I have never in my life written a yelp review before although, after todays visit here at super cuts I decided it would be the day I wrote my first yelp review. I called first thing in the morning as soon as they opened, I didn't catch the name of the nice lady who answered the phone but they booked me an appointment at 11:00a.m which was awesome considering they opened at 10a.m. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted so nicely by Catherine who ended up cutting my hair. She did such an amazing job, definitely did exactly what I asked for and left my hair feeling so light and free. She also helped recommend different treatments/products to help me maintain my hair on my own. Definitely will be a returning customer with Catherine again! read more

Went in with a picture of the cut I wanted. The lady that cut my hair (she didn't even bother to introduce herself) said "ok so some layers" and then asked how much I wanted cut off (about 2 inches) She didn't seem like she cared to be there. Barely any interaction. Sprayed my hair down with water, and used a comb, yanking at part of my hair fairly hard breaking a chunk off and throwing it on the floor. She spent all of 10 minutes cutting my hair. Because it's extra $ to blow dry and style she held a mirror up so I could see the back. There isn't much to see when your hair is semi wet. Went home to wash and dry it, and literally started crying. My hair has the choppiest layers I've ever seen. There is no flow or transition to them. Just chunky choppy layers. To make matters worse I start my new job on Wednesday. This is by far the worst haircut I've ever gotten. To the owner: While I appreciate your willingness to make it right. I could not go to work with my hair the way that it was. I was able to find a local salon that was kind enough to open up their salon to me on Sunday to fix my hair. At this point the best way to make it right would be a refund. Not only did I pay $28 for this terrible haircut at your establishment, but then had to pay more somewhere else to get it fixed. So I came here for a hair cut with a really good day going my way and this place murdered all of it. So I came in with a mens hairstyle where it is a high cut with long hair on the top. I wanted a good haircut before I left to go on vacation for memorial day. I waited my turn and the closer the bench seats were the more hair trimmers were by the first seat. I took a seat closer to the window and further from the door. The lady finally called me to the first chair. I looked at her table to find a location to put down my hat and sat down. She decided to move my hat to the bench and placed it on the hair that has been on the seats for god knows how long. I tell her that is exactly where I did not want my hair and she replies "what?" now the music isnt loud and the clippers arent being used as i am the only male in the shop and all the women getting hair cuts are being trimmed by scissors...its at this time I look at the womans credentials and Bernadette covered her last name in her cosmetologist license. I decide to talk to her after as I do not need a angry worker cutting my hair. Its at this point I SHOW how I want my hair cut with a picture and TELL her how I like my hair cut. She proceeds to say "what?" I repeat myself two more times as politely as possible. She finally understands and starts to pump up the barber chair...I am 5"8' and she pumps up the seat into the double digits like im a toddler. I tell myself how ever she gets comfortable to do her job i'll be okay. She then proceeds to douse me with the spray bottle! at RANDOM! now i had hat hair and my hair was going the correct direction for my hairstyle. she sprays me with water until i am now dripping onto the Barber cape and onto my shirt. I stay quiet as I am trying to stay positive as water will dry. So next I am expecting my haircut...then I feel the biggest and heaviest set of gel into my hair! now i mean thick application! A globule for a 80's hairstyle with slick back hair! And then she proceeds to give me a swirlie! a literally swirlie with the hair going into a spiral. Now I am asking her "why the gel?" and again I get a "what?" as a reply. I now skip over verbal communication and use to my hands to communicate with her with hand gestures. She then tells me to keep my long hair out of her way. She trims the sides of my head and then tells me to hold my mask as she does one side by my ear. She does the next side first and manages to somehow get small trimmings of my own hair into my mask...i honestly dont even know how she did it. I hit my threshold along time ago. I want to go home but shes not done. She asks me a few questions but I dont feel like hearing "what" as a reply. At the end of the haircut she now has to detangle my hair. Her first stroke YANKS on my hair. She realizes the gel has solidified...she hoses me again with the bottle until my shirt is now soaked behind my neck, at least the nylon cape is protecting the front of my shirt. She then combs my hair ripping and yanking she finally see's im uncomfortable and at the end she ask shows me the mirror and ask if I like it. I tell her the truth. It looks awful and I hated the whole experience. She finally didnt say "what". She goes to get her manager and Bernadette stays over her managers shoulder like I am the one in trouble. I state the whole experience as clearly as I am you from the very beginning to the end and show her the picture as referenced. The manager made basic apologies and gave me a number to call. I call the number and my phone dies through the monologue....I do not recommend coming here. especially if you get Bernadette! read more

