So I took it to another shop, closer to my home, to get an estimate. That shop, which shall remain nameless, told me that not only did it need brake pads and new rotors (which I was figuring on, anyway) but the calipers were shot also and they needed to be replaced. They quoted the front brakes at close to $650, plus tax. They also told me that the rear brakes were at about 5% and needed some additional parts replaced as well, coming to an additional $550, plus tax. I couldn't afford that at the time, so I took their estimate and waited for a payday or two so I could afford to get at least the front brakes done. I was referred to JP Automotive by the folks at Virg's Brake & Suspension because they couldn't fit us in to their schedule and we needed the work done ASAP, and JP Automotive delivered big time. JP Automotive scheduled us for the following morning WITH A FREE LOANER CAR. When Mike called with to let me know what they found and what the actual cost would be - before they started the work, so I could approve before they stuck me with a bill - he told me that they really didn't need to replace the calipers, the ones that are on the car are just fine. So they saved me $250 or so that I didn't need to spend, and they got the work done and had our car back to us by noon that same day all for about $200 less than "that other place". Now that is what I call world class service! JP Automotive has earned a customer for life.

She recently brought her car in for an oil change and they brought up a few other items that she should take care of, one of them being her brakes. The CSR gave her a form that listed she needed pads, rotors, and calipers to the tune of +/- $1,800. Thankfully my son was with his grandma and the suggestion of calipers struck him as odd. I am a mechanic so they had me take a look at the information provided. The Burlington Automotives mechanic that did the inspection on her car did call out her brake pads(and a few other small service items), but did not call out rotors or calipers. I did a brake job on her car and, indeed, it only needed pads with the rotors being perfectly smooth and within spec. The calipers were also in great shape with the dust seals still attached, no cracks or anything like that. We went to talk with Louis, the Store Manager, and he first said that pads and rotors are often changed together and thought it was weird the mechanic didn't call out the rotors. I stated it was because the rotors are fine. I asked about calipers and he went into a story about them potentially seizing if there is wear, again, not called out by the mechanic and the dust seals are in great shape. He then said that the CSR was "new" which is a cop out. If the person is "new", they should have oversight and that still doesn't explain how the mechanic got it right and the CSR got it wrong. When I asked what thier policy is for the hand off of information, he said the CSR should take exactly what the mechanic says BUT rotors and pads go together because It can cause uneven wear, we also dont turn rotors, we just go new. It is a real shame because this sort of things gives all mechanics a bad name. To be clear, the actual mechanic's report was on point and I think he was a fine mechanic. The CSR and Store Manager, though, should be ashamed of themselves At the end of the day, they tried to screw an old lady out of a bunch of money. Louis barely apologized, trying to make every excuse he could to get out of admitting they wronged her. They didn't have her best interest in mind.... do they have yours?

The man who owns this shop Jeffery Collin's is a scammer and a full time thief ! He will lie with zero shame or guilt. I was on the hunt for a used vehicle and came across Jeffery on Facebook and he was selling a 03 Highlander (which I know are reliable vehicles normally). I set up a time to come test drive the vehicle and give it a look over. From the looks of things from what I could tell the vehicle was in decent shape. Then again, I am no mechanic and had no one I could bring with me to verify if the vehicle was mechanically okay. I had to trust this man Jeffery's word. I used every dime I received back from my tax return to purchase this vehicle and buy new tires for it. I explained to Jeff that I needed something reliable that was not going to cost any money for maintenance for a while because I am broke broke. He assured me this vehicle was his wife's and was meticulously cared for. The vehicle only had 159k on it. I opened up to him and stressed to him my financial state and explained my situation and why I needed to find a reliable vehicle and the importance of looking for a honest person to buy from. Long story short, this car is a lemon and he swindled me good (every time I trust anyone I get burned, EVERYtime). I have boughten not only all 4 new tires, I had to replace the water pump because I broke down, the catalytic converter needs to be replaced (is the newest issue) along with finding out that this vehicle had 215k miles on it back in 2015 (looked the vin up after all the problems I was having), put new brakes, rotors and calipers on the vehicle (he tried to tell me it didn't need them but YES it did). I tried to discuss the brakes needing to be done with him and he agreed to do them for me. I paid for the parts for the rear and his tweaker worker put it on for me. When I saved enough money to do the front and I gave him a call and told him I was ready to get the front brake set up done (parts cost out of my pocket). He told me he never agreed to that. I messaged him the messages between us where he stated he would do this for me. He blocked me. Now I'm not a racist person but boyyyyy he sure acts his color! He completely ripped me off. Now my kids and I are stuck without a vehicle and no money. I can't sell it because no one wants to buy it and I am completely screwed. I have no family or friends to lean on for support and or help me and my kids to get around and I am so furious and disappointed in myself for letting my guard down and trusting anyone (which is something I don't do normally, but I said I gotta trust someone sometime). I don't understand how anyone could do this to someone knowing their situation and completely and heartlessly take advantage of them. This guy is a REAL POS! Karma is a real thing and I know this man will eventually be humbled by life on life's terms eventually! Do not buy any vehicle from this person! From what I can tell looking in hindsight, he has some tweeker guy who pieces cars together for him from other scrap cars so he can sell them and make money by jacking people. He himself doesn't know sh!t about cars himself but the tweeker guy does and it's all about making something look just okay enough to sell and get over on people. Well, he definitely got over on me and my kids! Total effing LOSER!
