Sean from Island Solar Service contacted me the same day, actually within an hour of me entering my information on their website. He was able to visit my parent's house the next day and provided me with a quote. We decided to replace the whole system, the panels and the water heater, since it was old. We were able to schedule the installation pretty quickly especially with a lot of homeowners trying to get their systems installed by the end of the year. Prior to the installation, Sean informed my mom of what needed to be done to prep the area for the install. Basically clean the area surrounding the existing water heater and the space needed. He called a week prior to confirm the install and to start the permit process. The team of installers arrived early that morning (7:30 AM) and was done by 1:00PM. They did a terriffic job. Through out the job they informed us as to what they were doing and were very professional. Once completed they went through the system to provide us with information and how everything worked as well as who to call if anything comes up. Overall GREAT service and value. Very painless process. I'd recommend Island Solar Service to family and friends.

A long time ago...In a state with insanely generous tax credits…read more.. I had solar PV panels installed to supplement my water heater system in a glorious effort to lower what was becoming an ever growing power bill. Between all of the household appliances and the increased air conditioner use to keep things cool (and sane), the power bill was going up... So it was a worthwhile investment. Many years later, I noticed that the system wasn't producing quite as much power as it once did and after noticing the panels were quite filthy with mildew and dirt build-up, it was time something was done. After doing a google and a yelp search, a shortlist was quickly produced and I gave Clean Solar Panels Hawaii a call. Dorian happened to be in the area and quickly stopped by to produce a quote that he explained what would be done and how they would safely clean the panels. The cost-effective person in me still sought out a few quotes and found his to be the most reasonable and he made me feel the most comfortable with the work that was to be done. He and his associate came at the scheduled time and quickly started going to work. They were quiet and efficient to the point I didn't even know they were walking around on the roof above my head as I worked the day away... He was even able to fix a broken part on my system that prevented it from reporting the power production a few days later. The results came in that night when I turned on my shower and found the hot water practically scalding. The water panels clearly needed a cleaning after 15-20 years... The proof came in the next power bill where it clearly was producing far more power and the electric bill went considerably down. Was it cheap to clean, no....it was a little bit of an investment, but it definitely is worth it to see your electric bill go back down. Dorian and his associate were very professional, affordable, and most importantly: effective in safely cleaning my panels to make sure what was a costly investment to install, continue to generate the returns I hoped to get, while being more environmentally friendly as I blast my a/c.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT waste your time with this company!…read more I reached out via email to inquire about an issue I had with our owned PV panels. The company who generated the photovoltaic solar energy system that was installed by another on island company on the home I purchased filed bankruptcy in Aug 2024! This left me with finding someone to come out and assess why my PV panels were not generating electricity and sending the energy to be used by my home or to be stored in our Tesla power walls. When I reached out I explained that the company who installed the system on our home told me via monitoring that I had micro-inverters that needed to be replaced. When PV Hawaii techs came to our home for a 'troubleshoot visit' they were unable to gain access to my PV panel inverter - which is from the company that filed bankruptcy! They pretty much told me the only thing they could do was gain assistance from the company who initially installed the PV solar energy system on our home, which mind you, already gave me a quote to restring our PV panels to a whole new inverter and then connect that to our Tesla power walls which would be thousands of dollars!! So, you're telling me that this company, PV Hawaii needs to reach out to a whole separate PV company to get this type of repair/work done!? They charged me $299 for pretty much coming out to my house and doing absolutely NOTHING. When I asked for a quote for them to restring my microinverters to a new inverter I was told via email that they were working on the quote. . . . I NEVER received a quote! Overall, if you own a business and find that you are unable to do specific type of work just let the customer know. Don't charge for services if those services cannot be done. And don't lie and say you're getting a quote together and then never provide a quote and ghost the customer! Stay far away from PV Hawaii and take your hard earned money to another business to meet your solar needs!!!!!

We received the invoice through email and I paid by sending in a check to avoid the credit card fee to the credit card company. It would've been a $22 fee. It might not sound like a lot, but I avoid unnecessary fees if I can.
