I sample my wife's meatloaf open face sandwich and if given the option I'll take the meatloaf over the roast beef. Today I got an iced latte with marshmallow. Their marshmallow flavoring is closer to a toasted marshmallow and I think it compliments the espresso well. I usually get a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant. But today went out of my typical order and got their special Breakfast tacos! And I loveddd them! The pancakes were soft, I enjoyed the mix of sausage bits and pepperoni bits, the eggs were scrambled. A counter stretches the length of the front windows with tall stools and plenty of charging stations for electronics. The dining room also has eight tables that each seat four customers. My wife and I met some friends at E.A.T. for the first time recently. It's a nicely decorated cafe, plenty of parking lot spaces available. We were able to easily get a table for 5. We all placed our orders, which were brought quickly. I ordered the chicken & waffles special, while my wife ordered the country biscuit dish. The chicken & waffles was said to have a hot honey maple syrup, but there was no heat to the syrup at all. The chicken was chicken tenders, which was fine, but they did not have a very good texture - they were somewhat rubbery and full of tendon. My wife enjoyed her biscuits, but her, and the rest of the table, agreed that their home fries were undercooked and grainy. We also tried their Lucky Charms special latte, which was good. Prices were decent, employees were mostly friendly. Not sure it's a place we would go out of our way to give another try.

The scrambled eggs were properly cracked from the shell, not from a bucket. The sausage patty was made with a mild breakfast sausage, hand formed from loose sausage. Home fries were cooked on the grill with enough peppers and onions to qualify as a serving of vegetables. (My wife approved.) If that is not old school enough for you, the rye toast was grilled, not toasted. Service was great, and the coffee cup never was empty. The parking lot in back is small, so if you have a large vehicle do yourself a favor and park across the street. We went on a Sunday morning. The place was full, but tables turned over quickly enough that we didn't wait. One nice touch, the bowls for creamers and jam were Syracuse China. You have to love a diner that is home town proud. The pancakes were fluffy, the steak was cooked to our liking, the home fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside.
