In late August, I made an appointment for an eye exam and new reading glasses. I wear contact lenses and only wear my glasses in the mornings and evenings indoors. I tried on several frames after my appointment and ended up splurging on "flex-on" frames, since my last pair broke easily at the bridge and I wanted a durable frame.
I was told these would be ready in 7-10 business days. After 2 weeks went by, I called to check on the status of the glasses, and after being transferred from someone who had no idea what was going on, I finally reached someone who told me one of the lenses had been damaged and had to be returned to the lab. No one ever called to tell me this; I had to find out by calling myself after 2 weeks of radio silence.
2 more weeks went by, and I called again, only to be told, after a full month of waiting, that the glasses were "still in the lab" and would be ready "later this week". This past Saturday, finally, someone finally picked up the phone to call me and told me they were ready.
Today, I went to pick up the frames, and was shocked to see the cashier pull out what appeared to be sunglasses. When I told her this was not what I ordered, she insisted it was, and explained that they were "transition" lenses, and that they would become sunglasses when I go outside. When I pointed out that the glasses were visibly dark and appeared to be sunglasses, she insisted that the dark lenses I was looking at were not really dark.
At no point during the time I tried on frames were "transition" lenses ever discussed with me. First, if I'm only wearing the glasses at home, which was made very clear to both the doctor and cashier after my appointment, why would I ever need sunglasses indoors? There is no way I would ever have any interest in transition lenses for any reason, and again, not one single word was said to me about them when I tried them on. Not a single word about lenses that "transition" to sunglasses, because if there had been, I would NEVER have ordered what they are claiming I ordered.
This would be at best a mistake (on the part of the store), and at worst a deception (which I believe it was), and would and should result in either a full refund or other attempt to rectify the problem. When I asked for a refund, I was REFUSED. Repeatedly.
I was either deceived into ordering something I didn't need and didn't want, or the people working here are so incompetent that they mistakenly ordered something very specific that the customer never asked for or wanted.
I will be escalating this and pursuing it as high as I can, and I *WILL* be filing a dispute with the credit card company for a full refund.
Super Vision are either completely inept and so bad at their jobs that something like this could happen, or they are deliberately trying to trick customers to sell more expensive products. I waited 5+ weeks to pick up something that was never discussed with me and which I now firmly believe I was deceived into purchasing. read more
