Highly recommend! Emma is a gifted stylist and the shop has a lovely vibe. I am always nervous about going to a new stylist as I have had some bad experiences. I usually wait till I travel to Portland for a cut with my regular stylist. It's been months though and my hair was in dire need. My experience with Emma at Alchemist could not have been better. She listened to what I wanted, applied her magic, and I left the studio with my hair and spirit shining from the experience. The result was what I had envisioned only better. Such a cute little salon in downtown Monterey. I decided to try this place out because a few of my friends have gone here, but upon reading reviews I decided to book with Amanda. Not only did she do an amazing job cutting and thinning out my super thick, wavy hair, she was so personable, sweet and friendly! What an incredible studio! The owner, Nicole, is so kind, talented, and accommodating. She has been doing my hair for YEARS and I am ALWAYS thrilled with the results. Sometimes I come in with an idea not knowing exactly how it would look best, and she tunes it to be exactly what I want. I love our conversations and the atmosphere of the studio. It is easy to book (always in advance though, this lady is popular!) and she offers great product reviews. Had such a great experience here! Ashley not only did an amazing job on my cut and color but she also worked quickly and efficiently. The salon is gorgeous. Great lighting, beautiful plants and an exposed brick wall had me wanting to MOVE IN. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable and were taking great care of being sanitary and wearing their masks.
