What an amazing, much needed experience. I came here based on reviews and asked for someone a bunch…read moreof reviews mentioned, but they were unavailable. I was a walk in and didn't have time to wait. I instead got Saline, who was AMAZING. She truly listened to everything I told her, made her presence known throughout the massage but not too much, so I was able to fully relax. I cannot say enough good things about this massage. The space itself was cramped and no frills and some of the pressure is on fellow GUESTS to keep their voices down (please keep this in mind!) but it has everything. The space felt clean and cozy. I went for a 1.5 hour massage which felt like a splurge because it was longer than I normally do, but their prices were so reasonable and I had just come off a very long work week that it felt needed. The massage was so incredibly relaxing and left me in a little bit of pain in a good way. I knew Saline had found a lot of my deep knots, so there was no way for it to be without pain, but every fit of it was so worth it. It was so relaxing and I left feeling 100x better than when I came in. It was a little hard to find because it's on a small strip mall, but now that I know where it is I won't miss it. Highly recommend this spot!

I stumbled in here trying to get a last minute massage as I was passing through Chinatown…read more At 4:30pm on a Friday it was pretty open. I got their 40 minute foot massage & body massage combo for $40. I enjoyed the foot massage where it put me to sleep. I think I could've done without the body massage. But for the last minute availability and low cost I think I'll be back.

The message was great! But the customer service isn't so much so…read more There were two ladies who did ask if what service we wanted. We asked for foot massage for us both .. they stood a few feet away and spoke in a different language for two minutes.. after saying we don't understand and we're standing right here; they finally told us one at a time ($20 / 30min massage) - my guess is only two workers and a client was already being worked on. We picked me since my partner has a scheduled massage at "the now" this week. The lady who worked on my feet was fast to get it started and a little light on the verbal cues to tell me "sit here"/ "feet up" / "sit back" .. etc - but what she did do, was lift my feet up, put them in bucket , dry them off and prop them up & push my head back onto the pillow She put the right amount of the pressure on my feet , full 30 minutes, very relaxing (even though I'm in the lobby getting my massage & someone came in to ask if they were busy) .. she was thorough and the towels were clean. I will be going back soon

Deeply Disappointing and Racist Experience…read more Today, my niece, my friend, and I spent the afternoon in Chinatown. We stopped by Tianxiang to see the Chinese doctor for some herbs, grabbed a few plants, and enjoyed some slippery shrimp from Yangzhou. Afterward, my friend--who's been under a lot of stress--suggested we get massages. We found JJ's Massage and decided to give it a try. Before going, we called to ask if they took credit cards since many similar places only take cash. They said yes. When we arrived, we were greeted politely and taken to our rooms--my niece and I shared one, and my friend was in another. But here's where everything went wrong. After we had disrobed and were lying down, the lady came back and asked me to pay. I was confused because, at every other massage establishment I've been to, payment is handled before or after, never while you're half undressed. She insisted, so I had to turn on my flashlight in the dark room, find my card, and hand it over. Then, while I was still disrobed, a man entered the room asking if the card should be charged for two people or three. This was extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. If this was supposedly their policy, it should have been explained before we undressed--not after. I couldn't relax for the rest of the massage. I know for a fact that their standard policy isn't to demand payment mid-session. I truly believe the only reason they did this was because we were Black. Afterward, when I shared my concern, the man denied any wrongdoing and claimed it was "the policy for everyone." Then he pulled out a handwritten note that said "20% tip mandatory." I had already planned to tip, but the attempt to pressure and assume that we wouldn't was insulting. Even my niece, who is younger, asked me afterward, "Are these people racist?"--and I had to tell her yes. As an educator of over 20 years, I teach students of all backgrounds equally, and I cannot stand to see discrimination modeled in front of a young person who looks up to me. This experience left us disappointed, uncomfortable, and hurt. My friend later told me she also wanted to leave mid-massage but stayed because she thought I wanted to stay. None of us enjoyed it. If you're in Chinatown looking to relax after exploring, skip this place. Save your money, your peace, and your dignity. To the owner: Please remember to treat people the way you'd want to be treated--and the way you'd want your children to be treated. Discrimination is never okay.

Unfortunately it was one of my worst ones! The store next door was playing loud music when they finally turned it down, an obnoxious lady kept talking and laughing as if they were playing with each other! The masseuse, Leo, enabled her by engaging in the conversation until I finally had to shush them. They continued to whisper loud even after. Leo turned the massage music louder. I asked for a deep tissue and asked 4x to make the pressure harder. Most of massage, I felt like I was paying her to tickle me instead of getting a professional massage for $70. I cut it short by 20 min just to get out if there! I eventually went to my professional massage place in Alhambra just to feel relaxed. What a waste of time and money!!
