However, last week I ordered takeout, and was so pleasantly surprised that I felt like I needed to update my review. My bagels came to me warm and straight from the oven, and were delightfully fluffy. There was a smiley face drawn onto my takeout bag. Honestly, little touches like that just made my whole day. These are definitely New York City bagels, though they are smaller in size than what I am used to from New York City. They have a slight sweetness to them and a moist interior. Walked in at 11:30 on a Thursday, you could already see loads of to go orders ready to go, only a couple people in the shop. The staff was a bit overwhelmed you could tell, but they were still extremely friendly. The inside was nice a quiet with a few tables to sit at. Parking was right outside the doors in a parking lot, so it was easy to get in and out of. I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich called Al' Wich, it was delicious. I was worried coming at 11:30, the bagels might already be getting hard, it was the total opposite! The bagel was toasted on the outside but still so soft in the inside. Do not be afraid of coming here later in the day and getting hard bagels! I ordered cold brew coffee and was given the choice of a sip top lid or straw lid, loved that I could choose. I went this morning for the first time with some friends and it is safe to say i will 100% be going back!! It is super cute inside with a large selection of bagels, toppings and spreads, but i ordered a bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel! Was running errands in east Syracuse when I decided to get breakfast. Found this place and figured I would give it a shot. Place is small but there are some tables and chairs. The people working were very nice and efficient. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on an onion bagel and then I got 2 onion, 2 garlic, and 2 plain bagels to go with veggie cream cheese. I really appreciated that the girl taking my order asked if it was okay for all the bagels to go in the same bag as some bagels can simple not go in the same bag. Starting with the sandwich. It was good but the bacon was pretty fatty and not crispy which I know is a preference thing but I had to take it off. As far as the bagels they have been good so far but the veggie cream cheese takes like mayo. I love veggie cream cheese and have had it a lot of places but this one was just not good. This is one of my favorite bagel places in cuse. The staff is so friendly- I even witnessed them learning sign language from a deaf customer today. They have a huge variety of yummy bagels you can try (I attached a picture for your future planning:)). My go-to is a sausage egg and cheese on a garlic bagel and it has never disappointed! They offer local sausage for $1 extra along with a variety of beverages to satisfy whatever breakfast cravings you have. This place is truly a local gem. Yes, it was 20 minutes till closing on New Year's Eve and I received the most endearing and courteous attention from a young woman and a young man that day. I've been needing - Yes, craving a decent bagel for three years now, and I know it would be unfair to compare any bagel shop to down state - but wowza!!! They delivered! Especially if you lightly toast them, the crispy crust brought tears to my eyes. I am so excited to get my monthly treat haul from now on from Dewitt Bagel Co ! My husband and I are big bagel lovers! They get their bagels imported from NYC and this bagel was AMAZING! I got The Critz on an everything bagel. Had eggs, sausage, cheddar cheese, and maple syrup. The service was great and they were very quick and decently priced. They also serve Recess coffee. The only reason I gave this a 4 star is the seating. It's very small inside and doesn't have that much seating. I'm also not a fan of the location, very limited parking. But the food and service are amazing! read more

We've eaten here a few times and had different experiences but loved the bagels each time. Once was during SU family weekend and it was PACKED. But they were efficiently pumping out the orders and we still managed to score a seat. Limited seating but every time we've gone we've managed to sit down to eat if we wanted. And the bagels are GREAT. We are picky about our bagels and these are fantastic. They are the closest thing to a true NYC bagel you're going to find around here. The coffee is good. The lox spread was delicious. Everyone in our party was happy to impressed each time and we've had orders that included bagel sandwiches, bagels with lox spread, cream cheese or just toasted with butter. Best Gluten Free bagel ever. I was in shock how good it was. Before going gluten free, I grew up on delicious, chewy, NYC bagels. This gluten free bagel somehow delivers on this!! Of course its not exactly the same--but the closest I believe I'll find! (Note: there is cross contamination. This is not safe for celiac, but fine for my gluten sensitivity.) The regular bagels also had that chewy NYC texture. The vibe inside is really cute--only a couple tables but still. Parking can be a bit tricky with the lot being so small. There once was a place called the Dewitt Bagelry that was next door to the All Night Egg Plant's original location in the plaza where Dosa Grill is now. The Egg Plant has never been the same and the Bagelry closed long ago and I've missed it every since. No more! The Dewitt Bagel Co is a fantastic replacement! In the same little plaza as the Dark Horse, they serve up some tasty NYC style bagels! I got a sesame with cream cheese this morning and brought home a half dozen plain for later in the week. The plain ones were fresh out of the oven, as in, she got the pan out of the oven to fill my order. It took all my willpower to not grab one out of the bagel to munch on as I drove home. They are sitting on the counter now and they still smell great! I saw someone commented the bagels are small. Maybe they got one on a bad day as these are the same size that you'd get any bagel stand in NYC. Next time I will try a bagel sandwich, they looked tasty too with local bacon, fresh ingredients with those lovely oven fresh bagels. It wasn't crowded when I was there but they had alot of online orderes waiting so probably best to order ahead if you want a sammie. read more

The new owner Dawn has single handedly ruined this business that was an amazing establishment. Since her ownership she has fired employees for ZERO reasons via text STATING "Thank you for being willing to work with me but I am letting you go!", while the rest quit immediately due to her abusive behaviors towards them and her blatant disrespect to the customers. Dawn has replaced the well established quality ingredients (local included) for a much more processed and lower quality. The butter that was used for a bagel that I bought a week ago was completely rancid and needed to be remade without butter. She uses her UNGLOVED hand to reach into the food containers and touches the customers food with said hand. read more

This is a bagelry that is an expansion of the Caz Bagel Co. They purchase half made bagels from a baker in the Bronx which means they are real bagels. The shop does not possess the same aroma as a true bagel shop, but the end result is the best bagel around our area with Bruegers a close second. Any other bagel is fake which includes Wegman's and Panera. The shop is immaculately clean and the service is excellent although a bit slow. The bottom line is the bagel. If the bagel is good, that is all that matters, and the Caz/DeWitt Bagel Co meets the goal of producing an excellent product. Read my review of the Caz Bagel Co for more info. The only drawback is the recess Coffee they serve; not a fan although many folks like Recess Coffee, I don't. It's too Starbucks. Please buy a bagel or a dozen to take home every week. Very covid friendly set up. I got sausage egg and cheddar on a salt bagel. It was amazing and I will come again (tomorrow). I have a nut allergy and I told them about it and the wipes down the counters and they said if they ever use peanut butter or walnut cream cheese they put down a paper. When I called ahead of time they even were able to tell me no one ordered either of them earlier that day so there shouldn't be any contamination. My gf got a turkey provolone lettuce Mayo and garlic aioli on an Asiago bagel. She loved it! The garlic aioli is amazing. And so are their bagels. read more
