I started coming to Lety's Hair Designs in late 2020 and continue scheduling my hair appointments with Lety! She is a great hair color specialist who initially corrected my hair color from the beginning! I am always impressed with her work and she advices you on how to properly take care of your hair and offers you suggestions on what products to use. I always feel in the best hands when I come to my hair appointments as she does not rush the process. Loved my end result #balayage read more

Letty is my go-to for hair cuts and color, especially hair cuts lately. She's able to bring my vision to life and I ALWAYS leave refreshed and a new person after my appointments! TYSM Letty! You're the only person I trust with my hair! read more

I have gotten my hair done here a few times and letty did a good job. The last time I went to letty was to get my hair dyed black she charged me $175 to dye my hair from a brown to a black and didn't even dye it correctly. I had a lot of brown still in my hair. She had to re-dye it after I called her to complain. It's sad how she over charges and doesn't care to do the job right since she is always in a rush because she overbooked her clients. Not worth it and won't go to her ever again. read more

AMAZING SERVICE!!! I can't thank you enough for the Cinderella extensions. No color was added at all to my natural hair, I went in wanting full hair and length and that is exactly what Letty gave me mind blown on how accurate the extension's were to my real hair. Very professional and explained how to care for them in detail- Extramely happy I will see you again when I take my daughter soon read more

I really don't like to give bad reviews but I was at most disappointed when I got home. There are not many good salons in Salinas and this one has decent reviews. I decided to give it a shot. It was probably one of my bigger regrets. Luckily bangs grow out quickly but on my left side of my bangs they chopped a whole chunk of my hair off. I wanted face framing bangs and this whole cut was just straight across. It was not blended at all and the hair on-top of it is what is covering it. If I push my hair behind my ears like I normally do, you can literally see it straight across and how chunky it looks. I will probably be wearing my hair up for a while. As for the front view. The left side, it is way longer than the right. It is very crooked. When I told the stylist that she cut a whole chunk off she seemed offended and she told me to pull my hair down. And it fixes it and that's how it is supposed to be. I didn't want to argue so I agreed that it was okay. Since it was only $10 I didn't want to argue and I guess it really is you get what you pay for. read more

I've been cutting my hair here for 13 years. Best place I've ever got my haircut in my life.

I went to this place base on reviews. I got an appointment with Letty and asked for an inch trim she went ahead and used a comb and hair clipper go trim not only just an inch but more hair off and left me with broom like hair so botched she went straight trough with the clipper. I was shocked at what she was doing but I also assumed it was a new Technique. Most horrible haircut I will never go back. read more

Got there on time but had to wait about 20 min and she saw about two other clients at same time- I showed a picture of what I wanted and ended up just with a touch up of my grey hair, asked for a haircut and she said I didn't need it! She was obviously on a hurry. $240 later..... was very disappointed, go somewhere else read more

I'm honestly so happy I found Letty through Instagram. She did such an amazing job on my hair. I love how she really knows what she's doing & takes the time to listen to what you really want. I can't wait for my next touch up!! Definitely recommend read more

This place is overpriced and the owner is very unprofessional she can cancel at any given moment but when you cancel on her the heifer gets all bent out of shape I don't recommend it to anyone who wants a good experience read more

My first time here at Letty's Hair Design was amazing! I got my hair done by Letty, I had not heard about this salon but I was willing to try it out because I really wanted my hair done. I am completely amazed with the work that Letty did. I never really imagined my hair to be as blonde as Letty made it to be, I love it. I love how you are interacting with everyone in your salon. You clearly have a great team where everyone helps each other out! On a serious note: I definitely recommend your salon! Thank you! I will be back again! read more

Way over priced. Letty tried doing a "balayage" to only walk out with blonde all over my hair. My hair turned out damaged after all the blonde. I was charged $350+ for a hair job I didn't want. read more

Don't go here, I don't remember her name but she has a mole on the side of her nose I think. We discussed at length what I wanted and she assured me she's understood and will deliver. My gosh smh the result was so far from what I wanted it was ridiculous! Once my hair was dry she noticed the outcome and started panicking saying if i don't like she'll redo it etc she wouldn't stop talking! That was the first red flag I should've noticed! She would not stop yapping! I would have to raise my hands to get her to shut up for just one minute so I can make myself clear. But nope! She still ruined my hair!! Smh please save yourself the disappointment and headache and frustration and find another place. Smh do NOT go here. read more

This hair salon has low people skills. Letty is unprofessional and does not own up to her work. Do not come here.

