One of the best benefits of Yelp when traveling is getting a peek at where the locals go. The place was bustling, all seats taken, people standing waiting on their order, and others dashing in for their carry out orders. There's good reason for that, the food, the coffee, the service, the vibe was all excellent. Inside is clean, simply decorated, and everything from the food to the kitchen is visible. It's simply part of the decor. We purchased some bagels from the previous day, some breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The coffee was bold, rich and fresh. The bagels delicious, all of the sandwich parts cooked to perfection. There's a friendly, warm vibe inside that extends from the staff and is entrenched in the food and coffee. Just a fantastic place for bagels and, I have to admit, NY bagels are next level. If you're in Syracuse, I highly recommend you make sure you make Water Street Bagel one of your stops.

I asked to sub the bacon for egg, and it was just a "no bacon" modifier and then add egg for extra, which I thought it would be a substitution :( It was good, I thought it would be warmer it was wrapped in aluminum foil but it was pretty cold. Definitely could use more salt. Idk overall a little underwhelming but I would definitely come back to this place to try something else Service was great as always, they were really busy so we had to wait outside

Owner Tony Daddabbo, an Auburn native, honed his bagel-making skills in New York City at the popular "Columbia Bagel" just a few blocks from Columbia University. Daddabbo said the key to making an authentic New York City-style bagel is to keep it simple and fresh, using five simple ingredients: Water, yeast barley malt, syrup, salt and flour. Wife and I recently stopped into Auburn Bagel company to grab a quick bite before running some chores. It was around 1030AM on a Sunday, and there were already plenty of customers dining or ordering. We looked at the menu and my wife decided on a Bagel Weck sandwich on pumpernickel - roast beef, creamy horseradish and a side of aus jus for dipping, while I chose a chicken parm sandwich on a garlic bagel. The line to order moved quickly, employees were friendly, and our food was made relatively quickly, and we enjoyed our food - my only complaint was my bagel was a bit too toasted and crispy for my liking, but that's all preference and there was nothing wrong with the sandwich itself. We did think it was a tad pricey (over $12 for each for a bagel sandwich), but they were a decent size and were filling. We'd definitely return.
