I also didn't realize they offer so much more than baked goods. Beyond their bread and pastries, they have sandwich options, soup, and pre-packaged pasta/sauce. Pasta's Daily Bread is a neat little joint. Unassuming from the outside, it's very cozy and almost castle-like inside. I think the door is what gave me this impression! If you've been to Pastabilities, you might have the idea that this spot would be pricey. I found that it was less expensive than I expected. I got a sandwich and a slice of pizza (looked DELICIOUS but I didn't get to try) for about $14. Not too bad! I went with the sandwich of the day. It was a chicken salad with pecans and cranberries - very wintry and Christmas-y! I really enjoyed the chicken salad. It was served on the classic Pasta's stretch bread. Pasta's daily bread is the perfect add on to Pastabilities and so excited I tried this out! It's a small little room with no seating options so it's the perfect spot for a quick lunch "pick me up". Working in Franklin Square, this is the perfect stop for lunch as they have ready to go sandwiches and pastries. They always have a "Sandwich of the day" for something fun and different but they always have classics like ham, turkey, mozzarella, etc. They also have a case filled with pastries that always looks so delicious! Raisin pecan, asiago, gorgonzola, olive as well as a few varieties of rolls. They sell pizza squares and homemade pasta, sauces and spicy tomato oil. Plan ahead, get there right at opening, and plan for a later dinner. My favorite is the carbonara, the duck pizza, or the baked manicotti (get it with hot vodka sauce). We came to SYR a couple weeks ago for my husband's first vaccine dose, and people in Rochester had recommended we stop by Pastabilities to get bread and hot tomato oil. At the time, we didn't realize they were referencing the restaurant's bakery across the street -- so just in case you find yourself in the same situation, I hope this is a helpful tip. The bakery has IMPECCABLE COVID protocols in-place -- only 2 customers allowed in at a time, plexiglass everywhere, touch-free payment, masked staff, sanitizer. We got 2 loaves of focaccia -- one with rosemary & sea salt, and one with kalamata olives. And THANK YOU to the person who rec'd we also leave with a jar of the hot tomato oil. IT IS SO TASTY!!! As is the BREAD! Just heavenly!!! Silver lining to the 2-dose vaccine process -- we'll just HAVE to return to Daily Bread when we come back for Dose 2!!! Stopped by for the stretch Italian bread and a container of their hot tomato oil. Huge loaf of bread is $3.50 and $6.99 for the tomato oil - which a little goes a long way. The bread is great warmed up with a little butter, their tomato oil or some dipping olive oil. We also love it grilled with some garlic olive oil. We got a super thick, tasty chocolate chip cookie which was lovely heated up slightly and a chocolate caramel macaroon with slightly crispy outer texture - it was lovely. This bakery location is directly across the street from Pastabilities, their restaurant - where you must go. Easily able to park at parking garage just down street. This location also has some great flavored focaccias, pastas, their homemade pasta sauces and other bread varieties daily. read more

The best chocolate chip cookie ever!!!! I feel whatever chocolate chip cookies I have had in the past weren't cookies at all. I doubt I will ever like any other chocolate chip cookie. This is the kind of bakery I would own. Its a very small space across the street from Pastabilities on Franklin half a block south of W Fayette. They don't have a huge variety of bread to choose from, but the italian stretch bread that is the staple of their selection, is quality. Its a little pricey, about $1.50 more than you'd pay for a basic italian loaf at Wegmans but the nice thing about Pasta's stretch bread is that it doesn't get stale as quickly as Wegmans. This is a little bread shop located in downtown syracuse New York. They bake there own bread right in front of you in this shop. It is a local owned business. I tried the Gorgonzola onion bread. It was amazing I toasted it put a little butter on it. Between the cheese and butter on the crusty tasty bread it was like a little piece of heaven. I also had the stretch bread which we dipped into there signature hot oil sauce. The signature hot oil sauce is a mixture of garlic oil and spicy tomato sauce... It is delicious.
