Always slow service, very dirty restaurant. Somehow we decided to give them one more chance, what a mistake. We walk in the door and there is a lady behind the counter, no customers in line, and a few people seated. The lady behind the counter makes sure not to make eye contact and starts wiping trays. We stood there for a moment talking, I liked the special on the board. No hello, no eye contact still. We start talking about going to another local restaurant, loud enough for her to hear us. She still continues wiping trays and never making any contact with two customers waiting at the counter, we walk out. Still no greeting or sign that we even exist. I really wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for good authentic Mexican food. It lacks in flavor, way too over priced. Not very customer friendly. And their speakers from which they call their orders are way too loud. I couldn't get in more than two bite without jumping every 3 minutes or so because their speakers are so loud! Went through the drive through for the first time ever tonight and I'm sorely disappointed. Not only did the worker that helping us seem to hate her job and made it too obvious to us as customers - I asked for something six carne asada tacos, those were fine however they should specify what comes on them. They come with both guacamole (which I don't like) AND salsa (which my boyfriend doesn't like) - Mexican style tacos typically come with neither. Not what we were expecting. I also order two chicken tacos, which were a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STYLE OF TACO WITH NO SPECIFICATION. They were a hard taco shell (again no specification - and I HATE hard taco shells) and are topped with lettuce and cheese. I don't think we will be going back which is disappointing because it's one of the very few places open late/24 hours a day in the area. The only good thing? Since moving up to the Pacific NW I've noticed a trend among many Mexican restaurants in this region. Too many of the proprietors of NW area Mexican restaurants ASSUME (you know what happens when you do that!) that you're a local and you probably wouldn't know decent Mexican food (at least even the Americanized versions) if it jumped off the plate and bit you on your plump and tender bottom.... Among these ASSumers is Super Oscar's in the quaint little tourist trap town of Newport, Oregon. I'm born and raised in SoCal and I know the good stuff. (If you want great tamales, rice and beans, go to Fiesta Latina in Everett !) but for now, we're talking about the bad stuff.... I ordered the beef burrito and chicken enchilada combo plate. I'll start off with the burrito.... Two, huge soft flour prepackaged tortillas, heated to a soft and gummy mess by one of those tortilla steamers that a lot of places use. Tortillas are in actuality a type of bread, yes? When you toast a piece of bread, you do so in order to bring out a more desirable flavor and consistency that the bread did not have to begin with, so DRY HEAT works best. Would you put a piece of store bought white bread in a steamer so it gets all mushy and gummy? No, you wouldn't, so why do so many restaurants do this with their tortillas? It turns them into a nasty mess. The beef burrito filling turned out to be tough, salty meat a bit more tender than beef jerky, sitting in a thin, almost briny 'sauce' of soggy veggies combined with a broth-like substance. Deplorable and just about damn inedible. The chicken enchilada was slightly better tasting but churned my gut something awful later on (my companion also had a combo plate but not with the chicken enchi. Fortunately for her she escaped the latter effects I suffered from this meal). The seasonings were a little better and the red sauce used was better tasting than whatever they cook the beef burrito fillings in. The rice and beans were served on the cool side and were edible, but only just. If you want decent Mexican food and do not want a bad case of the before-bed squitters, give this place a pass, Senor! Your gut will thank you! read more

This place looks closed but they are open for a drive-thru. We saw big line of car waiting and we decided to follow those car. It was worth waiting. We had tortas with steak and chicken. I'm not quite sure how this place got past four stars. I had read previous yelp reviews before trying it. So I had a small idea of what I was walking into. The service at the drive thru was quick. The girl that took our order was very nice. My boyfriend and I both got the same thing. The taco and cheese enchilada plate. Beans were a little bland. I still digged them though. Rice was a tad dry too. But hey we all have different preferences when it comes to Mexican food. The sauce on the enchilada was the only thing I liked. It was on the salty side. On something else it might have been better but on the enchilada it was too much. I didn't eat the taco. The beef was too tough and not appealing flavor wise. My boyfriend got a chicken taco. He said the meat was very fatty. He couldn't finish it. I wish I hadn't spent the money I did on this meal. You live and learn though. I'm sure there's a gem somewhere on the menu. If you are seeking a high-end Mexican restaurant experience is not the place for you. If you are seeking a quick cheap lunch or dinner then you should be reasonably happy. My husband and I stopped here while visiting the coast. We ordered an Oregon burrito and a chicken burrito. They're a bit small for the price. We ordered a large water and they gave us a small. They also said they couldn't give me a cup of hot water (we were going to use it to make a bottle for the baby) because they don't have hot water. First time at this joint today. Just rolled into town and needed something quick and easy to eat. Nothing says that better than a Mexican restaurant. I had the tacos al pastor. They were GREAT. Lots of meat, sauce, guac and doubled up on the corn tortillas. I really couldn't have asked for something better considering the state that I'm in. Oregon isn't really known for their Mexican food. Cinco de Mayo...Their restaurant appeared on my Facebook feed and the meals looked appetizing. I drove an hour from Florence to treat myself to a Mexican meal. I chose a simple cheese enchilada combo plate and took it home, anticipating the great meal on the drive home. What a major disappointment!! The enchiladas were greasy and bland, as were the rice and beans. Zero flavor! Rosarito beans are 10 times tastier. I would have done better driving through Taco Bell! I've been here several times in the past few months. I get the Super burrito with different meat each time so I can try them out. It's always been great. The burritos are huge and totally stuffed with great fillings. On my last visit, 2 days ago, I was really shocked to see the price of the Super burrito had gone up by $2.50. It was $10, which was a fair price, now it's $12.50. Who does this? I get it if you up the price by .50 or .75 cents, but $2.50!!!??? I got my burrito anyway of course. I unwrapped it and I was really disappointed in it. It had way less filling than it normally does, and the tortilla was different, not as good. It also wasn't grilled like it normally is. I didn't really enjoy the taste, it wasn't near as good as usual. I spent the next 24 hours with some pretty bad indigestion and upset stomach, and had to make several trips to the restroom if you catch my drift. This place does not have very good mexican food. It is similar to muchas gracias, just some place where one would go if they were drunk. The tacos were soggy and the meat was bland. The menu says $3.25 per taco, but I was charged $25.44 for 6 tacos. When I asked about the price she just ignored the odd number that they arrived at. I had the 5 rolled tacos special and a carna asada giant burrito, and my wife ordered the carnitas chimichanga special. I couldn't believe how much meat my giant burrito had in it! There was no beans or rice filler at all, just meat, cheese, guacamole, and pico. My wife's chimichanga was the same way, all meat no filler! The carna asada and the carnitas were spiced perfectly, and very delicious and juicy. My 5 rolled tacos were very good as well, crunchy, delicious, and drenched in guacamole, cheese and lettuce. They definitely don't skimp on portions here! I couldn't believe how much delicious food we got for the price. We've spent more at Taco Bell and got a lot less!
