This was my favorite local pet shop that sold Lucy's pet salmon treats and my dogs' usual dog food. Also was good place to get feeders for exotic animals too for like snakes and lizards. Truly bummed they are closing the end of this month... Had good memories here coming here with friend picking up her dog from the groomers, walking my dog around the store, emergency pet supply runs, and looking at the exotic animals they sold. I'll miss their big sales they'd have twice a year also. read more

Many a times I go into a pet store and there are little or nothing for exotics, but I'm glad to say that is not the case for Super Pets, not only do they have supplies for exotics here but you can get an exotic little buddy here for yourself and they are responsible as well. As in you cannot purchase a reptile or handle one unless you are 18 years or older. WE LOVE TO SEE IT. Other than that they have a WIDE variety of goods and brands if you have more "common" furry friends aka dogs and cats. And when they have sales, like when I went for, Black Friday, the sales were for an entire week afterwards and their store hours are for an entire 2 hours after normal hours. It was also 20% what I believe is the entire store AND some other deals as well. Good stuff! Staff was also friendly and helpful. I think they also have dog grooming and either a boarding or training area. If I'm ever in need of extra UVB lights, I'll check them out! read more

My grandsons love coming here for all our fish and supplies for our pond. Even though we only get feeder gold fish, they are excited for each occasion. Besides fish, this store has birds, reptiles, guinea pigs and amphibians. This location is very easy to find. They have a small parking lot, but plenty of street parking around. The staff greets you as soon as you walk through the door. They cater to all sorts of animals. Your typical cat, dog, and bird products. They also have an aquatic area for fish and other reptiles. I believe I once saw some bunnies and hamsters in the front area. I love their anniversary sale!! If our cats weren't so high maintenance and picky, the cat food selections are plentiful. My husband went for their sale and came back and found 3 dented cans. We came back the same weekend and asked for an exchange and they happily obliged. I asked if they carried a specific brand of dry food because they were put of it on the floor. They can do rain checks. What rain checks are is you get 20% off if you pre-order the item right there at the time of inquiring. I didnt know that. They will ask for a contact number and give you a rough estimate of when the item will become available. There is also a program where if you buy 10 of the same brand of dry food, you get one free. I think its cool, but purchasing 10 bags at roughly $46-60 each, just to get one free is like a 10% discount. It was hard to hear the staff because her voice was muffled and the ambiant sound was loud. Overall, we love this small shop and are frequent shoppers. read more

DO NOT SHOP at Temple City Super Pet Store. From the moment I walked in, the place didn't feel well maintained. The place looked neglected and the fish tanks , several of them were cloudy, which immediately made me question how well the fish are being cared for. What made the visit worse was the customer service. The staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful. If you're running a pet store, you'd expect employees to at least show some enthusiasm about helping customers. That is why no one shop there. The prices were also ridiculously high compared to other pet stores in the area, which would maybe make sense if the quality and service were great--but that definitely wasn't the case here. Overall, the store left a pretty bad impression. Between the lack of helpful service and the poor condition of the store, I wouldn't feel comfortable buying anything here. I'll definitely be going to other stores instead. In order for me to leave a review i had to give it one star review but this store should close, Dont Shop there !! read more

Sunday night I went to super pets in Temple City to get my feeder animals for the animals I bought from them. When I went to the area where you pick them up the the employee was helping someone so I asked if there was anyone else working and he said no so I waited. There are few people waiting behind me too. When he was done instead of helping me he helped the person behind me, and she said it was my turn and so he came to help me but he didn't want to. I asked for 30 large crickets and he told me they were out and only had small so I said fine give me the small ones because I had to feed the animals. I also asked for a large white mouse which I have been buying for the last year. When I went to the counter to pay I realized that they charged me more for my mouse which is the same one I've been buying even last week so I asked and they said no that's a jumbo mouse so I said no give me my mouse that I normally buy so he went back and got me this tiny one half the size which is what not what I bought last week. I also noticed when I returned to the counter does it gentleman before me had large crickets. So now this is obvious that he's been treating me wrong and lied to me about the crickets. He purposely charge me more for a mouse I've been buying for a year. I am completely disgusted with what happened because we've been going for years and not been treated like this being lied to. I asked the lady what was his name and she refused to tell me which means she was also defending his actions. I go to this pet store and bought pets from them and now feeding them weekly and instead of treating me like a customer was lied to and mistreated. Be careful when you go and they tell you they are out. They are not try truthful, rude and charging what they want. read more

