1st time customer. I'm trying to find a new nail salon in the area(recently moved to the area) trying support local small businesses went in a new acrylic full set(soaking off old set) . Well first impression... * I was happy to able to make appointments online, *they offered an online menu with pricing, Totally not updated *salon seemed dimmer then most. SERVICES RENDERED TODAY WERE * removal of old acrylic (charged ) * cut down of real nails (charged) * new full set ( up charged from advertising online ) * coffin style (charged extra $5+) (horrible shaping and uneven) At check out was told it $64.00 ($2 up charge for using credit card) asked to put tip on($10) WAs charged $78 instead of $74... definitely never coming back. I guess I will drive the 45 mins to my salon , I Tried to give 2place local businesses out in the Elgin/surrounding area. Was a waste of money. NEVER PAID ALMOST $80 For full set of nails. Even though I was greeted nicely, my pedicure took so much longer than needed. The woman doing my service was on and off the phone the whole time, some phone calls to the salon and that made her get up to write things down but also a lot of texting. She had been taking personal calls as well hearing "I'm stuck here" does not give you a good feeling when you are getting a service done. This isn't a good experience especially if you are on a schedule yourself. read more

Me and my boyfriend were next door at salsa street(AMAZINGGGG) when I decided to get my nails done at sunshine nails just because we were already close by I Walked in, got greeted by young lady she walked next door (where they go hang out I'm assuming)and they all rushed back in and I met Cindy. I told her I wanted a pink and white ombré full set and showed her an example I found on Pinterest. She seemed annoyed at the fact that I was making her work,and started talking her native language to the lady next to us. if she didn't want to work she could of simply stayed home. But she proceded to start my nails, as she's gluing them on she tells me she's going to try her best. IF YOU ARENT SURE YOUR GOING TO BE ABLE TO PULL IT OFF WHY EVEN AGREE TO DOING MY NAILS AND CHARGE ME $60? My nails are horrible no ombré you can litterally see the color difference, and my nails are for some odd reason pointing upwards. They are good in a pinch- but just when you start relaxing they Have a conversation with one of their coworkers across the room in a language you can't understand - it's one thing to speak your language to the person next to you or quietly speak it - I don't care what language you're speaking, if you are yelling across the spa to have a conversation with someone else while someone is there to take part in your "spa experience" you probably ought not yell. I have gone here many times as it is convenient. Cindy has upgraded equipment and tried to upgrade the salon. The prices are very reasonable. However, the experience is highly variable. The salon is fairly dirty, employees have very stained uniform jackets. Lots of dust and dirt.while they no longer do the cutting down the side of your big toenail, some technicians are extremely rough and aggressive trimming cuticles. I was left bleeding today and pray I don't get an infection. Will go somewhere else going forward. Not worth the low price to be left at risk and bleeding. read more

Cindy is very rude to clients if they have questions , the salon doesn't have appropriate air conditioning , the quality of the work is not acceptable considering the price . She is busy talking to her cellphone entire time while she is working on nails as much as she may cause injury on your nails and skin . She is curious about your personal life and looks for that in neighborhood by asking questions from other clients . Scheduled appointment is a joke as they are accepting walk in clients too so there is no guarantee how long you have to wait . Verbal and physical harassment may happen by her like humiliation, bullying if you don't have enough information and need explanation about your requested service . I witnessed she was yelling at a client loudly because she was trying to find out the difference between two services also she did physical harassment by cutting two nails from the bottom to scare her not to ask more questions . She probably suffers from a mental illness or needs anger management therapy . So sad to see someone like her works in our community. read more

Very clean. Walked in with two other people for pedicures in the middle of the day and got in right away. The massage chairs worked great. The only thing that could have been a little better was that they could have massaged our feet and legs a little better, but all in all it was a really nice experience and we will be back. read more