After all the Ads on television and online i decided to get a haircut to see what the hype was about. Man there is a reason why they do not advertise it anymore. This location especially is really terrible. I could see the past reviews here and it's either a 5 STAR review or 1 STAR review. Let me tell you guys that this is not a hit or miss business. It's definitely a zip, zilch, and a zero place. I had the courtesy to call in before i dropped in for a haircut. I assumed that it would be busy on a weekend afternoon, but it was dead. It was just a boy and his grandfather waiting in line to get a haircut. I didn't think too much because i just wanted to get a haircut and leave. I was met with a stubby short round dude with white hair and a woman named sasha. They were looking at me like i was lost. I guess it was their first time to see an Asian go to a predominantly white salon. I could see them eyeing each other and not trying to laugh when they saw my hair. I know that there is a barbers stereotype that they are known to chewing gum and giving off a condescending vibe. Yeah check off those boxes. I wanted to go to a different place to get a haircut, but honestly i decided to go with it. In case they i changed my mind. To keep this review short and to the point. They didn't change my mind. My hair did get cut, but sides were uneven. I did not get the desired outcome and i can't believed i even tipped. Her demeanor completely changed when i did. I tipped her 5 dollars and then she suddenly tried to talk and give me a card for something if i come back i get a free haircut. Wow ads are really not what they seem. You really have to go and experience yourself. The people that are smiling on the television you know that they are getting paid to do so. These people do not smile, they will only smile if you tip them. Their prices are ridiculous and i will not recommend this location to anyone. I have what may be the best haircut I have ever had. Natalie was personable and professional. She asked questions, made sure she understood what I was wanting and made suggestions. Don't get the wrong idea. This wasn't a complicated haircut. I'm a 63 yo guy with fairly short hair where it still grows! I was so impressed with how my hair shaped up I was glad I had her trim my beard, too. It looks amazing. I don't know if all Supercut cosmetologists are incompetent but this has happened too many times to me. After I told the stylist I liked the length of my hair after she did the first trimming, she continued to cut more off leaving me with barely any hair to style after I told her my hair style is a comb over with a part. Now I look like a toddler. I might as well have cut my own hair if I was going to pay $25 for this mess. I left that salon with no volume in my hair and I didn't even leave feeling handsome. I love this Supercuts because we have found the perfect person "Sandra" to cut my husband and sons hair. Sandra has even cut and colored my hair. I love that you can make an appt. or walk in. This is easily found on a Main Street and has plenty of parking which is shared with other businesses. There is one gender neutral bathroom. The shop is generally clean and nice decor. The only reason this place gets one star is because Yelp won't post something with zero stars. The manager of this salon would be wise to double check the qualifications of the stylists he/she hired in this shop. I went in the shop for a simple razor cut. Not only did the stylist not give me the cut I requested. She argued with me that I "did not know what i was asking for", I felt so embarrassed ( and hairless) that I literally left the shop in a daze. Not sure about all of the grumbling on this stores reviews - I've been coming here since 1990 (22 years!), and had children/teens in tow until 2013 or so. They can often seat you immediately, everyone is friendly, shop is clean.... they handled a ridiculous cowlick of my youngest daughters for years (that took downright artistry), and get the cut right for me more often than not (even though I'm terrible at explaining). I suggest the whiners would be better served at a $300-500 salon... or perhaps an attitude readjustment, since the treatment and service one receives is frequently in direct proportion to what is given. read more

