I've been going to Belinda for at least 5 years now. After I moved to Dallas, I had trouble finding someone who I felt cut my hair the way I liked it. She is the best for me, personally. I give her free reign of my hair and she never disappoints. This salon is a fixture in the Cedar Springs community. They're the best at what they do. Very talented stylists who do have their core clientele. Any one of them could go work at another salon and have their own booth; yet the majority of them have been there for years and their dedication shows. Yes, the fact that they don't take true appointments can be annoying. I get up at the crack of dawn to be the first in line; and that entails being there at least 45 minutes before they open. I've seen the line 20 deep at opening. Also, you must be in line AT THE DOOR. Sorry, you're SOL if you're sitting comfortably in your car. They have a sign now which states this so shut up and do what everybody else has to do. I don't mess with trying to get my haircut during the day. The call ahead is a guessing game which they do try to anticipate. The last time I did it, there was a lady in front of me and we all know a woman's hair cut takes much longer than a man's. Their guess-ta-ment was way off so I did have to sit. Also, I've walked in 10 minutes after they opened and Belinda's wait list was booked the rest of the day. That's my girl. I like her to cut my hair. I've learned the game I have to play in order to make it happen for me with what I'm comfortable with. If you think you're too good to wait or don't have time, then go somewhere else but I promise you, they're this busy for a reason. They're awesome. They care about the community. They're a staple in the community. And you can't beat the price. Now, don't beat me to be first! read more

Came in as a walk in, never been here before and said well let's try it. I was asked if I checked in ahead of time and I said no. Was told its going to be a 20-25 minute wait. 40 minutes later I check in with the front guy which is a bitchy little Latino twink answering phones every 5 seconds over the loud barbershop doo-wop music. Everyone who came in behind me is already being served. Not having a great impression with this place so far. The hair dresser called another person up who came in later than me then called my name. She did a good job which is the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. Took her time with full cut, shampoo and style. She wasn't all that talkative like some stylist so depending on your mood that's good or bad. Either way might come back but highly doubtful. Total Time 80 minutes. read more

My mother went to get her hair cut at this super cuts and she felt like she was treated very poorly for having thin hair. The man who cut her hair was impatient and his customer service was terrible. If I can give this place a negative rating I would!!! I was in dire need of a haircut on Sunday and unfortunately all the hair salons were booked so I ended up giving Supercuts a shot...biggest mistake. My haircut was so bad that it looked like a 6 yr. old got a hold of scissors and cut my hair! My hair was so uneven and left bulky in places... all i asked for was a trim and long layers. I want to clarify that my one star is for Vivian only. I have been to this Supercuts in the past and had a great experience. I am shocked she was able to get a job there. Today was horrible. Vivian does not listen, she is rude, lazy, and sloppy. I asked for a trim of one inch off. I did not feel like she was listening to me, so I repeated it several times. I have very long hair and this is not a difficult task. She cut 3-4 inches off, added layers that I did not ask for, and made a mess of the cut hair all over me. Usually my trims take about 25-30 minutes given how much hair I have. Vivian managed to chop of a significant amount of hair in just 10 minutes, leaving it uneven and looking awful. I do not even know how to fix it because I do not want to cut even more off. PLEASE, stay away from Vivian and request one of the other wonderful stylists who are friendly and who actually have skill. read more

I've been coming to the Gayborhood (Lemmon Ave.) location since I moved here about seven years ago and have been consistently pleased with my haircuts. I've been going to the same stylist for the past four years or so, and my cuts are always perfect. I've never been one to schedule my hair appointments and like the convenience of just walking in. I have been here a few times and have always been satisfied. My hair is very long and thick and they take great care of it! My boyfriend also loves coming here. He made the mistake of going somewhere else and he had to come back here and get it fixed. Lessons learned! The service is great and the prices are reasonable. However I would make a call ahead of time to see how busy they are especially if you hate waiting. read more