Amazing, I've been coming to Letty for years bien she always does a great job in my hair! I'd like to remind everyone that the health of your hair is always going to determine how the dye job comes out as. You can't expect to transition from jet black hair to platinum blonde in one session, sometime it takes various sessions and treatments to get your desired look. But overall I highly recommend lety. read more

I was looking for a new place for my daughter and I. Daughter is new to hair salons. she already had a bad experience before now this 2 place. she asked for brown with light brown highlights she got ash blonde hair. This is my review. The owner is nice, staff is super welcoming and nice. My treatment was 75 I loved it made my hair go back to health appreciate it allot. My 210 dollars daughters experience was awful she did show a picture of what she wanted I thought letty understood she wanted browns. She gave her ash blond she's 15 new to salons. Letty did want to fix it to late not time anymore but I can see in my daughters face she was so sad. waiting 4 hours so we can fix it again was not going to change the fact what my daughter was unhappy. it saddened me that she was sad. We are not mad this is just our learning experience I wanted her to find a good place for both to share. Besides letty didnt finish it. it was her staff. Letty doesn't only work on one person she works on many at the same time she's working with you an clients keep on coming in for her every 45 min. Don't expect it to be one to one. Or 2 at the same time. Going home thinking what went wrong letty is too busy maybe that's what went wrong. if she would of paid more attention to one clients start to finish. my daughter would have had brown happy hair instead she's been sad unhappy an miserable. What really got me is that letty said it's the same as the picture .. no letty it's not close to it !!! I would not recommend letty hair salon. Letty I would not go back to you if you couldn't get it right the first. I honestly don't think you cant get it right the second time. No hard feelings it was just not a salon for me an my daughter. I do not want to fix it with you I'm looking for another salon that can get it right the first time thanks.. no point in reaching back we made our choice to choose someone else .. read more

I have been a customer here for over 5 years now and wouldn't trust anyone else but Letty! She definitely knows the process and satisfaction guaranteed! I love the way she is very honest about the process and very careful with my hair. She is one busy lady but always accommodates my "hair needs" and I appreciate that! The process may be long but I have never been disappointed... thanks again letty! read more

Letty has been my go to person for my highlights, low lights, blonde moments... etc. She is just amazing. She will turn anyone blonde without damaging your hair. I used to live in Salinas. I know leave in Los Angeles, CA and still drive 300+ miles just to have her do her magic. My hair is down to my buttocks, highlighted and healthy most of all. I will rather make the drive then to trust anyone else with my long healthy hair! I've been coming to Letty for about 12 years now!! Wow... even I'm shocked, I'm a picky bitch! Lol read more

I agree with latest review the owner or her sister never tends to one client they moves from person to person, the other workers have to pick up the slack for them, very un Profecional they over book appointment if you make an appointment with a stylist you expect them to not work other clients in between and is very annoying the over charge for the service they provide also my hair was burned because they left the foils in too long. would not recommend my hair looks absolutely awful. read more

Best place ever!. I was afraid to dye my hair. Letty and her coworker did a wonderful job. They did just what I wanted it.

First time and last!! so disappointed! Horrible Place!! Awful!!! Not recommended at all!! Specially with the wanna be balayage i don't think they know what that is or how it's done but they sure know how to charge for it($160). Was there for about 5 hours and mess up my hair 3 times and came out from there with orange hair which it was not what i wanted but they mess up so many times that they were not able to fix it anymore all they said was "sorry for this", oh but letty still wanted to charge me $195 for everything i am putting one star because it wont let me post this unless i put a star but honestly this salon should be close down or with people that actually know what they are doing! read more

Who has a baby shower at a beauty salon? Yes, this is what this hair salon was doing while I took my little brother to get a haircut. The guy scheduled me to come in at 3:45pm. He told my little brother that he was setting up tables.. we waited about 30 min and wouldn't come out. I went over to ask him if he was going to be able to cut his hair but he was too busy sitting down eating and chatting with the rest of the baby shower guests. He made me wait 40 minutes and left with no hair cut! Avoid coming here! read more

I have been going to Letty for several years. She always does an awesome job. I go see her about every 5 weeks. She's very professional & keeps up to date with the latest trends. I highly recommend her, make an appointment today you'll be glad you did, Everytime is always great result. read more

I've been Letty's customer for such a long time (around 10yrs) and she never disappoints. You have to make your appointment with plenty of time because since she's really great at what she does, she's super busy most of the time. I don't live in Salinas but I'm willing to drive an hour just to get Letty to work on my hair, her staff is also very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend her! read more

First time at Letty's hair Design and I loved it. Crystal is amazing! Great service!

