This review is only based on my experience with Lien. She has been my regular hair person for the last 3 years, and she is awesome. If you can describe what you want, she can cut it for you. I don't go anywhere else or use anyone else because of how consistent and reliable she is. Make sure you call an hour ahead because her schedule fills up quickly and is in only 4-5 days a week, not to mention their schedule changes weekly. It's too bad that they don't do appointments. I have been coming here for 7 years-ish. I don't get the complaints about consistency. I get consistent solid haircuts from my stylist every time. Mandy and Priscilla are great and will do everything to accommodate the time you need. Jackie is awesome. The women who cut hair here have consistently listened to what I've asked and delivered for about 2 years, and they only hire girls with equatable skills from my experience. They lose a star bc the front desk girl(s) have an entitled attitude. A different Supercuts butchered my hair so I called this location to see if I could get it fixed. Without consulting a manager, the woman on the desk immediately told me I would need to pay full price and basically accused me of lying saying the Dixon location that butchered my hair doesn't exist. When I asked if I could at least pay half, she said come in and ask, so I said I don't want to show up and be charged full price; Anything we can negotiate in person can be negotiated over the phone. At this point the girl got extremely irate and said she didn't appreciate how I was talking to her. I asked to talk to a manager, the manager offered to fix my hair herself for free 90 minutes after the call. On my way there, the other location's manager from Dixon called me and begged to fix my hair and give a refund, so I obliged and gave the money to the manager at the Davis location. Moral of the story: don't mind the desk girls any attention! They're snobby, rude and don't value clientele! read more

Every time we go here, we end up with a pretty poor haircut. Since it's easy to get to and quick, we've come a few times. This last time, the hairdresser did not listen to us or confirm the length of cut, and completely butchered my fiance's hair. Every customer and worker appeared horrified--it looked horrible. Another hairdresser did her best to fade the complete baldness from the back of his head to the long hair on the top of his head, but it didn't work. We ended up shaving him completely bare at home. Please go to more professional hairdressers, or do it yourself! You'll be much better off. read more

I never write reviews but after tonights experience i just have to. I went in for a bang trim for my daughter. My daughters bangs came out extremely uneven. I didn't get the name of the hairdresser but she had short hair and colored hair in the front. The whole haircut felt so rushed and she didn't even bother to try. First of all she didn't section out the hair, she just cut whatever was in front, which is very unprofessional. She was also cutting the bangs wavy, dried. It's very hard to tell if it's even if the bangs are wavy and not straight. I'm no professional but at least I know when the hair is wavy you should wet it. My daughter also saw a little boy get a lollipop right before her and was happy thinking she was gonna get one too after the haircut but no, they didn't even bother to offer her one. I've been to many different hair salons and never had such a bad experience. Also, we paid $10 for the trim. I mean, yes it's a little overpriced just for a bang trim but if they would have took the time and not did such a bad job then $10 wouldn't be bad. I just felt ripped off. I could have done a way better job for free. Never will I ever go here again. I mean, it could just be that hairdresser doing a bad job but it's not worth the risk. I have long, thick, mostly unmanageable hair. I wanted it chopped off, no particular style and no shampoo or extra fluff needed. Plain ole simple haircut, and this was the place to get it. Made an appointment same day, completely empty in the middle of the week mid-day. I guess they get busy during some peak hours. I came in early and was seen right away. I got Christine, she did a wonderful job. I'm the type of person who doesn't like small talk and I don't need anything fancy with my hair. She took about 3 inches off and gave me slight layers at the end (which I actually didn't ask for, but worked nonetheless. In her defense, I am VERY bad at describing what I want done with my hair). She talked if I talked, but I also loved to bask in the silence, no forcing small talk about where I went to school. I was in and out in under a half hour. $18 which is a little steep but the cheapest thing in the area. I guess the days of $12 haircut are long gone. Only possible downsides: 1.) If you want a pampering, warm, salon experience, this is probably not your place. You do get what you pay for but I would rather take a dull knife to my own hair than pay $50 for a haircut. 2.) I was never a fan of staring directly at myself in mirrors, I disliked the unsolicited self-reflection that was forced upon me. However, I guess there's no avoiding that. Overall, this place is one of the better Supercuts I've been to and I got my nice, regular hair cut here. I'm very happy and I loved how simple and plain the process was. I will return here for my next hair cut (they constantly reminded me to cut my hair every 4-6 months but let's be really honest...I just smiled and nodded while saying "sure, see you then!" when I knew it will be a minimum of a year before my next hair cut). read more

