The food is so good! Hot, fresh and the restaurant smells like an amazing charbroiled chicken grill. This place is the real deal. It's very authentic. Feels like I'm transported to South America or Mexico. A lot of the lunch time customers are hispanic or latin construction workers. They know good food! I love seeing the construction workers because I feel like they know authentic hispanic food. I order the half chicken, with fried plantains and vegetables. Comes to about $12. I skip a drink. Great spot! The food is good. The food is seasoned well and the chicken is sooo juicy and tender. The atmosphere is nice, clean, up to date and kid /family friendly. It's spacious and tidy. Que rico! There have been several Peruvian chicken restaurants popping up in the DMV area so I was excited to try Super Chicken right in the Tyson's Corner area. It was yummy!! I got the 1/4 white meat with plaintains (+$0.75) and yuca and my taste buds were very happy. The rub on the chicken was so flavorful and the meat was juicy. The yuca was very addicting! It had a nice crunch on the outside and was chewy on the inside. I've had yuca where they were overcooked and too starchy but these were perfect. Overall, you get a lot of food and it is not too pricey. The restaurant is very large and clean and somewhat packed during the lunch rush but the line moves fast. read more

The menu is straight-forward and so are the people. You want good quality food fast, and these people will give you exactly that. I was so excited to come here since it's right across the street from work and we have no good peruvian chicken within many miles, but I was still a bit skeptical. What were the odds that I could find peruvian chicken anywhere close to Super Pollo (Arlington) way out in the Tysons area? Well apparently the odds were in my favor as Super Chicken is just plain awesome! I was hesitant at first to go all the way to 5 stars after one visit, but the more I ate and thought about it, the more it hit me that this was some exceptional food. I even starting considering whether or not this was better than my beloved Super Pollo, and while it will take a few more visits to fully determine, my initial thought is that Super Chicken is right up there! For $8.50 after tax I got a half chicken and two heaping sides. Choice of sides range from from yucca, fries, cole slaw, chicken soup, salad, pasta salad, rice, fried rice, beans, chickpeas, and mashed potatoes (I think there are even more but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head). Unlike Super Pollo where nearly every side save fries or plain rice and beans has a $1 upcharge, Super Chicken only charges a premium for plantains, and even then I think it's something like 25 cents. A really really good deal for all that good food. Qualitywise, the chicken is OUTSTANDING. Loaded with spices and flavor, juicy as can, and delicious crispy skin that just breaks off as soon as you touch it. Even the white meat is juicy! For sides I stuck with some basic rice and chickpeas which were fine, but not as euphorically trance-inducing as the chicken. Next time I need to try the fried rice and plantains as those are my favorite sides at Super Pollo, to see how they compare. If you work within a 15 minute drive to the west of Tysons route 7 area, you must come here to check it out. This is destination worthy chicken and may turn out to eliminate my need to drive into Arlington to get my fix. read more