Had an appointment with Letty but she doesnt respect the appointments she takes appointments every 30-45 mins her staff ends up taking over if you make an appointment with a specific person you expect that person to start and finish you right?? Nope but not here she tries taking as much people as she can starts and then end up passing you to her staff.. she also has learners who dont even know how to properly wash your hair. I show her a picture of how i wanted my hair and I definitely didnt get anything close to what i show her! Very pricey for the very low quality service they offer.. Will never go back.. letty also goes around asking people to give her 5 star reviews here .. a lot of her good reviews is her own staff soo dont get fool.. read more

If you want to get your hair extremely damaged without the hair stylist taking responsibility and treating you with no manners this is your cup of tea. I came in with letty to get my hair done. I had showed previous pictures and she said she would do it. I wanted a dirty blonde & I left with yellow, pink, grey, purple, silver, anwhite. On top of that the whole front of my hair falling off! So so awful. I already had light hair, if letty knew what she was doing this would of not happened. My hair has been breaking off I have been buying tons of products to try and repair my hair. She over books people because she's obviously money hungry & does not care to give good customer service. She is taking care of 3-4 clients at the same time running back and forward. Extremely unprofessional! When she was putting the foils in my hair she kept asking me to read her txt messages and reply to her clients! Yes! I know! I didn't know if to laugh but this lady was serious suck a joke. She acts her height don't come here and save yourself trouble. Also when I was there another customer went in to get money back that letty owed her and they were arguing making a scene. This place would get no stars if it was for me. Letty if you are readying this, practice your people skills and go back to cosmetology school honey. read more

This salon is absolutely terrible. I made an appointment with the owner for a haircut and this process took OVER 2 HOURS! Mind you she did not even get to me until the last 40 or so minutes of the 2 hours. I was made to wait 20 minutes just to get my hair washed by what I believe to be an intern at the salon. My hair was washed by what seems to me as someone who was just learning and hardly knew what they were doing- not to mention my hair was washed with cold water. I was taken to a chair where it took almost an hour just to blow dry my hair- again she seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. I wait another 15 minutes or so until the owner, the woman I had initially booked my appointment with finally gets to me. While I'm getting my hair cut a man from the salon who works as a barber walks by and sneers at me with a comment. The owner stayed quiet as he walked upto me, not saying a word. Beyond uncomfortable and machista. Comes time to pay and the haircut is ~$30 more than I as initially told. $(~65 total) She said it was because we washed and blow dried my hair. I was in awe, I was charged extra for a service I thought was included, not to mention it was done horribly and I was basically the interns guinea pig. AND I had to wait over an hour for the owner to even actually get to do my hair. Mind you this woman was working on a client upon my arrival, then she would alternate doing her coworkers hair. This salon is chaos. Unprofessionalism at its finest, these women stand around gossiping rushing thier work to get to the next client. I experienced this first hand and it was terrible. If I book an appointment for 6 I expect my hairdresser to be ready at 6, not two hours later when she feels like it after jumping around with 3 clients in between. Rushed worked, disorganized stylists, messy salon. Do not waste your time or money. read more

I have been doing my hair with letty for over 3 years and has done so many colors on me. She is the sweetest person and I always end up loving my hair! Letty is an amazing stylist! She is an especially talented haircutter plus, my hair grows very quickly. I have been a very satisfied client for many years. I started looking for a hair stylist and I thought mayby I would find some one that can work with my hair and be good at her work since I'm picky and my old hair stylist moved away, I went w letty because I saw her IG and it looked pretty good my hair was fully grown out blonde at the tips from my old blonde but mostly virgin hair I told her I want blonde high lights and I want them very light no yellow no orange so the top came out really nice but once I went home I noticed the high lights from the bottom were very brassy and orange so I called and one of the girls told me if i wanted her to fix it I have to call 2 weeks or 1 I don't remember after w no charge so it had been longer and I was like okay that's fine I'll schedule my touch up later and I'll ask her to fix it so I went in for my touch up and yes she always has u waiting almost an hour so when I finally sat down I told her about the orange high lights on the bottom and I said I'm sorry I'm very picky I don't like them please fix it but once she was done she sent another girl to wash my hair and shampoo it she never bothers to look at my hair and ask me if I liked it or if it came out okay cz she also did that the first time so once the other girl was about to start drying my hair I told her wait !!! That's not what I wanted I told letty to fix the orange high lights and they look yellow now so letty told her just put an ashy toner and I told her the toner will go away it's not gonna keep my hair light but she didn't care once they put the toner she was like oh it looks fine now !! I swear my hair looked white yellow and orange w my natural hair color man I was so dam pist because she made it worse I wanted to cry how can someone say she's so good at her work when clearly she's not she doesn't even care to see how it came out at the end Now I've heard similar story's from other girls and she's just not good with blonde don't go if you want blonde read more
