high priced salons in the area. Great cut and wonderful color which took 3 steps, yet I was still out of the salon in under 3 hours with a blow dry. Won't go anywhere else from now on. Book at least 2 weeks in advance. I decided I needed a trim and walked-in without an appointment. Everybody was courteous and offered me a seat. It seemed pretty busy but I only waited about 10 minutes to get a haircut. I liked it a lot. And I don't say that easily because my hair has a lot of "swirls" sometimes it is difficult to get a nice cut. I would recommend to any guy with short to medium hair. read more

I was able to get a quick appointment the same day, granted it was a weekday. The salon is small but quaint. The hair product smell is strong in there though. I'm glad I didn't have to stay in there for very long, otherwise I'd get a headache. All I wanted was a trim for my A-line haircut, which I'm trying to grow out. So I'm in this awkward in-between phase for my hair. The hairdresser was good and quick, but I'm not sure how I feel about her using razors all over my hair to cut it. My hair felt very rough at the ends. Other salons used scissors to cut my hair. My hair cut came out fine for $25.