First time here and omg I'm a fan! The chicken is very juicy and tender, and the price is good. They do have a lot of sides, and while I'm very picky with my cole slaw, theirs is good. The fried rice also surprised me - it has chicken and spring onions in it! That's a nice bonus. YES! I have finally found the PERFECT Peruvian chicken spot for someone like me - and maybe perfect for many others who share my tastes! After proffering several 3-star reviews in search of a better pollo place among the dizzying number of offerings in the area, I finally hit up Super Chicken. Man, the chicken was fresh fresh FRESH! In fact, when we arrived, they were gearing up for the dinner rush, and they were "out" of chicken - except for that wasn't a bad thing; they were loading up all of the rotisseries with fresh chickens for the roastin', and it meant that our wait for food was a few minutes longer, but it was totally worth it. My main kudos are for the following: - you see your food plated and prepared right in front of you; sides are clearly displayed - far less perceived sodium factor than other Peruvian/rostisserie chicken experiences I've had; no pounding a gallon of water or waking up with salt sweats later on... -the fried yucca is legit and quite delicious; stays crispy and super satisfying - the restaurant is bright, surfaces are clean, parking is easy, and shopping center access is very easy as long as you're traveling east bound on Hwy 7; might be trickier from west bound due to metro construction And, my favorite thing? - THE SALAD!!! Okay, people, picture the freshest white/dark pollo a la brasa, over mixed greens (NOT iceberg), avocado, beans, corn, and (if you want it) cheese and vinaigrette dressing. I can't get enough of these Peruvian chicken joints! Although I must say, this particular one is probably my favorite. Yes, the lines can get a little crazy at times - especially during lunch, but the chicken is always consistently juicy, tender, and absolutely flavored to perfection. Also, I like that they offer steamed veggies and corn as "healthier" side options. The yucca, plantains, chickpeas, fries and slaw are amazing, but having the option to go healthy is a huge plus for me. If you aren't feeling chickeny, they also have burritos, wraps, salads, and quesadilla. Being Peruvian, they also have saltados too. Easy to find parking - it's located in a strip mall. I thought to myself, let me check out this place to see what the Yelp buzz is all about. I've eaten here a handful of times since relocating to the area in April. Somewhat of a picky eater with a sensitive tummy, very rarely do places score high with me. This place delivers! The chicken is VERY tasty and moist. The sides can be hit or miss, so I stick with the plantains and they're yummy. I always feel healthier after eating here for some reason. Never that bloated too-full feeling afterwards. Servings are generous. They give you so much food, leftovers are pretty much a guarantee. Service has been quick during my multiple visits. I have been to 24 different Peruvian chicken places in Northern Virginia and Maryland and Super Chicken is hands-down, no questions asked, the very best one. Their tortillas are fantastic, but they do not have them every day. If the line is too crazy, you can always skip it by ordering a burrito or taco salad instead of the traditional quarters of chicken and wait at a table. A HUGE perk is that they now deliver in Tyson's. If you don't know what to stink your office up with for lunch, this is probably your most potent bet ;). When a group of us orders Super Chicken, everyone on the floor comes to see what it is because it smells heavenly. This is a great place for groups. I was pessimistic at first because... I mean what good chicken place calls themselves "Super Chicken". But I am so glad I tried it. By the looks of it, their chicken seems like it would be too salty and very dry. However, it really surprised me. The flavor was perfect and the chicken was so tender and delicious. I loved it! Unfortunately, the sides weren't as great. The plantains were too oily for my taste, the yucca fries were cooked a little too long so they were a dry on the inside, and they forgot to give us the fried rice! Delicious go-to Saturday lunch haunt - the tasty chicken is reliably divine, hot, fresh and juicy. Portions are generous; it works out great for me to share the half chicken, which comes with two sides, although the sides - which are served out from a steamer table - can be hit or miss in terms of quality or freshness. I typically opt for the steak fries, fried plantains or side salad - the rest (e.g. rice, mixed vegetables) can be somewhat inconsistent, served lukewarm or even cold. Yet I'm willing to overlook this because everything else (service, cleanliness, casual layout) aligns. Obviously, the real star is the chicken which, when dipped into either or both of the two sauces, renders all else a moot point. The chicken noodle soup (assuming they're using stock and meat/bones from their chicken) is a surprising sleeper and a must-try during flu season. Service is usually friendly, especially if you know what to order, and the prices can't be beat. I have gone twice and ordered vegetarian selections and both times they have put meat in my orders. I ordered a veggie burrito with no guacamole today and opened the burrito to find it packed with meat. I would not recommend going here if you plan to order anything that deviates from how it comes on the menu as they can't seem to handle something that complex and I especially don't recommend going if you have any type of dietary restriction. Never had Peruvian chicken before but wow is it good! The chicken here is really juicy and flavorful and I liked using the sauces they give you with the chicken. Super Chicken is superb. The restaurant is clean, bright, and spacious, with a bit of a modern sleek farmhouse feel, thanks to the roof trellis structure in the middle of the restaurant. A bit unexpected from a Peruvian chicken place, but it's a nice touch. When I went, they had a special for 1/2 chicken - dark meat with 2 sides for $8.99. Such a great deal, especially since 1/4 chicken (dark meat) with 2 sides was under $7. Between my boyfriend and I, we tried 3 different sides: steamed veggies, plantains, and tomato cucumber salad. Warning for cilantro haters like myself: the tomato cucumber salad is covered in it, blehh! The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. The spices used were amazing and you can totally be satisfied eating the chicken without the sauces, but I'd also recommend the green sauce. It will be tough to leave hungry. The Bad: -Food isn't fresh. I was very disheartened when I walked up to the counter and saw that all the sides were sitting under heat lamps like a buffet. This serving style had an effect on the food like I mentioned above. Even if other restaurants have prepared food ready to serve, at least you don't see it in most. Overall the restaurant is meh, I was disappointed considering it had a higher average rating from other yelpers. Super Chicken is super awesome. I can't tell you how excited I am that there's a new lunch option in the area. Having worked in the Tysons area for quite some time now, there's only so many Chipotle burrito bowls, McCormick corn chowders and Perfect Pita pitas I can take. If you pop in for a visit and there's a short line, fret not! It moves pretty quickly. Seating is first come, first served so if you're here on your lunch break, best to beat the rush or come afterwards. You also have to bus your own table (duh) so don't be surprised if there are a few lingering trays if you come post-lunchtime. Offerings at SC are relatively predictable (1/4 or 1/2 dark/ white meat and all) and the choices for sides are plentiful. For example, you can get plaintains, yuca, steak cut fries, fried rice (...sure, why not), white rice and mashed potatoes with gravy, just to name a few. Best of all, any combination you get, will be pretty easy on your wallet. If you still think you'd be hungry after all that meat and carb-deliciousness, they have alfajores! The verdict is, the alfajores are tasty. Word of warning: Super Chicken is best visited using the Buddy System, as you'll probably fall into a deep food coma and will someone to help walk you out of there, Weekend At Bernie's-style. read more

