Got an appointment on short notice. One barber (the owner). She was friendly and gave me a good haircut at a fair price.

Dina is the owner and Paula is one of the stylists that works in her salon part time! I always feel like one million dollars with how my hair looks afterwards! read more

Dina is a super nice lady and helped me pick a style that I wanted (: When I went they only took cash and Zelle. read more

Dina is the best barber in the area. I'm a former Marine and VERY particular about haircuts and like a clean, even fade. She is always exceptional, very precise, and I'd go to her over anyone else at this point. She is so consistent that I don't even need to see the final result before I walk out, I know she's going to give me a perfect cut every time. read more

Mara cuts my curly gray hair very well. Mara cuts my hard to tame hair very well. Mara cuts senior men's hair very well.

Asked to keep length, as my hair takes a very long time to grow I didn't mind if the ends were still dead, she cut it very short and she knew it was curly so it would end up even more short, never going back. read more

If you want to get a good haircut Mari is the one for the job. Her service is amazing, quality is always the best and she takes time with her craft. Everytime I've came in for a haircut she's always gotten me right and gave me exactly what I wanted. She specializes in fades, tapers and scissors cuts. Recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality cut. Amazing service, the place is very clean and friendly. read more

Don't recommend! She not only didn't do the color I asked for, she was very rough and pulled at my hair when drying and even tangled it. Plus while I waited for her to finish the color which took way too long (she let it set for at least 45 minutes), she did about 4 people's hair, including two men's hair cuts and two women who left looking very disappointed. She shouldn't be in the business. I finally said I'd finish at home as I didn't want any more of my hair pulled out. read more

Dina, the owner of this family friendly hair salon, is a Seaside treasure. She is highly skilled, warm and friendly and pays attention to detail. She has many regulars that return over many years, she is truly a "hidden gem" . Make an appointment for a shampoo, cut or color. Walk ins are welcome but she is typically very busy. There is another chair hair professional she employs and children are also welcome for haircuts. I highly recommend Dina!!! read more

I'm confused and hurt. I made an appointment in advance and arrived early. I spent several minutes explaining the asymmetrical bob style I wanted. I've had it before, but it grew out when I moved away from my previous salon. I came in wearing a ponytail and described how I wanted my hair to be long enough for a comfortable ponytail. I brought pictures to show the style and length that I've had before. My hair wasn't SO different from what I wanted, it had just been too long since my last cut. Dina "yes'd" me and cut me off while I was talking. She didn't offer to wash my hair- even though I came in with gel product in it. Instead, she sprayed it with water from a bottle. I guess that should have been a red flag. Maybe she was in a rush? But I had an appointment so I don't understand why. She never spoke to me again, and within 20 minutes, she had cut almost all of my hair off. I was a little distracted and answered an email on my phone, but when I looked back up again, it was already too late. I was stunned and maybe a little bit in shock. She's the professional and I'm just a normal person, so I was hesitant to doubt what she was doing. She just kept cutting. At the end, she showed me a mirror and it occurred to me the extent of the damage to the back of my head: she had given me a pixie cut. I tried to put my hairband back in right in front of her but there wasn't enough hair to form a ponytail. She told me that she wasn't going to charge me for the haircut, since I didn't like it, but that's not going to bring my hair back. I came in with shoulder-length hair and asked for a relatively traditional, feminine style- what she gave me was something halfway between a pixie and a man's bowl cut. I'm guessing this is a style that older ladies like? Now I look like I'm making some kind of radical statement, when that was never my intention. I have to present myself in a certain way for my work and I'm going to have to explain that I had a hair dresser who didn't listen to me and did what she pleased, and I was too meek to speak up. I don't recognize myself in the mirror. My head doesn't feel like my own when I run my hand across my scalp. I feel violated. read more

The last 4 times I have tried to get my hair cut they have either not accepted card or have 1 person on staff and can't take walk in's. The last time I got my hair cut there the person who cut it didn't cut the top at all. Joke of a business and joke of a barber shop. read more

Monterey area is a place where barber prices are rarely posted, are expensive and provide mixed results at least for men's haircuts. Kleen Cuts prices are posted $27/$28 credit card for men's with prices of other Women's and Men's services posted. I got a thorough haircut, front, sides, back and top, plus ear, nose and eyebrow hairs. Shop is clean, well-organized with convenient parking including disabled parking and wheelchair/walker easy access. Woman barber "Sam" did an excellent job. The best haircut in trying several places in the past year and a half. PS. Sad that there are no review in the past two years. Prices on Yelp and websites are out of date. read more

