I'm not sure what it is about salons and their ability to pull information out of you that you only share with your close friends, but it's simply magical. I was across the street getting breakfast with some friends and noticed this place and not having paid for a haircut for the last decade (there's more to the story and no I didn't have hair down to my ankles), I thought "what the hell??" I, of course, read the reviews and didn't see anything that should deter me from at least giving it a spin. I walk in and am greeted by someone cute that I imagine works there. She told me that my stylist would be with me momentarily. Shortly after, there was a family of three boys that came in with their dad and he was fed up with them and didn't care to not let them all know it. They were bratty, but it was pure entertainment for me watching him struggle. I was sadly called before I could get popcorn and prop my feet up for the rest of the shit show of brats, but nevertheless, it was time to chop this mane! I was very pleased with the much needed haircut I received. It doesn't take much for my hair as I don't have thick,bushy locks. My stylist, Dorian??? Was great. Needed a quality haircut and was dissatisfied with my last couple of places. Called this place expecting to need to make an appointment days out, but they were able to get me in the same day. Jesse A took me in and I barely had to explain to him what I needed. He instantly knew what I was looking for as my hair is a bit longer and needed some shape & style. The worst haircut I have ever received. I took two pictures with me, one for the cut, one for the bangs. I got neither. I kept asking her to do more, to try to match the picture, but finally realized that she simply wasn't capable of it. It was a *very* simple cut and one perfectly suited for my hair. I'm going to another salon to see if they can fix it, though they can't do anything about my bangs, which literally look like I got gum in them and had to cut a chunk of hair out. Or, as someone else put it, I look like a six-year-old took a hatchet to my bangs. Good thing my hair grows quickly. read more

I went to the new spot for a massage and was surprised to see they moved. I remember driving by the old location and though hmmm, gotta check that place out. Well, now its walking distance to my crib! I like the decor of the place and there will be plenty of parking. I enjoyed the massage very much and will have to go back again. I can't thank Todd enough, he was amazing and very attentive to my little one. My kiddo recently made a big decision to have her LONG hair cut to a long pixie. There was no convincing her of a longer cut she was ready to say goodbye to her Repunzel hair (whatever got her out of brushing & braiding of course) I immediately started searching for places that specialize in children's haircut because this cut was a big change (and close to school time) & we couldn't afford hating it afterwards. I called they had a walk in available so I booked it ASAP! Mom, Dad, & Grandma (who left breifly because she couldn't bare to see them cut her hair) were all there to witness the big cut. When I say everyone at Rocket Science was apart of the experience, I mean everyone clients & staff! Clients & staff were cheering her on with words of encouragement while they snipped her long braided pony. They washed her hair and made conversation with her making sure she knew that she made a brave decision & it looked fantastic. It took less time than I thought and the after was beautiful, the long pixie lays nicely & overall it was EXACTLY what my kiddo wanted! I want to thank the entire staff for being her moral support, she really needed it even though she's tough everyone needs someone to reassure them they made the right choice. I had an awesome experience at this hair salon! I was a walk-in and had no appointment. Went to this salon because mine is closed in Tuesdays. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed and told the wait would be 20 minutes. While I was waiting I was given a cup of got tea that hit the spot. I only had to wait about 5-10 minutes for Dorian to come get me! Dorian was a fantastic hair stylist and was super personable! She even ended up giving me recommendations for movies to watch based on our conversation! The hair wash, cut, and dry was relaxing and I had a great experience. The only thing I would complain about is that their prices aren't too visible as they are only viewable once you sit down for your cut by the mirrors. Overall it was a great experience! read more

I wanted to do a drastic cut and knew right off the bat that it needed to be at a trendy place that wouldn't give me an old memaw 'do. I saw that Rocket Science had moved to a new location even closer to me, and decided to give it a try. Lee Ann has been my stylist for several years and I love her. Lakewood is a little drive for me, but it's worth it. I've changed my hair color from blonde to reds and I get so many compliments on it. Nobody believes it's not natural. I've changed my cut many times as well. Always looks polished. Her consulting skills are awesome. I always come with photos of what I want and she is able to advise what will work with my hair and how we can accomplish what I want and what it will take to keep it up. The products the salon uses are organic which is important to me because I have sensitive skin and the less chemicals, the better. The shop also has a very chill vibe. I'll start off by saying I've been to a lot of different hair stylists over the past year and a half since my usual stylist moved to Austin. Heard about this place and was skeptical about getting my haircut again from past experiences with other salons. It's amazing to be when you tell other stylists not to cut something and the first thing they do is cut the on thing to tell them not to... Nightmares... When I set my appointment Todd was recommended to me. I figure I'm going to really watch him. He starts asking me questions about how I want my hair cut. I have been a long-time customer of RSS, and there's a number of reasons for that. It is comfortable being there because everyone is down-to-earth and friendly, not only to customers but also among the staff members. I also appreciate that they are interested in the community that they serve; for example, they have featured the work of local artists in the salon, and I have had the opportunity to buy a couple of pieces for my home. But then what about the haircuts? Absolutely perfect every time. Lee Ann is awesome and she is good at working me in to the schedule when I need a cut. I go to Rocket Science for hair cuts, Lea Ann, pedicures, Maeleska and brow shaping/coloring, Sara. They all do an excellent job. Lea Ann's hair cuts are right for my hair. She has great ideas of how to change the style and stay within my request for a hassle free cut of my curly/wavy hair. Maeleska does the best pedicures! Love colored toe nails and smooth heels! Sara shapes my brows in a natural arch. The color is never too dark or harsh. Just right for my coloring. My husband gets his pedicures and hair cut there as well. He is as pleased as I am.
