I have short hair that is a bit thin and it takes a certain level of talent to cut it so that it has texture, a bit of an edge and volume. He is also a gifted colorist. He highlights my dark hair to give it interest and dimension while retaining the overall dark look that I desire. I highly recommend that you try Dylan for any type of hair if you are looking for the last hairstylist that you will ever visit! Drove over an hour for my appointment only to be told that my stylist does not do men's hair. Wish that would have been explained to me long long ago when I made the appointment. There was no indication at the time of the booking that said stylist did not do men's hair. I even had to input my own pro nouns which signaled I was a man and the appointment was still accepted. Was offered somebody else at a later time but just didn't fit into my schedule. This of course is my experience and my experience only. But the entire site should be redesigned if certain stylists only accept certain genders. read more

Since this is a business that rents space to independent stylists the quality is inconsistent. The person who cut my hair was amazing but the person who did my extensions over processed them and they are now a total loss. I went to three (three!) extension specialists for a second opinion and they were all horrified. All three of them said that the extensions were a total loss. They also noted that the hair around my face had been fried off too. The person at salon 5014 either didn't notice or tried to gaslight me about the severity of the issue. I let them know all of this and instead of apologizing they just got mad and accused the other specialists of not knowing what they were talking about. I guess she's the only one in the entire city who knows about hair lingerie. There are so many great salons in Dallas that there's no need to take a chance with this one. I made an extremely expensive mistake and all I got was damaged hair and lies. Don't be like me. read more

After years of playing with the idea of getting extensions, I decided to go for it. My hair is curly at the crown and wavy underneath ,fine and thinner as I'm 50. My hair is fragile so I don't do any color lifting only color for gray hair and gloss. My biggest concerns were damaging my own hair and being able to match my natural hair as I don't want to have to blow dry every day. I have had Hair Lingerie extensions for 3 years now, both tape ins and sewn in wefts. My stylist Annie has permed all my sets to match my natural hair curl/wave. If you are on the fence don't be! I called the salon to inform them that I would likely be 15 minutes late due to traffic. They told me that due to their "policy" they'd likely not take me if I was 15 minutes or more late! I was a new client, never been here before and no one had told me of this ever. I have multiple confirmation emails where this is never mentioned. The staff at the front desk were super rude to me. I walked into the salon at 2:18 and you better believe they didn't take me. The front desk staff (Kelsey/Kacey something like that) had these smug looks on their face and just stared at me when I got there. The stylist said he could cut my hair but that was it as he had other clients after me. I had booked him for a full foil and haircut. Foils take 2 hours and a cut takes about 1. So not sure whom I was bumping from that schedule as I booked a large block of time. I've never been treated so poorly at a salon before. I have been going here on and off for a few years now. I have jumped around to different stylist and by far @colorbyemily and Lauren Morris are one of the worst most disrespectful stylists I have ever visited. I didn't appreciate their attitudes, outrages prices, and terrible work received. Emily does not have any prices posted and charged me $450 for a partial..??? I had extensions installed by Lauren Morris and you could immediately see them when my hair was down, and I couldn't even put my hair in a low ponytail without it popping through as well. I asked for this to be fixed or at least receive a refund, and I never heard back. As well as asking for a different haircut style I was told to "live with it" as she would not alter the cut for me. After I decided to take the extensions out with another stylist, I asked for the rest of the extension hair I purchased. Which she refused to give back to me in my first initial appointment. After multiple text exchanges of trying to acquire the left-over extensions hair, she lied, telling me there was "no extension hair left". A few days after the text exchanges there was magically hair waiting upfront for me to come pick up. They get their money and run!! read more

Didn't listen to me and said "I don't need to see the picture again" because I was going to show her the picture of inspiration since haircut was not at all what I asked for. When I got there I paid for parking in front of the establishment and said it was going to be validated but when I paid before leaving I asked about it and they told me I was supposed to validate it before paying? I would follow Crystal F to just about any salon in the Metroplex but I am so glad that she's at Salon 5014. I first started going to Crystal in 2014 when I decided to cut 13"+ from my hair into a medium length bob. She did such a good job then and every time since! I've decided to keep my hair short now that I've found Crystal but also know that she has a very happy clientele with long beautiful hair, too. Salon 5014 is conveniently located, kept very clean, has a great selection of hair styling products and provides free parking that's convenient. The parking alone is impressive considering the location on Knox/Henderson and the notoriously difficult parking situation in the neighborhood. Having been to the salon for a few years now, I don't find myself going anywhere else as long as Ashley Rydbeck is here! She's from SoCal and a master in blonding and extension. I have moved to Denver but every time I'm back in Dallas I make sure to see her. Not only is she super down to earth and make you feel listened to but she is also very upfront and honest person who take their art seriously. This post is long over due. I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Jennie! First off- gorgeous location, clean and stylish. The receptionist was really sweet. I trusted Jennie to chop about 8 inches into a blunt bob. She was fast, accurate, and it's obvious she loves what she does. I traveled all the way from Arlington just to get my hair done by Jennie. I cannot wait until this shelter in place let's up so I can have her cut my hair again. She is the best and really sweet. I can not recommend Jeremiah enough! He worked magic on my hair and hands down left me with my favorite cut and coloring I've ever had. I came in with some pictures and he exceeded my expectations, leaving with me the pictures of what I will show future stylists (unfortunately am moving out of state or I would absolutely be returning to Jeremiah). Additionally, he understood I wanted something that was bold but low maintenance and accomplished that by melting the balayage colors seamlessly with my natural hair color. I had an uncomfortable experience at Salon 5014. Upon check-in, I met my hairdresser who gave a less-than-satisfactory greeting, since she had stated she was ready to go home. We sat down to discuss what I'd wanted and I showed her multiple examples. (I also stated how important this cut was to me for context). When I got to her station, it was filled with the previous client's hair and dirty. This being my first time here, it gave off an unsanitary impression. As we proceeded to chat during the service, she hit me on the head with her comb, thinking it would be funny. Although it didn't come from bad intentions, I was shocked. When we got to my fringe, she asked me how short I wanted to cut it. I sat there contemplating and without letting me finish, she proceeded to cut before I had answered. From then on, I could not hide the unsatisfactory expression on my face. I sat there patient, to process the work that had been done. I believe she started to grow impatient with my silence and had a tone that frustratingly came out saying "I don't know what you want unless you say something." I ended up saying that I needed time to process the change because it wasn't what I was expecting. From there on, she barely did much to style my hair. A regular blowout, no product or anything, with bangs that she struggled to style. I am disappointed with the customer service and the service itself. I don't believe that the experience I had was upheld to Salon 5014's standards that they claim to strive for. Paying over $100 for an experience like that, I won't be back. I hope that the salon does better at training their employees on what it means to be a professional because what I had experienced was anything but. read more