I went in to get a hair cut and the lady asks me same style but shorter? I say yes but I like it long enough to cover the tops of my ears. She does a good job on the top leaving it about 2 1/2 inches but when I get home I notice that back is about 1/2inch long. WTF Who does that? She literally asked if I wanted it left a little long. I want to go back and ask for my money back but I am so mad about what she has done that i'm afraid I might lose my temper and say something mean and hateful. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Nor will I ever go there again. I paid $30 for the most embarrassing haircut I've ever had in my life. read more

Tina is the best! I highly recommend her . I have tried multiple high end places. None of those can beat Tina's services . She is good with hair coloring , cuts and styling . Her upbeat personality is a bonus. read more

Kleen Cuts - Hair Salons Near Me - Monterey, California

Dena is so wonderful. I've been seeing her for 3 years and have never been disappointed with coloring and cuts.

LOVE this place! One of the difficulties of moving is finding a stylist...Kleen cuts does an amazing job, they fit me in when I need it, listen to my request, give honest feedback, reasonable prices. I cannot say enough great things about this salon! read more

There good ish they did the hair style we wanted but they made the hair style in a short way. But I'm glad they got the stupid side part out if my hair. Really good at cleaning up the edges And I am writing the review for a male who got a hair cut here read more

Kleen Cuts - Hair Salons Near Me - Monterey, California

Only because you can't give them zero stars. I gave a woman photos of what I wanted and walked out with what she wanted and visioned with my beautiful hair. Yeah well the color is still nice but I also walked out in tears. She was not clean. She had previously cut my boyfriends hair before mine and had his clippers and razors mixing in with mine. Love my boyfriend but I don't want my tools to be placed on a dirty towel surface where all hair can be collected. I honestly will never go there again. And I do not suggest this place if you're going short. Wish I could post photos of my before and after head shots. read more

I used to pay 100 dollars for my haircuts in Menlo Park and was happy with the job they did. Then I moved to Monterey and ended up with Deena out of desparacy. I like her haircuts even more than the more expensive ones and have been going to her ever since. read more

Oh my gosh, this place is awful! I will never go back here. So I have a kind of "justin bieber" style haircut, but it was getting a bit long, so I went to get it cut. A woman started to cut my hair, and I told her I only wanted about half a centimeter off my bangs, and showed her where I wanted it cut. She said ok, and then cut at least two centimeters into my bangs. I know it doesn't really sound like much, but it is. It messed up the entire look, and it really upset me. Overall, this place sucks, and the only good thing about it was the staff was semi-friendly. read more

Had a 5:30 appointment and arrived at 5:33. As I walked in I noticed a lady with her son being sat down by Tina. Tina then asks me if I can wait for her other hair stylist for about 15 to 29 minutes. Her other hairstylist then asked me to come tomorrow. I told her my appointment was 5:30. Tina then asked if I wanted to wait until she cut her "walk-in's" haircut l. I said no thanks and walked off. 3 minutes late and i was pushed aside. Other times I've gone to appointments with her I've had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for other people. She couldn't even wait 5 minutes for me to arrive for my appointment. Seems to me she's more interested in making money and cutting as many peoples hair than providing decent customer service. This was the last attempt I'm giving her chances. Adios to bad service and hello to Great Clips! Great Clips does a way better job at fades and glad this actually happened because now I found a much better quality in haircuts as well as service! Very professional service at Great Clips! Highly recommend. read more

Gotta say that Tina is a lifesaver! She manged to fix what someone else had seriously ruined. You know you've got a good haircut when you can't stop looking in the mirror. I'm just so happy with how my hair turned out compared to how it was when I first walked in to Kleen Cuts. I had a pixie bob touched up at another location a couple months before coming here, and it went terribly wrong. My ends were uneven, I had a tail, and all of my natural volume was gone. Tina turned all around! She is amazing! read more

Hi If you really want to get a great haircut you must come on in to Kleen Cuts! I love this place. I always get my highlights done with Dina! She's an amazing women and very friendly, she right away asks about my day and starts a friendly conversation! I HAVE BEEN CUTTING AND GETTING HIGHLIGHTS ON MY HAIR HERE FOR 5 YEARS The staff is great too. From all the horrible reviews I've seen I only have one comment, no Hair Salon is Perfect! Specially not Super Cuts because trust me bad experience there. However, its either you have a great experience or you don't. People work hard to do there best and pleasing the world is an impossible task. I recomment this place 100% , However, if you don't like it then move on and go to another salon, if you do then keep on coming in and get your great haircuts. Go and check out the salon FOR YOURSELF! Don't judge a salon by reviews because you never know when you could be missing out on your best haircut ever! Or just another salon that you decide to move along from. experience it yourself!!! read more