I love Super Pets. My visits are always pleasant. The staff is always kind and easy to approach when I'm in store. The have a wide variety of pet items. We visit for our senior dog and crested gecko. The amount of reptile items blow the bigger pet stores out of the water. You can find a big assortment of what you need here. I absolutely love their reptile section. Another point I would like to make is there customer service over the phone is amazing. I called to ask if they had dubia roaches, which they do. However the person (I forgot his name) asked would I be tong feeding my gecko, I didn't think about that since she only eats crickets. He said that dubia roaches end up burrowing into the substrate and she will not be able to get to them. That information was much needed! I would've just bought them and released them into the tank and called it a day! Thank you so much for being such a great pet store! Will be there for those tongs and roaches! read more

Love this pet shop - better than the big box chains. They carry everything you need that you can find that PetsMart and Petco anyways. Gotta support the local businesses amirite. The store has a good feel and vibe to it, as opposed to the box chains (although there are people who work at those that are awesome as well.) My experience here has always been great, always easy to find things and the associates are all super helpful (friendly too). When my dog lost his appetite I was going here once every day trying to find treats that he would eat and I want to praise their selection of high-quality dog treats. Today got here for some goods, when I about to pay, I saw they got some Duck Weeds on their tank and ask if I can buy some (normally other store sell them with super low price or give you tons of it for free.) I've gotten similar fish at other smaller local fish stores that have lived longer. They have a five day warranty with receipt. Sometimes I do see quite a lot of dead fish in the tanks. My aunt took our dog here on Tuesday to get groomed with John. My aunt came back to super pets to pick up her dog and all she saw was a bloody mess. John or super pets sent her dog to the ER to get stitched up. All that happened was she got a call from the ER to pick up her dog. No apology was given or check up call from Super Pets or from the manager/general manager. Called in to the store to talk to Irvin the general manager all he said was we paid for the dogs medical expenses and that was it. Since moving to Alhambra, I've been coming to this place for my beardie's superworms needs. They are a little pricey since they charge $12.99 for 100 pcs of superworms. I didn't mind until I realized that the jar that's supposed to be 100pcs doesn't really contain 100pcs of mealworms. I did my due diligence of logging how many worms I feed my beardie since I ordered from them. It turns out, I only have 70pcs of worms. That's 30pcs deficit meaning I paid almost $4 for something my beardie wasn't even able to eat. Not sure how they package their worms but they should at least check. It is such a rip off paying for $12.99 per can only to find 70pcs in it. read more

I go to the store pretty often, the staff is usually really cool though some are a little lazy or maybe don't wanna be there, which I get. Everyone has their off days. But I question the care for the feeders. The crickets, roaches and mice seem fine but the horn worms I've seem them leave to die way too many times now. That is still a living being guys, if ours get too big before we get a chance to feed them to something, we let them go on some plants to eat and turn into moths, not die in a bin. Super pet? More like a knock off version of petco or PetSmart. Selection s are limited on everything thing. The store is also empty and void of customer during my visit. Fish selection is extremely terrible. For example, flame dwarf gourami has a super pale red color instead of striking red color seen in any local fish store. There aquarium water conditions look so bad. Reptiles .... Fare a bit better but they are all lethargic looking. Petco selection of reptiles actually has more life in them..... I don't have dogs , cats, birds, or mammals pet so can't comment on their quality. But, given the quality of fish and reptile sections ... zero shit was probably given to the care of the animals . Avoid this store. If you must buy fish here, quarantines them before adding to your tank. read more