I highly recommend Zoey! My previous hairstylist wasn't accomplishing what I wanted with my hair. My hair had no dimension, and my highlights were a mess. I came to see Zoey and I am so glad I did! She is so nice and knows just what your hair needs. Professional and to the point. She suggested low lights and I definitely had reservations. I trusted her and she did not disappoint. Made an appointment with CHI at 9am today. I showed up to have the front desk tell me she's running a little late. I sit and wait 5 minutes to have front desk tell me she's running more like 30 minutes late and if I would come back at 4. I told her I'd wait 30 minutes then she said well she has an appointment at 11 with someone else so she cant just do your hair when she gets here. I ended up leaving and won't ever come back because if you're a PROFESSIONAL, being "stuck" in traffic is NOT an excuse. If you know you had an appointment at 9 AM, you should of been SMART enough to leave way earlier and accounting for traffic. Now you've wasted MY TIME, with nothing to offer. I drove 40 minutes to get here and you want me to leave and come back because of your irresponsibility to take your job seriously. We have gotten to the point in our hair-relationship that if I want to change something up, I can simply describe the look I am wanting, and I can leave Ashley to adapt it to what is right for my root color and complexion. I trust her completely and every time I end up leaving saying "this is my new favorite blonde." Beyond her mastery of color, she makes your 3+ hours in the chair fly by with her engaging warm personality. This is one of her best attributes, because she always listens-- personal and otherwise. She will listen to what your hair goals are and educate you on how that can be achieved and explain other alternatives that will get you a similar look better suited for your hair. It took over two hours for Mihwa to cut and style my hair only for it to be neither the cut nor the style I was asking for. She only looked at my inspiration video for a couple seconds at the beginning so really I shouldn't have been surprised. In the end my cut was scraggly, uneven and the layers were choppy and poorly blended. To add insult to injury my hair was just "too hard" to blow out even after her two attempts. After I was clearly upset at the end of the service, no one at the salon did anything to make it right. Instead they lied and said another stylist could fix it the next day. They told me we could work out a discount on the additional service but I still had to pay the full amount for my botched service since the stylist who did it is independent. When I called to confirm the next day they acted like that was crazy and never would have been an option. Thanks for ruining my hair, wasting my time, and not having the decency to make it right. Would highly recommend going elsewhere if you expect to get the results you are asking for. read more

I was very disappointed with the highlights that I received from Amy. The top half of my head was foiled and the bottom half left untouched. When I asked if it could be fixed I was allowed to make another appointment. The morning of the redo appointment I received a text from the stylist saying she would not fix my hair. As a first timer today: Stylist was 30 minutes late Showed her inspo pics - her response "oh no, I don't do partials" Proceeded to tell me we weren't vibing. (I agree) lol. Ashley (and team) and Jennie are the best across the board - excellent service, outstanding quality of work, and I always feel like a beauty queen when I leave. I chose Ashley because her work is unmatched. She is professional, excellent at what she does, incredible attention to detail, truly goes above and beyond in all she does and she is a genuinely caring person. I have been getting color and extensions with her for 3 years and my hair has never been healthier or looked better. I came to her years ago as a bright blonde and she could have made way more money off of me staying platinum blonde but she guided me to go back to a more natural brunette and I've never loved my hair more. The extensions have helped my hair to get healthier and even my mom can't tell I have them because my hair looks like my natural hair but way WAY better. The color is always perfect. The extensions are always perfect. And it is way more low maintenance now for me which I love. Jennie is a magician at a hair cut so she keeps my shape perfect and ends healthy. Honestly sitting here as I'm waiting for my hair to process thinking WTF. This has been the WORST salon experience. First my original appointment was cancelled, I got another one scheduled almost 2 months later and on this one I was told they were running late by 30 mins. I ended up waiting an hour to come in. I felt rushed the entire time.. I'm a new client mind you so you would think extra time and care would be taken. Then I'm told there wouldn't be time for a blow dry or a style. I'm getting a new f@%king color on my hair at a new salon I've never been to... wouldn't you think the person wants to see it instead of leave with wet hair???