Let me start by saying if your barber is in a rush to get on their lunch break, and clearly doesn't care if you come out lookin' like a camel just chewed some of your hair off, you probably shouldn't let them cut your hair. I was rushed in and out even though I was the only person in the shop, with one long side burn and one really short one. This place has no talent what so ever at cutting hair. I had been there twice and both times they had cut my hair so bad. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. So I went for the second time and made It easy for them 3 on top 1 on the side. Left hairs long, no fade and it seemed they wanted me out as fast as possible. I Had to go home and fix my hair, fade it and go over all my hair again. I recommend the sane (if you want it done right do it yourself) I hope this place gets better in the future. Long hair reviewer here. Asked for tiny trim and re-do my layers. I even arrived 15 minutes late. They accommodated happily, and Jess was amazing-- she was funny, polite and didnt take off more than the smidge I asked for. Its a huge pet peeve of mine when stylists take more off than asked (like 2 inches and then im in shock and super pissed) "because its dead!" Not here. I cannot attest to coloring or complicated cuts, but I got what I wanted and it was done well. Fast, well-priced. Will definitely come back for trims and re-shaping layers!!! We arrived at 9:40am and asked for a haircut for our two kids ages 2 and 3. We were told it would be an hour and I verified with them that it would be at 10:40. After they agreed, we came back at 10:40 and waited for 30 minutes. At 11:10 they told us that it would be another 10 minutes before the first kid started his hair cut. At that point we didn't have time to get haircuts because we would need to eat lunch and get down for naps. I get that it was a busy day, but communication is vital when working with kids. We had to forego a trip to the park because of their lack of communication and we didn't get our haircuts either. read more

I want to give it a better rating but the "Big Business" ruined the feel for the nice haircut. I got a good hair cut. The pricing was decent. But then the at the end my coupon wasn't good because I didn't print it out on paper. And the employee had no flexibility to use common sense. Just apologized and asked for the money. Took my daughter to get a haircut, and didn't want her to walk out with wet hair. I asked to have her hair blow-dried, which they told me was going to be another $20 or $25 (I don't recall.) I agreed because it was a cold day out. The haircut was not good at all. I had to fix my daughter's bangs later on myself. The blow dry was awful. The stylist spend about one minute with the hair dryer and yanked my daughter's head around. I was appalled. We will not go back. This was the worst visit we ever had at the Davis Supercuts. I did not expect anything spectacular but I honestly could have given my daughter a better cut and she (at 8 years old) could have blow dried her own hair better. What a waste of money that was! I like this Super Cuts. I think all the stylists are good, but I really voted the 5 stars for Jackie. I a have hair like David Letterman and every haircut I've ever had from a chain place was inconsistent and very poor. Not only is my hair a challenge to cut, but all the stylists (everywhere) really don't care or listen... This is not the case with Jackie - the quality of the cut is awesome. She is real a talent and I always get a consistent, quality haircut. read more

Well, this is the second time I didn't get what I want from a student from the Paul Mitchell School. I wonder if they teach them how to really cut a style, and I'm starting to doubt that they teach the students how to really listen to their clients? The first time I got a bad cut was a student at the school, today was a professional at this Super Cuts. Why did I get the same results? Because they're doing something consistently wrong with their students. Both times I asked for a long bob with some layers. Both times, I got a blunt cut with just some shaping around the face. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME CUT, PEOPLE. A long bob is more undercut so that the outside hair hangs over and curls slightly under at the ends, and the length is textured so the hair doesn't hang in a lump. A blunt cut cuts the ends all the same length. Blunt cuts hang straight and if you have straight hair like mine, look heavy with no body. Long bobs look awesome on me because they have lightness and body, frame my face, and do my not-pretty face some favors. Blunt cuts accentuate all the wrong things, flat on top with no lift, flip out at the bottom, hang heavy, and look terrible on me. So frustrated! I can't say I would bother coming back. So disappointed that ONCE again, I have to go home and cut my own hair to get the cut I already paid for. read more

I have been going to this Supercuts off and on since 1987 when they were on G St. I stopped going a number of years ago for my own hair, but have been taking my sons there for well over a decade. NO MORE. The haircuts are sometimes okay, and other times terrible. But a young guy doesn't really care. But the other day, I called ahead to set a time, the receptionist said come on by in the next ten minutes, so we headed on over. There were people in the chairs since they had walked in during that 10 minutes, but that's was no problem. But then somebody with three kids who had called for a 5 o'clock comes in and then her kids were seated for their cuts before mine. I couldn't believe it! When I asked about it, I was told it was because she had called in. But that is what I did.Anyway, I am done with them. If it costs a few more bucks somewhere else for a haircut, that is fine with me. I will never give them my money again. Looking at these posts, it's obvious they really don't care what any of us think, so I guess it doesn't matter, except I do believe in voting with my money.