This place makes me feel at home. I've been going there since they first opened. I started with the usual acrylic nails to finally just a natural manicure. Cindy is wonderful. She is always nice and fun. I can't say much from the other employees, as I only go to Cindy. One thing is for sure, if you don't like the job.. don't feel bad and talk to her. My fiancé and I stopped in for manicures and pedicures. They had several people working and were accommodating to walk-ins. It was my first time having a pedicure but not my first manicure. I loved the pedicure and am looking forward to the next one. The manicure was a different story. I asked for acrylics only for the fact that I have a habit of biting my nails. In the past acrylics have helped me break the habit of biting. With the upcoming wedding I would like for my nails to grow and not be in bad shape for pictures. When I asked, the staff kept asking why and it wasn't quiet. This brought attention to me and had other patrons listening and looking at me. The final product was okay because there was glue on some fingers and I had to fix a cuticle. During my fiancés manicure she was clipped a little bit. She said she felt it, saw the manicurist pause and kept going not saying anything. When it was done she could see the blood at the base of the nail. Additionally, the towel that was on the table was not clean and had remnants from someone else's manicure. We do not plan on going back. read more

It started off good, she was friendly and nice. She asked for what size I wanted and shape and once she was finishing up she told me that shape and length were an extra charge. She should've started off with that! I even mentioned the fact that the nails looked crooked she said she would fix it and no they ended up being all different and one nail wasn't even the shape I asked for. I ended up paying $50 for a full set no chip including shape and length but for them to not even last? I mean that same day my hair got stuck between the nails. I just got the best pedicure at this place. I got the $50 Extreme Spa pedicure and it was amazing. The mud mask, scrub and lotion were mint infused and amazingly exhilarating! The atmosphere was nothing special and my nail tech lacked conversation skills but I don't like to talk during my pedis anyway, so it was perfect! Although the salon seems like any other "Asian Nail" spa, my feet and legs have never felt more soft and invigorated before. I extremely happy I stopped in! read more

I have been getting my nails for more than 10 years and I have NEVER gotten fungi. She tells me it's cause water got inside my real nail (wtf again) then as she's applying the acrylic she sneezes covers her nose and proceeds to continue doing my nails (sooooo gross) never coming back read more

I came here today because I had stopped into vv nails 2 up the street twice today and they were too busy. I usually go to vv nails but today they really made me mad. I haven been turned away before this time because they were too busy. So I drove around and found luscious nails. They only had 1 person that did acrylics and they had an appt in 10 min. So I found this place because I remembered it was by the cleaners I go to. I got in right away and had a younger guy with glasses and slicked back hair do my fill. When He was almost done, he went to start a pedicure and Cindy finished up. I couldn't decide on a shade of white that I wanted and she picked out 3 different colors for me. She was so nice and just the way she spoke to me made me feel real welcomed. She gave me her card and told me to come back and wished me a great weekend. I will definitely be back. I know that when I walk into strip mall nail salons that I am not supposed to expect great things. That being said, the service was exceptionally terrible. I walked in on a sunny afternoon when there were about two other patrons in the salon and nearly ten employees hanging out. I was tended to in a timely manner, but the woman that did my pedicure seemed as though she was bored and/or about to fall asleep the entire time. In her more awake moments she couldn't pull herself away from the tv that was on behind her and kept turning around mid-pedicure to watch it, which was moderately awkward. She kept trying to cut my cuticles after I told her not to repeatedly, but that probably had something to do with the television programming being the most interesting thing she had seen all day. The massage portion, which I feel is why most people go to get pedicures, was completely half-assed and she barely touched my legs and feet. She somehow managed to get the polish on my toes correctly. That was probably the highlight of the trip. read more

I have been to this salon a few times now and even though I am very satisfied with my nails, I can't say the same thing for the salon itself. There is so much dust on a glass stand near the door you could right your name in the dust for years, the rugs need a good vaccuming and new coats for the staff would give them a more professional look. First time going into this nail salon , I was automatically greeted by Cindy who was very welcoming and introduced me to Ahn who was going to take care of me she was a older lady who was a little shy and didn't say much ,but did an amazing job on my mani and pedi. I was really hoping Cindy was going to take care of me but I like the fact I got to know the rest of the nail technicians and so I will be returning to this nail salon most definitely.
