I had to fix a minor repair for my car grill, it only took 30 min and $50, I was very satisfied with the price and time it took.

Stopped there today for an oil change...quoted $39.95 by one of the techs. Time to pay...$55.19…read more The extra charges? An extra quart of oil, some $1 fee, an oil filter, and tax. The charge for an extra quart bothered me, but I can deal with that since me vehicle takes 6 quarts. They should know that and quote accordingly, but whatever... The one that really gets me tho is the oil filter. I'm there for a freaking oil/filter change, why is the filter not included in the quoted price? Ridiculous! I was about to return immediately with my wife's vehicle which also needs an oil/filter change, but you can bet your ass that I'll be heading elsewhere. Update: So I reviewed other oil change places on this island that I'm stuck on and they're pretty much all terrible. So I returned to this place because they were quick, did a good job, and vacuumed the vehicle. I also spoke to the tech about my charges. He stated that my vehicle has a canister oil filter which is an extra charge and that they do not charge extra for "normal" oil filters. I bumped them up to three stars from one. They should still notify customers of added charges in advance. Changing oil is their business, I'm sure they know which vehicles have a higher capacity or use "abnormal" oil filters.

Paul, regarding your response to my review…read more You said I was in the wrong place when I said your guy side hit my front wheel on the curb when backing up. You said you have been there 50 years and you don't have any curbs. So, I attached a copy so you can see your curb. You said you wanted to know who I was. That you couldn't find any invoices. Over the last 2 weeks I called and left my number numerous times and even sent you a note, but never got a call back. I had all my invoices to discuss. Read your responses to your x-customers. You are an angry man sir. You don't care what they think. But you lash out at them ensuring we won't come back and will share that opinion with others. Why in the world it took you 2 years to respond to my post is really awkward. You should be on top of it and try to bring those customers back. I have 5 vehicles I will not bring there again. Just an example. I suggest you retire and let your daughter run the business and respond to complaints. Stay off the computer and don't drag down your business anymore than you have. You will destroy what you built. I put my receipts away since you weren't really interested in discussing anything with me. I wish your daughter good luck fixing the damage you created.

In March 2023, I brought my Lexus RX 350 to this shop for a transmission fluid service. The…read moretechnician noted the presence of metal shavings in the pan on the invoice, and instead of following OEM specifications and using Toyota WS-compatible fluid, the shop installed Kendall VersaTrans CVT+. I later reviewed the product specifications and contacted Kendall's own technical support team directly. Their team confirmed that while VersaTrans CVT+ may be used where Toyota WS is specified, their *recommended* product for WS applications is Kendall VersaTrans LV ATF, not CVT+. Their data sheet confirms this. When I brought this to the shop's attention, attaching official data sheets, Kendall's response email, and compatibility concerns, they refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. Their responses were consistently short, dismissive, and unprofessional. I received multiple replies with no greeting, no name, and no attempt to address the core issue. Instead of discussing solutions (which I offered several times, including a fluid replacement or partial refund), they repeatedly deflected and eventually stopped engaging altogether. Despite the shop stating in their own records that metal shavings were present, a clear indication of wear, they opted to use a non-recommended fluid. Over the next 2.5 years, the vehicle accumulated only ~9,200 miles, but the transmission continued to degrade, likely accelerated by the mismatch in fluid. This review is not based on emotion. I've provided documentation, OEM specifications, and direct confirmation from the fluid manufacturer. The shop's refusal to admit a mistake or even engage in a basic conversation about resolution speaks volumes about their customer service standards and technical judgment. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone seeking careful, OEM-spec service or professional accountability. If something goes wrong, don't expect them to help, or even call you by name.

I recently brought my pickup to BOR to have my catalytic converters replaced. My check engine light…read morekept popping up for that issue. The staff at BOR were very receptive and responsive to my needs and arranged to replace my converters. Unfortunately, after all their hard work my check engine light came back. It turns out that when BOR discussed my repair options I opted for the cheap route and asked them to buy aftermarket converters. When I came back they found an exhaust leak and fixed that, and the light came back a second time I relented and asked them to get OEM converters. The OEM converters fixed the problem and my pickup is running great again! I have nothing but praise for how BOR worked with me, accommodated all my choices, and bent over backwards to help me get my truck working.

Better Off-Road? More Like Better Off Somewhere Else…read more I brought my 2002 Suburban Z71 to Better Off-Road with a clear, detailed diagnostic summary--11 specific issues, complete with history, symptoms, and codes. I gave them every benefit of the doubt. What I got in return was a $10,000 engine replacement estimate and a lazy guess. After eight full days of silence, they finally looked at the truck and performed a basic compression test. They found low readings on two cylinders and immediately recommended a full engine swap. No leak-down test. No spark plug inspection. No timing verification. Just a vague shrug and a five-figure solution. Here's the kicker: * They performed the wrong test first * Then charged again to do the right one * That's double billing for diagnostic failure A leak-down test is the industry standard when compression is low--it tells you why it's low. They didn't perform one until I hounded them. That's not oversight. That's negligence. When I finally arranged a tow to get it out of there on October 22, they refused to release the vehicle until I paid. Fair enough--but their phones were "offline for two days," yet their voicemail worked. Convenient. Then they charged me a 3% fee for using a Visa card. That's not standard. That's gouging. The technician who texted me couldn't write a coherent sentence. His diagnosis read like a fifth-grade book report. I wouldn't trust this shop to change a bicycle tire, let alone diagnose a complex engine issue. Bottom line: * They ignored a detailed diagnostic roadmap * They charged for incomplete diagnostics * They double-billed for doing it right * They stalled communication for eight days * They misrepresented fees * They showed zero professionalism I paid the bill because I honor my commitments. But they didn't honor theirs. I'll never go back--and I hope no one else does either. --David W. Klieman