Ain't no shame in Supercuts! I was tired of paying $50+ for haircuts and needed one. I tried to go on a Wednesday around 430 and the wait was over an hour. Justin (the front desk guy, very nice!) told me to call about an hour ahead and put my name on the list. I went back on Wednesday, waited about 15 or 20 minutes still but I'd rather wait a little and only pay $15! Celeste cut my hair and she did a great job. I'll definitely go back! The only bummer is it's $10 extra to have your hair blow dried. I think that's a little silly so I just left with wet hair! read more

I can honestly say I will not waste my money going anywhere else. My boyfriend and I always come here for hair cuts. He found the place first. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They will give you honest advice if you ask. Mostly men, only 1 or 2 women, but I like it better that way. Plus, if you become a regular you can see the same stylist and develop a really good relationship of trust and honesty, which I think is really good when it comes to trying a new style! read more

This place was the bomb! Everybody was in a super good mood, clean, hot gays everywhere. Had a job interview and I was broke so I pondered the positive yelp reviews and drove on over. Celeste did a fabulous job with my shabby hair and was quick and very sociable. My Foursquare app scored me a $3 discount on a $15 hair cut! Place opens at 9. I show up at 9:02. Rachel, front desk lady, says "oh 2 people are ahead of you, so it'll be at least a 40 min wait." I look around and notice I am the only one there, besides one other person who is already getting a hair cut. Rachel says they called in. WTF!!! I am here now two minutes after you opened, and you're telling me I have to wait 40 mins because people who aren't here want a hair cut. I've been coming here for six years but nahhh, I'm done. I always get my hair cuts from supercuts but as i was in downtown i wanted to try a different branch. I have a very long pretty hair and not many people like to experiment with that. My hair stylist at this place also was not ready to cut it short. I wanted bangs and she was not very happy about it. But i insisted and she gave me bangs and a layer cut. This operation needs a visit from Tabatha Coffey of Salon Take Over!! Your told when you call, operators are booked; however, they DO NOT take appointments. Conflicting message!! You may call 15 minutes ahead of time; however, when you do, your told the operator requested is booked all day or they are out. The salon operators whisper and gesture about customers in full view of the waiting area. In all fairness to Mary... she is a star performer... good luck in getting her! A very reasonable price to pay for a haircut and you get an excellent do from virtually any of the hairdressers at this location. Some of the employees here have been here over 20 years. (you might want to call ahead because it puts you in line for a particular stylist or the next available--that way you're ahead of anyone who walks in after you call) I gave it five stars because even though it's not fancy or plush you can always count on these guys. Especially Ruben and Belinda. I'm really not familiar with supercuts in other locations but the word in the neighborhood is that we have the best one. read more

Laurence gave me a fantastic haircut! I was scheduled for noon but the appointment before me ran well over-he apologized and explained that he will never rush the person in his chair to get to the next person in line. I totally agreed since that's exactly how I'd want to be treated. He gave me exactly the cut and style I wanted and even took the time to explain how to blow dry my haircut (since I was going to the cheapie route and leaving with damp hair). Went to have hair cut on busy Saturday afternoon. Not a lot of parking this location, but we were fortunate to grab a spot right away.. Was told to wait 30-40 mins, but I didn't wait that long, about 20 or less.. The manager Wendy is super nice, and make me feel comfortable.. Was expecting close to $20, but I paid only $5 because of air and neck hair trim.. Happy with the price and customer service! read more

2/11/2015 I called ahead at 9:30AM for a haircut and was told that I should expect 10AM to be my time. After waiting 45 mins in the salon and asking the air-head hostess if she actually put me on the list I finally got my haircut at 11. Let me start off by saying that there is no one pickier with their hair than me. Everyone in my family has long hair and we struggle to find a stylest that understands that 2 inches means 2 inches, not 6. I went to this Super Cuts because of all of its reviews, and I was a little scared at 1st because my stylist seemed to have just have gotten out of bed (I went Sunday morning). I lasted about 15 min going over what I wanted, and excessively repeating to not cut my hair too short. This poor girl (Rocio) was so patient and she made sure to go over any parts of my hair she thought she may need to cut too much before even cutting it. I must say I am very pleased and I would recommend anyone to this Salon. They are cheap and good, and now a days thats hard to find! And I still have long hair! :-) read more
