Other companies also responded, but I went with them because of their outstanding 5 star rating. They promptly messaged me back and I scheduled an estimator to come look at our house for the next week. Communication was good, through Yelp messages and also after I gave them my number, they texted me updates. The estimator came and we received the quote the next day through email. We were happy with it so our appointment was for the following week. The workers came and got the job done in about an hour. We received the invoice through email and I paid by sending in a check to avoid the credit card fee to the credit card company. It would've been a $22 fee. It might not sound like a lot, but I avoid unnecessary fees if I can. All in all, a very smooth and professional experience and I am happy with the repairs as there are more storms headed our way during this hurricane season. Thank you!

But when Kale offered to do the job at a very reasonable price, I went for it. Boy was I surprised at the results. The panels looked as if they were just installed on the roof, so shiny and clean. I also had them clean out my gutters, in preparation for the rainy season. I had no idea I actually had a garden growing in my gutters. They serviced all of the gutters clearing them of all debris, washing them clean. I wholeheartedly recommend KB Ohana as the one to call for solar and gutter cleaning. Very nice people and reasonable price.

Installing bird proofing to prevent them from coming back. Despite this, the pigeons were still on my roof afterward. Because my home is two-story and my spouse and I are both over 60, we are not physically capable of climbing onto the roof to check whether the work was done properly. We relied entirely on the company's honesty and professionalism. On October 29, 2025, I texted the owner, Kale, to let him know the pigeons were still present and asked if he could come by to check the bird proofing. I even offered to pay for the visit. On November 4, 2025, Kale came out, went up on the roof, and checked his work. He told me he found one area that was not secured and said he had made the necessary repairs. Afterward, he sent me an invoice for $150 covering: inspection & labor bird spikes additional bird proofing wire a minimum travel fee I refused to pay for the inspection & labor, bird spikes, and additional proofing wire because I strongly believe those materials and proper installation should have been included in the original $2,000 job. I only paid him $50 for his travel. Unfortunately, the pigeons are still there. On June 5, 2026, I hired a different company to inspect the bird proofing because the problem continued. They recorded videos of KB Ohana's bird proofing and found two unsecured gaps that were still allowing pigeons to nest under my panels. I shared those videos with Kale at his request. When presented with the video and given a chance to respond, the owner stopped communicating altogether. On June 10, 2026, I followed up with Kale asking for a response to my concerns and my request. I have not received any reply from Kale or anyone at KB Ohana since then. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend KB Ohana. I feel I paid a premium price for work that was not done thoroughly and for follow-up service and communication that were completely inadequate.

I don't know a lot about gutters, but Sonny does…read more I had new gutters installed a few years ago by another company. They lasted a year or less before they started leaking. Same company came out to quote a gutter cleaning/repair and the guy just said "they used too much caulk". We both knew replacing that caulk would last about as long as the first time. Cost almost as much, too . So for a couple years when it rained, we got more wet from the waterfalls coming off our gutters than we would have from the rain. Called Sonny, hoping maybe a pro could repair or reinstall all the leaking corners/joints. He suggested replacement would be a much better option, but was kind enough to talk me through and quote both options. Seemed pretty clear this was one of those things where if the material failed, maybe could fix that, but to correct wrong installation, pretty much gotta install correctly. (my problems weren't even just the corners - pretty much all the connection points...) And they did. And couldn't be happier. Hasn't been a year so not a fair comparison, but I'm telling you, there's no comparison. Rain we got from Lala was a pretty good test and Adonai's gutters (and install!) passed with flying colors. (On top of everything, Sonny's crew re-worked a downspout and part of the existing slope on the fly b/c it was a better way to do it. Seriously, six stars for these guys.)

I wish I could give 20 stars in this review!…read more My situation was that I had asked some carpenters I know to install french doors and build an 8'x8' deck at my art studio on my home property. That crew did finally install my french doors, but after delays and more excuses than I care to note, I decided to cut them loose and find someone else to build my deck. I searched Yelp and found Kekoa Builders on Sunday, and based on all the positive Yelp reviews, I decided to call and leave a message, but Kekoa answered the phone AND he stopped by my home the same day to take a look at my project details - on a SUNDAY! It is now TUESDAY, 2 days later, and my beautiful Trex deck is finished. I already had all the materials so that was helpful for a quick build. Kekoa's communication was great and he and his crew showed up when promised and worked until the job was done. They were respectful of my property and the pricing was reasonable, especially given the high quality of this work. I am in the construction industry and let me tell you - these guys are the best! They worked together well as a team, you can tell they enjoy working together. They are onsite problem solvers. One example is that they had to carefully trim the Trex deck board due to wonky uneven dimensions where it meets the french doors threshold and they finished it off beautifully! And - did you notice my recessed umbrella holder in the photos? It is SO custom. They knocked this deck out in one day, cleaned up the site of debris and were so wonderful to work with. This was phase 1 and I am planning an additional deck and connecting boardwalk later this year. Kekoa Builders will be the only crew I ask to complete my project. I have complete trust in them and their work.

I can't speak to the quality of their roofing work because I would never hire a company that shows…read morethis little consideration for homeowners. I have a clearly visible sign on my front door asking solicitors not to leave flyers. Their representative actually read the sign, then proceeded to leave a flyer anyway. My doorbell camera clearly captured the interaction, so there's really no excuse for it. On another occasion, someone associated with the company parked directly in front of my driveway and mailbox. My son went outside and they still made no effort to move the vehicle. These may seem like small things, but they say a lot about how a company respects other people's property and requests. If they can't respect a simple "no flyers" sign or avoid blocking someone's driveway and mailbox, I certainly wouldn't trust them with work on my home. Because of these experiences, I would never do business with this company.