I came here today for the first time. I chose this Supercuts instead of the Supercuts in the Vons center in La Verne because the parking is awful in the Vons center. Much too congested. Unlike the Vons center, the parking situation at the Supercuts in Claremont is wonderful and there are plenty of places to park. I didn't have an appointment, walked right in and waited about three or four minutes. I guess the timing was perfect. Inez cut my hair. She was good and knew what she was doing. She told me she has worked at the Supercuts for 13 years so far. I like it when employees stick around for a while. Especially employees that know what they're doing. I stopped going to the Fantastic Sams in La Verne because I was tired of the hack job haircuts I always got there. Every time I went, they had new employees and were never the same. It seems they hire them fresh out of school so they have no experience yet. No thanks. You can practice haircutting on someone else's head! I will come back here to this Supercuts again. read more

I was very reluctant to come here, as I've had some horrible experiences at the supercuts in covina. But after reading the reviews below, I decided to give this place a try. I requested Jen from recommendation, and I was not disappointed! It cost me an extra $2 to reserve her, but it was very well worth it. Jen is a nice little Chinese lady who's been working there for about 18 years, and has tons of experience. As soon as she started clipping my hair, I knew something was different. She cuts with purpose, everything carefully calculated. She really knows what she's doing. I swear, I felt as if she was a maestro conducting a symphony with the orchestra that was my hair. She is very nice, and has great memory. She remembered both my name and the hairstyle i wanted by the second time I came. Now she always greets me with a smile and "the usual?" I can't speak for the rest of the hairdressers here, but the service is always great. 4 stars, since it is still a supercuts, not a luxury salon. I have to give credit where credit is due. When I posted the review below this morning I thought it was a moment of venting and that was the end of it. When I got a message from Supercuts showing concern about it I was very impressed. Any company willing to turn a negative into a positive is worth my going to again. So my hair is way long now. Why, you ask? Because I'll have to find time to go back to the Supercuts in Glendora that I use to go to when I lived there, because I won't go here, even though it's right down the street. I decided to try it out about 6 weeks ago, and as soon as I walked in the girl was like "Do you have an appointment"? I said no because I've never had to have one at the Glendora location, and the girl got super pissy and read me the riot act about getting an appointment. Then she was like "I'll do it this time". So she cut my hair quickly and was not very friendly at all, and told me 3 more times how I need an appointment next time. All the while no other customers came in. I was kind of like "WTF". As she finished and I paid (being reminded again that next time I need an appointment) another guy walked in. She asked if he had an appointment, and he said "No". Haha I was like "Good luck buddy" I don't mind that she said I needed an appointment, I get it, it might be a busy location. What I didn't like was the attitude I got about it, like giving them my business was putting them out of the way. My daughter went to this salon a month ago. She was looking for a "touch up" to her short hair cut. What she got was a butchering of her hair. It was shopped off completely. Instead of some hair left on top and really short around the sides, she had a shave job! She was embarrassed and upset. The stylist argued that this is what she requested. And, she still had to pay for the poor quality. She even paid a tip and left. I got the phone call with her crying. Her hair will grow back. For now she wears a cap most of the time as she looks like a cancer survivor or a boy (hair only)! I would not recommend this shop to anyone. No one apologized. read more

Went to this supercuts for the first time last night in need of a quick haircut. On my way back from my hectic Christmas shopping, I decided to stop. When I came in, two friendly employees greeted me and did the normal "let's set you up" deal, and I was instantly in the chair getting my haircut (given it was probably 7-8pm) Jessica, the lady who cut my hair did a phenomenal job, especially for a hair style that I've never really done before. Today (Labor Day), I thought I give this place another shot. Wish I hadn't. My daughter ask for a trim and long layers. Took her literally 5 mins. I could've saved $21 and done her hair myself (yes it was that bad). Also, what is with this place? Besides never getting what you want, one of the reasons I stopped coming here was because no one ever seems friendly. (with an exception of this one older lady, always smiling and she does a great job. I believe she's been there for a while). When I walked in the receptionist had this dirty look on her face, didn't greet us and the lady who had cut my daughters hair, was rude to her.