Wow. I was surprised to find good and CHEAP, non-chain grub anywhere near Tyson's Corner. Super Chicken is awesome! They definitely serve some of the best non-fried chicken I've ever had. Upon entering Super Chicken, one immediately notices the giant flame roaster behind the counter with over 15 juicy-looking chickens spinning around the flame. I knew I was in for a treat. You can order 1/4, 1/2, or a whole chicken. All chicken meals comes with two sides. I'd never had Peruvian chicken so I ordered the 1/2 chicken with black beans and yucca fries ($8.25, a steal for TC). I guess the spices and flame broiling makes it Peruvian. Whatever it is, I can attest to how delicious their chicken is. The skin, the white meat, the dark meat, its all so tender and yummy! And the portions are huge! Super Chicken also offers burritos and other beef and chicken dishes, but trust me and go with the chicken meals. They literally pull a chicken out of the roaster and chop it up to order. The restaurant itself is fast casual, in that you order and then take your food and seat yourself. The place is also very clean! I feel like this food would normally be served at some hole-in-the-wall, but the place is very neat and welcoming. The staff are friendly and work diligently, but there can be language issues (they don't seem to speak English well). I am happy that I am moving from Tyson's Corner soon, but this is definitely one of the few places in the area I will miss. I came here for the first time for lunch today. First of all, if you're not familiar with the area, this restaurant is very easy to miss. It's near the Jimmy Johns on the back side. When I walked in around noon, the line was to the back door and wrapping. It was also very hot inside the restaurant. Fortunately, the line moved fast. When I got to the counter, I ordered the lunch special which is 1/2 dark meat with two sides. I'm glad I went with the 1/2 chicken because a good bit of it was bone and skin. I feel like I was able to get enough chicken with this size portion though. It had great flavor and it was tender. The lunch special also came with 2 sides. I got the yucca and spinach. The spinach is very similar to what you would get at an Indian restaurant. Both sides were very tasty! Best of all, the price was very reasonable. My lunch special was 8 dollars and some odd cents with tax. I will definitely come back for lunch some time! I'll just be sure to come earlier so I avoid the lunch crowd. read more

You order at the counter, then you're handed a number at checkout. You find a seat at the many booths and tables. Friendly server came with our food and made a wholesome joke I didn't quite catch. The portions are huge, guys. The chicken was very tender and the sauce they used to slather it with the potatoes was seriously yummy. Even the rice was moist and chewy!!! I went with my colleague today to Super Chicken on Leesburg. I've been there before, and have never been wowed by them. The chicken was undercooked, and soggy. I did not like it. The fries were stale, and the rice with chicken was hard and very low quality as if it had been sitting in the warmer for a while and the chicken they used was from old chicken they didn't sell. I went during busy lunch hour around 12:30PM and waited 10 minutes in line, I had high expectations of the food being fresh given that the place was busy. Overall, I've had better and might not go back considering I spent $10 on a quarter white with a 16oz drink. read more

There are so many sides to choose from here that it's really hard to settle on two! I've tried yucca, rice, and chick peas, all of which were so flavorful.