Tina is the best! We discuss how I want it cut, she's honest with me about my hair type and whether it'll work or not. She is always conservative when she's cutting it shorter, which I love! I have 100% confidence in her ability and I'm not sure why she's not in a higher priced salon other than she has a bit of Robin Hood in her...LOL read more

I will never go back here again...I walk in with my daughter to get her a cut, the lady at the door smiled and said hi and the one sitting down at a station told me to sign in so we did. She already appeared to be in a negative mood (I get it, I'm in customer service and have bad days too). She comes over and says "Her hair is tangled, she needs a wash" (up charge attempt #1) and I said no it just needs to be brushed out it was washed last night...we go over to her station and I'm looking at books to show my daughter different styles...we decide on an a-line (which she has had before) so I tell the stylist this. She gets my daughter in the seat and says "I'll have to flat iron her hair because of the curls and I'll have to charge you extra" , my daughter has hair like mine, curly underneath straight on too, the longer it is the curlier it gets (up charge attempt #2) and I tell her no it can be cut the way it is, it doesn't need to be flat ironed she's had this cut before (I may not be a hairstylist but I've been to enough to know and have one in my family that is well known in my home town) So now she tells me she's going to have to charge me $16.95 because the type of cut my daughter wants....the listed price for a kids cut is $13.95 (I believe) and at this point I'm pissed, I told her she was ridiculous, grab my daughter and walk out. I'm not mad that she was in a bad mood, I'm not always pleasant to be around even at work I get it, what I'm mad about is the attempt to up sell numerous times on a simple haircut for a 7 year old, no layers, nothing fancy...very disappointed. I took her back to Supercuts where we've been before and her hair looks great, no shampoo or flat ironing necessary or even mentioned $13.95 for less hassle and attitude.... read more

My oldest son had a decent cut but my youngest...HORRIBLE! I asked to have it scissor cut because I didn't want it cut too short. His hair, which just needed a little trim, (kind of has a longer blonde style) went from almost touching his eyebrows to 1/8 in long at his "bangs" and about 1/2 in on the top?!? We ended up going back to have the other stylist fix his hair but its still really bad. We will NEVER go back. read more

Worst haircut I've ever had! I asked for a simple trim, straight across. Ended up with an an uneven bowl cut, 2 inches shorter than I had asked for. And to make a bad situation worse, when they asked how i like it, I told them it was much shorter than I had asked, they started to argue with me and trying to take more off. I would have been better off cutting my own hair or having my 3 yr take a shot at it! read more

Ask for Tina. You won't regret it! She always made my bangs look amazing, and when I went in and decided to chop my hair off (I went from halfway down my back to a pixie) she rocked it! I get compliments everywhere I go. Great prices, friendly service, great hours... I don't have a reason to go anywhere else! read more

I just had a haircut today, and I'm more than happy with the outcome! I had a picture with what my hairstyle wanted to look like and Rosa knew immediately what she has to do, and she did it even better! I came to this salon years back and I was always happy, my husband too. Everywhere I would pay three times more for the same haircut. Such talented people work there, Best thing they are open Sundays, the place is clean, people are pleasant. read more

Just moved to Monterey and decided to try them out. Paula gave me an excellent hair cut! She listened to what I wanted and cut it exactly how I wanted! I'm not scared to get my long hair cut anymore, I can definitely trust Paula with it :) read more

Went here after reading the reviews and I can honestly say this is the first time in many many years that I'm totally in love with my hair and completely satisfied. I will be going back for now on to see Paula every ) weeks to keep my new hair cut. Also I will be getting my hair colored there soon as well. I showed the girls a pic and asked them honestly if they could do it with my type of hair and they said yes and I didn't even think twice, so I went all in for it. The reviews made it easy for my to find a place and I am forever grateful for my hair!!!! PAULA IS AMAZING!!!! All the girls seemed nice and amazing. They also do massage there. And there right next door the Angel Nails and that's where I get waxed. So even more convenient for me. Feeling pretty fancy with my new hair and everyone loves it. Complete strangers come up to me wanting to know where I went! Good job ladies. And thanks again Paula. read more

Been going to Kleen Cuts for almost a year and my 5 star rating still stands. Mark is an excellent colorist and stylist and never disappoints. I walk out of here with a color, cut and blow out similar to what I would receive at a high end salon. Wouldn't go to anyone else.... read more

I asked a for a light trim. Something that I always get. My hair was about 3 inches long, and a light trim to me is maybe take off 1/8 to 1/2 inch max (something that I always get when I ask for light trim). So Ro-Sa cut my hair, and now my hair is less than an inch!! wtf? I didn't ask for this. Let's say I don't need to get a haircut for while and I won't go back there again! read more
