Coming in around 3:00pm as a party of two, we had to wait around awkwardly for someone to come out and seat us. The lady that seated us was completely dismissive and didn't seem particularly excited to see us. We were given the wrong drinks, and the ones we were given were watered down and flat. When we got our food and sat down to eat, my friend noticed a fly cooked into her chicken (pictured below). This is disgusting and unacceptable, but the worst part is that when my friend confronted the man working there (maybe a manager?) he seemed irritated and simply told us to leave. I was flabbergasted that we were essentially hushed and pushed out the door for pointing out the obvious carelessness in their food preparation. Overall terrible service, unwelcoming and cold atmostphere, and dubious food quality made this an unforgettable dining experience for all the wrong reasons. This place is dirty, the host and waitresses don't give a damn, and the food is well below par. The floor is slick from not being degreased completely, the food sits in the buffet way too long and the sauces get gloppy or turn to rubber in the case of anything sweet and sour. This was the go to place when I worked in or near Spring Hill and the family loved going also. It was honestly the best Chinese buffet in Tennessee. My daughter and her friend went there a week ago and she came in telling us that it wasn't good. My wife and I just brushed it off as maybe they were having a bad day and stopped in last night. The food was visually different. It wasn't good anymore but costed more. And I know the struggles with having lil ones but the workers had their small children there playing in the restaurant and by the food. Well I was a bit hesitant about trying this restaurant because of the negative reviews. I decided to try it anyways since most of the reviews are from years ago. After reading the reviews I paid attention to comments and eyeballed everything. First, we were greeted with a smiling hostess. Secondly, the floors were in good clean condition ( no carpet with holes). I went into the restroom and found it was clean as well. The time of day was Sunday afternoon around 6:pm. (3hrs before closing) and there was plenty of food out. Basically everything that I had read about was no longer an issue. It is not an upscale restaurant but it is a good place to eat. Ate there today. They advertise crab legs on the buffet,but do a poor job of putting them out. We watched our waiter go to the table across from us,where there were a family of Chinese people and talking to them in Chinese,they all got up and proceeded to the buffet table as crab legs were being brought from the kitchen. They filled their plates,leaving none for anyone else and never brought anymore out for the other guests. Very racist in our opinion. Upon entry to establishment you think you're standing at the hostess stand, but you're not ... it's off to the right ....I asked about the their prices since it's not posted anywhere... children & adults. There were a few Eye Sores.... the leather couch where you wait to be seated was ripped & toys on it. & the carpet was filthy with strains . Our server seemed bothered while taking our drink orders, wasn't too friendly. They had a wonderful tasty food selection & the counters were clean, very impressive. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I just ate there and loved it. The selection was great, the food was fantastic, and the prices were a bargain for how much I ate. This place is kind of dirty and I am writing this review cause last time I went it was very bad. All the food I had was cold and nasty. Tasted like they just used food from a few days ago. Those of you that have complained about the decor of the Super China Buffet and specifically the stained and hole ridden carpet clearly are incapable of appreciating the authentic feel the establishment brings resembling post communist China. The sushi was superb even though going so late in the day they only had 6 pieces of it out. It was rice heavy and the pastel green wasabi tells you that it was freshly ground. The highlight of the entire restaurant would be the chicken nuggets that I did not sample but I am sure the several toddlers that belong to the workers running around the place enjoyed. I was so very disappointed by this buffet. While we arrived pretty late (7:30 on a Tuesday), we were still there an hour and a half before they closed. I tried a little of everything, but was completely let down. All of the food was luke warm and anything breaded was hard to chew. The chicken kabobs were dry, the 'sushi' was just cucumbers with seaweed and rice, and the beef tasted... off. The service didn't redeem the food, either. We waited a few moments to be seated only because we didn't discover there was a hostess stand until we went to the "wrong" counter. It would have been easier to identify the hostess stand had there been an actual hostess. We didn't even sit down before the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. Five minutes later we came back with our food and our drinks weren't there. They arrived eventually and getting a refill only happened after asking and waiting another five minutes. Considering the size of the restaurant and the lack of patrons, it really shouldn't have taken so long. The waitress seemed overzealous to take our plates before they were empty, as if she knew the food wasn't really worth eating. Over $25 for two people to eat stale leftovers from a dinner rush with less than average service? My business is in the same shopping center with the china buffet and so we have tried them numerous times, The food IS decent, plenty of variety, tasty. The service, however.....ugh. So this evening I placed an online order at about 3pm. Got my email confirmation. Waited till about 3:45 because they are usually a little slow. Get there to find that my order is not ready because they "don't do online orders anymore" Ummmm, what? Then turn it off so people can't order! So, I wait, get my food. Charged $20.28 for one shrimp lo mein and 2 cans of soda. Lo mein is listed online as $7.65 for a large. So, a can of coke must be $6.32??? Wow. Questioned the little girl checking me out, who may have been about 9 years old or so, and all she can do is shrug her shoulders. Never again. read more
